Performance Improvements
We've been working hard to improve performance and have seen even more significant gains in FPS, with far less hitching on our test hardware. Server stability should be greatly improved as well
World Design Updates
@captaindave5393 spent some time going over much of central Irumesa, improving roads/paths, creating PoIs, and adding a new mini boss, Kresh, in the swamplands near Marshdale!
Trading Post Progress
@sprocket_bbf is very hard at work on the Trading Post - we're in the testing phase, making sure everything is working properly and is very user-friendly. Should be ready soon!

Loot Table Tweaks
As requested, we're starting to reduce pure raw silver (a quick & dirty solution I added long ago) and add a variety of drops to monster tables to make loot more interesting! This is not a nerf to gold per kill but a re-allocation to more loot

Spirit Tools
Spirit Tools are the most powerful gathering tools currently available in Irumesa. They cannot break, so they don't need to be repaired.
However... this comes with a steep cost and requires some special materials to craft.
Good luck discovering how to make them!
Melee Range Tweaks
Melee range for both auto-attacks and spells has been increased to make combat more fluid. We feel this is nearly perfect in terms of comfort and max reasonable distance to hit vs. monsters and players.
Coming Soon: The Scholar Path
The follow-up to 'The Peon' is soon to be available when you land on Irumesa! Complete a variety of achievements to complete this path and be rewarded with 350 primordium and 20g! This path aims to nudge new players along their journey and help acquire their second relic around level 15-20.
Thistlebrook Mine Repeatable Quest
@captaindave5393 put together an enjoyable quest prototype that will mix-up your mining progression. Currently, it is only available for low level miners, but we will expand this soon. Completing the quest will rewards currency that can be exchanged for some fun items at Simon Horvath in the mine.
Wildlands Expansion
@simsinister has been expanding resources, monsters, and more in the Wildlands to make it less barren. You'll also find the Trade Route has been setup out there if you are feeling extra risky!

Hardcore
We've added a new game mode, Hardcore, to character creation. We will eventually add Ironman (No Trading / Partying), and Hardcore Ironman
This is a simple version of Hardcore - you will have a helmet icon next to your name and a Hardcore status effect on your character if you have never died. You can still party up and play with friends
On death, you will revert to a standard character
New Hairstyles & Beards
We've added over 20 new hairstyles and 10 beard types to the game, including new hair color settings so you can customize your character exactly the way you like!
Note: we added back the 'change look' button to the character window in case you want to adjust your existing character
Party Looting (Need/Greed)
A Need/Greed/Pass loot system has been added for partied up players to roll on gear. We still need to add some QoL here but the basic system is functioning

Weapon Coatings
Weapon Coatings will convert 15% of your dealt damage into another type, based on the coating applied
The monster hunters possess alchemical knowledge regarding Weapon Coatings. For 5 Writs and a bit of gold, you can buy the Hunters Handbook: Alchemical Coatings from the shop to learn these new recipes
They also sell the rare Weapon Oil which is a reagent used in the craft
Elemental Residue has now begun to drop from relevant mobs around Irumesa
Primordium
We've added 10-30 Primordium as rewards for completing the repeatable dungeon quests for all dungeons except Old Mine. We will add Old Mine later on
This should help you obtain more Primordium by running group content with friends and guildies!

We setup the login screen to support announcements and also added a link to discord! This will help new players get some key info without having to rely on our posts here

Quest Tracker
We've added hide/show buttons to the Quest Tracker to control the visibility of objectives. This will help you hide excessive information when going about your quest-completing business!

Gamechanger: RELICS
Upon logging in...
1. You'll find a **Relic** equipped based on your class. Relics allow you to switch classes and level all disciplines (Spiritualism, Savagery, etc.)
2. Combat skills have been** reworked** and set accordingly, and individual weapon skills (sword, spear, etc) have been combined:
- Melee
- Magic
- Ranged
- Light Armor
- Medium Armor
- Heavy Armor
3. Disciplines have been** re-organized** and now display in your skills list:
- Arcana
- Elementalism
- Savagery
- etc.
4. Spells are now associated with your relic and are darkened on the hotbar until they are usable - you will automatically be able to use new spells when you reach the required level (i.e. 20 Arcana)
5. You can now switch classes by switching the relic that you have equipped! These can be obtained with...
Primordium
Primordium is a scarce new currency in Irumesa, found on Primordial Spirits, from Quests, rarely from Gathering, and more!
This resource can be exchanged for relics and other items at **Archmage Caelomir** at the Cobalt Tower.
XP Globes
XP Globes will now appear when gaining XP in any skill! We've also added a settings section to control the quantity of orbs that are visible, ranging from 0-5.

Miscellaneous
- Info Bars (above player/monster heads) now cycle between the following colors based on Hostile, Friendly, or Neutral states:
Green (Friendly, Targeted)
Yellow (Neutral)
Red (Hostile, In Combat)
- Tooltips have been updated with "Heavy Armor" "Medium Armor" or "Ranged Weapon" "Melee Weapon" to better indicate which skill will be trained when using them
- Spells cannot be cast unless you are using the correct class, spell Tooltips have been updated to reflect this
- Monster Hit Sounds now have a CD so they do not occur too frequently
- Melee weapons have had their hit range increased as far as possible (roughly a 20% increase in distance from before)
- "Critters" should now be hidden on the minimap (Rabbits, Snakes, etc.) - if you see any other monsters that you think should be hidden, let us know! We will add a toggle option for this soon
- Paths will no longer immediately track when receiving them. Players can opt-in to tracking them after visiting the Paths tab in their Quest Log
- Armor Skill XP will be gained when taking damage while using a particular set of armor - using a shield will add additional resisted damage to the calculation and help progress these skills faster!
- Duskbow, Paladin, and Illusionist have been added to the character creation flow - we are still fine-tuning the Paladin ability FX and will do dedicated showcases on these classes when they are fully complete
- Chat messages should no longer be intercepted by NPC conversations. This may cause unintended errors, so let us know if anything is working incorrectly after this change!
- Completing the quests on Solitary Isles will reward discipline XP
- T5 Alchemy Task Description should be fixed
- T7 Woodworking Task should now correctly register T7 bows as they are collected
- New Area/Spatial Audio Added to increase immersion throughout Irumesa!
- Solitary Isles dialogue improvements
- Fog has been fixed!
- Tutorial Island area design improved to make it more clear where the crafting table is located
- More bug fixes & tweaks to reduce lag / stuttering
- More bug fixes to improve free movement interaction with different tile heights / terrain - This should fix a lot of stuck issues. If you see any more, please report them asap!

Their audacious rebellion must be extinguished - rally your friends, steel your hearts, and put a stop to Brutus and his scaly cohorts!

New InfoBar settings have been added to the settings menu to allow you to control whether or not you see:
- Your own or other player infobars
- Status effects above your infobar
**Please let us know which other settings options you'd like to see!** We can get new things added and intend to reorganize things as much as we can to make it easy to configure things how you like.

- The currently distributed Relics have been removed from the game - spells for relics that were equipped prior to this change will be removed soon

Warrens of Thought "Nestled beneath the bustling streets of Edrivine lies a forgotten relic of the citys past, the lost section of Edrivines sewers. This crumbling section, the very first to be built, was once a marvel of architecture. However, as years passed and the city expanded, it fell into disuse and eventually collapsed, sealing its secrets away from the world above. - Characters now move freely across the grid rather than locked to a movement from one tile to the next

Q: Give me the tl;dr!
Relics can be equipped and allow class-switching based on your skill levels - such as Empyrean, Demonism, Spiritualism, etc.
Using spells would require skill level. Your spell which requires 30 combat would require 30 Empyrean, Demonism, Spiritualism, etc. instead.
Q: What would happen to my current characters?
After a future patch you would login with a relic equipped in the RELIC slot with the same class, abilities, and skill levels. Nothing would change unless you chose to make a change.
Q: I'm a level 30 Priest with 30 Empyrean - I could play some Dragon Knight if I wanted?"
Yes, you'd be able to equip a Dragon Knight, Crusader, or Paladin Relic and have access to their full kits due to your Empyrean level.
Q: Why do we have to get primordium to get classes when we can get them instantly by making a new character right now?
You can still make a new character! You have 10 character slots, after all. Primordium is an additional feature for those who want the flexibility without the needing to start over on a new character. This is just another path you may choose.
Q: Doesn't this dilute the class fantasy? Why can I be a demon worshipper and then a divine priest 1 hour later?
The player is just an adventurer within Irumesa, a seeker of knowledge rather than someone bound by a single path or allegiance. Relics grant the true power of each class. Your character isnt defined by a single ideology or discipline, but by their pursuit of greater understanding and mastery over the various powers available to them.
Q: Won't everyone be forced to play the "meta" build under this system?
Players will still have to invest as much, or more time into progressing disciplines as they would without class-switching. Such a requirement from would exist in both class systems.

Bank & Bags Rework
Sprocket has been working hard for the last ~3 months to get the re-worked bank out to everyone, and it's finally here!
- All banks are now linked across Irumesa, courtesy of the Crown
- Improved responsiveness throughout the UI while interacting with things such as equipping, moving Items, opening bags & using the Bank
- Icons are now stored on clients which also improved responsiveness
- 650 Slots of storage space
- Increased Stack sizes in bank to 999,999
- Stack sizes for many items such as consumables and resources have been increased in bags
- Right click items in inventory for a range of depositing options
- Double Click to deposit one item from a stack
- CTRL+Click to deposit/withdraw a whole stack
- Quick Stack (QS) | Deposit any items that you have existing stacks for in your bank
- Deposit All Bags (DAB) | Deposit all items in your bags
- Deposit All Equipment (DAE) | Deposits all equipped items (Excluding your bags)
- Sort Bank | Sort the contents of your bank tab by Alphabetically or by value
- Wealth Display calculates every item in your possession to display your character's total wealth
- Bags-in-Bags are being phased out in favor of the larger stack sizes and one large inventory window so it is much easier to manage items as you play

@captaindave5393 has implemented these new Elite Monsters which have random/powerful resistances and buffs, and give more XP and loot! We will be expanding their table with unique, primordial-specific items in the future

New Paths: The Peon, Hunter, & Trader
**The Peon**
New arrivals to Irumesa will want to graduate from the role of Peon by completing this beginner path. Completing various entry-level activities will earn you a nice pair of Boots and a Traveler's Backpack
**The Hunter**
Completing tasks now carries additional rewards! Earn a miniature Selene, a special Back item, and more cool stuff by completing them
**The Trader**
Delivering Trade Packs are a necessary part of Irumesa's economy. The Trader Path has some pretty neat rewards, including a Farm Cart mount, a talent, and more
**Note!** We will be re-working The Dungeoneer into 4 parts, breaking dungeons into each part so that we can provide meaningful XP and item rewards after completing each
# New Taskboard Requests
Taskboards will now offer CRAFTING requests which encourage players to turn in items from the following professions in return for great XP and a bit of gold:
- Tailoring
- Blacksmithing
- Leatherworking
- Woodworking
- Jewelcrafting
- Alchemy
Earthguard Rework
Earthguard has been re-worked to fit it's true theme: a Mage Tank! Their main stat is now **Intelligence**, meaning they'll typically wear Leather and Cloth. Their spells have been tuned to be a bit more powerful as well
- Earthguard's Earth Slash cd reduced to 2s and scales with # of current Earthshield stacks
- Earthguard's Aftershock explosion damage multiplier doubled
- Earthguard receives solid core at 15, Protective Shards at 20, and Seismic Slam at 25
More UI Updates
- We've updated the game with new Item Rarity Backgrounds & Tooltip Highlights
- The Character Window has been completely redesigned to show all slots in a cleaner fashion
- When the Inventory is fully re-worked, we will remove the quest bag from the character window and add: L/R Pouch Slot (to open up Waist slots) and a Special Bag slot
- Monster Category Icons have been updated! Let us know if you see monsters which are missing type icons
- FloatingText fonts have been updated to the primary in-game font, Asul
- Expanded Area of Effect Tile Preview - we will be updating this to a radial indicator in the near future
- New Icons for various items: Arcane Transceiver, Leyline Stone, Transmutation Stone, Rinthistle, Aetherthistle, & more
- Trade Packs now display the list of contents in the tooltip
- Filleting and Enchanting Should now use the Slider instead of a option selection box

Monster Dex Improvements

- Loot will now appear without having to 'see' the monster again, and will load when opening the dex (Ctrl+M)
- We plan to re-design this system, improve the 3D renders, and implement 'unobtained' rare drops into the list, so you'll know which items *can* drop but haven't yet

Dave has designed a 5 boss dungeon for the level 25 range where players will take down the dragonkin who've taken over a sacred temple to the Dragon, Ethersalos

At the northwestern border of Rendez, Demonic forces are growing... the new level 40, 5-boss dungeon will be released very soon!

Poll Tomorrow: Monster Hunter Mount
After patch, a few players have obtained the MEAN MACHINE, which is a Motorcycle mount themed for Monster Hunters. The machinery leverages Grimbear techniques to power the engine, but has been considered out of place by many in the community.
We will hold a poll to see if this mount should be kept or saved for GMs only :pray:
Testing: Free Movement
We did diagonal movement and it was pretty good, but then we thought "F it, why not try going all the way?"
So... We have a screenshot of a free movement prototype that is being worked on. The responsiveness improvement feels pretty good! Excited to let everyone test it out.

Miscellaneous Updates
- Pathfinding system improvements. Monster should now more accurately move toward the player without getting stuck
- Sparkle Corpse FX added. When a monster dies and they have loot, their corpse will get a very subtle sparkle to indicate loot on the mob. We still need to complete removal of the FX when using Open Nearby Corpses
- Minimap Marker will be removed after a short timeout when diverging from the auto-path
- The current moon phase should now be accurate and match the aesthetic of the moonlight
- Removed the ability to drag corpses - if you encounter any issues, let us know the reason and we will fix!
- Players will no longer lean back after dismounting
- Left Click Rotation button added to enable / disable left clicking to rotate the camera
- Mouse Input interactions generally have been cleaned up
- The tile movement marker now outlines the target move tile instead of highlighting it with a circle FX
- Grass fixes continue
- Scythe Auto attack animation has been adjusted to respect the movement of the lower body
- Box Colliders Fixed - this should make interacting with mobs much easier
- Mana costs have been re-balanced and scaling off of Max Mana has been removed, this will allow for mana to be useful when making itemization decisions

- Weapons now show raw DPS instead of scaled DPS, so as not to cause confusion when comparing equipped vs. unequipped items

- Officers can now invite to guilds correctly
- All Classes now gain a 3rd stat when leveling up which is not directly relevant to their damage/main-stat but could be useful to progression
- Companions now retaliate correctly when the owner is attacked and the companion is in defensive mode
- Spells no longer trigger their completion events until the spellcast has been fully completed
- Crusaders, Earthguards, and Dragon Knights have had their spell receipt order tweaked for smoother progression
- Possessing a Trade Pack will now apply a movement speed reduction
- Password Recovery email has now been fixed
- Paths will now mark as complete in the quest log and not be re-added multiple times
- Hover tooltips on XP bars will now show 2 decimal places
- Added more wisdom/int scaling weapons and offhands to 1-15 Rare Drop Tables

Quest Log / Paths
We've implemented Chisme 's redesign of the Quest Log and also added a new tab for Paths!
Tasks will appear above your quests so they are easy to access.
Paths will be meta-quests that are obtained automatically or upon reaching all of the requirements. They will help to showcase and reward all of the different types content that Ethyrial has to offer!
New Quests, Monsters, & PoIs
Van Corving, Vampire Hunter is now available! This quest is the introduction to the Monster Hunters and tasks players with defeating a formidable Vampire. This quest was written by Winterslice, be sure to let him know how you like it!
Voracious Predator has been implemented. Learn about some manafused shenanigans in part 1 of a series of quests.
Wasps outside of Edrivine have had their environment updated.
Forest Spirit outside of Edrivine have had their environment updated.
Lightning Elementals West of Edrivine have had their environment updated.
Added more visual detail to the Grovekeeper location.
New Talent added to discover.
Added a new swamp zone next to the Grovekeeper location.
Updated environment design for forest locations outside of Edrivine.

New Grass & Moonlight
New grass has been implemented, which features more variety than the former grass design. We've also added moonlight effects at night which reflect the actual colors of Irumesa's three moons: Lithos (Blue), Eranam (Green), and Augem (Red). This ties into things like the Fishing skill catch bonus during Augem!
QoL
Added a 'destination marker' when clicking on the minimap.
Pressing Escape will now close all open windows first, then open the escape menu.
Right-clicking a hostile target will target it. Right-clicking again will cause the player to run to the target and begin auto-attacking.
Left-clicking a resource node will automatically move the player to the node and begin gathering with the first available tool.
Swapping 2H items with double-click is now possible. It will unequip dual-wield items and place them in your bag, or reject the attempt if your bag is full.
Taskboard turn-ins will no longer take from your equipped items. (i.e. Drakonium turn-in)
Mail and Trade Pack values should should now persist through logins. (In the event you die in the Wildlands and untradeable items are mailed to you, they shouldn't be lost if you happen to logout before taking them)
Base Run Speed has been increased by 5%. All three road buffs have been reduced by 5%.
We've implemented a fix for desync that worked when testing on development. Let us know if you experience any issues with this going forward.
A Quest Marker system has been added. Currently it is in testing on early game NPCs. Once we've worked out any bugs, we will roll this out to all relevant NPCs!
Fixed a bug that caused a complete client crash when clicking on an unpathable waypoint.
The research cooldown on monsters should be properly fixes now!
The chat will no longer scroll to the bottom every time a new message comes in. If the chat is scrolled up, it will remain in place.
Chatting will no longer stop the player from autorunning.
Attempted bugfix for players getting from when entering an arena match.
Guild Notifications will now post in chat when the guild levels up.
Dawn's Light can now be dual-wielded.
