Two things will happen before that:
When loading an old game you will be given the option to start the new game with the VUDU and most of the items, clones, ships, mods, gongs etc. from the old game. All your knowledge about the galaxy and storyline progress will be gone in the new game. Your achievements will be unaffected.
Thanks to everybody who bought or otherwise supported TAXINAUT during the Early Access period. It has been a great help in shaping TAXINAUT and to me personally.

Quick patch that hopefully solves possible crash when descending to planets with a traffic-grid (e.g. Xenis). Thanks, Anthony!
Quick patch for a very common crash when clicking the landing/mob-interaction/fare dialog nearly anywhere. Big thanks to DStar7 for reporting this!
A new planet-type with a couple of variations and new mobs and NPCs. Some bug fixes. Some cute new additions to the UI. See: https://youtu.be/FN-qIF8eIts
Ok, here is the first pure content update (well sort of). It has a new planet...
Sorry, a quick update that fixes some bugs that have been really annoying me for a long time:
This update adds new commercial hubs but this time to the Dronx region. They're a little bit more dangerous than regular other planets (only a little, I'm starting light). Note that there's been a change to the default display settings (full screen exclusive should now be viable again and it won't force a display resolution change). Your display configuration might have changed (especially when playing on Linux/Mac where it used to use full screen by default but now doesn't). See also http://www.mosgrom.net/taxinaut/manual.html#windowmodefullscreen.
Again no new planets (I know) but more preparation for when more nasty planets will be added (next update?). nevertheless I think you might like this update.
This doesn't add anything new to the game but there are now startup scripts in the installation-directory that should make it possible to run TAXINAUT on any platform (e.g. Linux or Mac) with Java >= 17 installed. See for more information: http://www.mosgrom.net/taxinaut/manual.html#installationandstarting Running TAXINAUT like this on Linux (instead of using Proton) should give better performance (it does on my Linux laptop). I don't have a Steam Deck so I don't know if it's possible to install Java on there and start TAXINAUT that way; but if that's possible it might also improve performance on the Steam Deck. Note that this doesn't make Linux or Mac officially supported (but it should run fine).
You might like this one. I prepares for some more "nasty" planets that are going to be added soon by giving you more ways to "improve" yourself:
First of the content updates. It's not very big but I'm just going to push them out as I make them. This one adds a certain type of "commercial-hub" planets. You'll find them in the New Temple, Lordano, Lelande and Dexxon Sector galactic regions. Some people will have a "commercial-hub" topic when you're near one of these planets. These planets also add a new taxi-company called "Tranza" (not widespread yet) and 3 new flyable ships. Also a lot of work has been done to start making fares more in context to where you are, together with some other "technical" stuff that will make it easier for me to add content.
I said no more but here's another quick update with some bug-fixes and some feature requests.
Sorry. This is the last of these quick updates. This one adds some extra stuff to the recently added 2nd tutorial fare. Again to hopefully make the beginner's experience a bit smoother in case there's new players coming in during the Steam Space Exploration Fest.
Another quick update to prepare for maybe some new players from the Steam Space Exploration Fest. This makes it so all planets (including gas-giants) can now be scanned by planet discovery scans (the scans are also a bit cheaper) and adds a discord and email button at the bottom of the main-menu so that you can more easily ask questions, report bugs, etc.
Tiny update that adds a little tutorial fare that explains the need for anti-graviton charges on planets without spaceports. This fare only occurs at the beginning of the game so there won't be any difference for people already playing. I added this in case the upcoming Steam Space Exploration fest brings in some new players.
A small patch that fixes some reported crashes:
Quick patch mainly to remove a possible crash due to a type-o in the previous patch.
