106 years ago on April 1st 1918 the Royal Air Force was founded, making it the first official and independent air force in the world. Since this day, the RAF has been involved in many conflicts throughout the 20th century. Perhaps the most famous one is the Battle of Britain, where The Few defended British skies against the Luftwaffe, preventing a German invasion.
Some of the most famous aircraft of the RAF include the Hurricane, Typhoon, Spitfire, Lancaster, Meteor, Hunter and Harrier. Today, the RAF operates around 500 aircraft.

About this aircraft
- The Typhoon Mk Ib is a fighter aircraft that can carry an assortment of weapons, including up to 2 x 1000 lb bombs and 8 x RP-3 rockets. With a top speed of over 600 km/h and four 20 mm Hispano Mk.II cannons, the Typhoon Mk Ib is more than capable in air battles as well as ground battles when performing close air support.
