Game description
ShipCrafter is an upcoming naval sandbox combat simulator. Build you ship, unlock new parts, and defeat increasingly powerful foes !
Challenge adversaries in the campaign and liberate europe, or battle your own creations in the custom battle mode, and try to come up with the most efficient and original design.
Realtime physics
We want to make a game with accurate physics. As such we implemented a realtime buoyancy system based on weight and submerged volume. The ship density and center of mass is displayed in editor, allowing to fine tune your ship and even make submarines using ballasts !
Weaponery physics were particularly cared for as well, with fully simulated shell trajectories considering air pressure, changes in density through the atmosphere, and the influence of speed on shells drag value. Penetration calculations are calculated based on armor thickness, angle of incidence, bounce probability, and shell speed and mass.

1x1m sized blocks for the highest visual and physical accuracy.

Realistic ballistic trajectories even considering changes in the air pressure with altitude. Speeds and distances are however reduced to increase the nervosity of combats (in reality it would take more than a minute to hit a target at 20km).
Adjustable ballasts for submarine designs.
Physics based damages instead of healthbars. Turrets and engines will also lose performance if hit.
Weather system and day cycles, including changes in ocean waves amplitude and rain.
Campaign with more than 50 missions.
More than 20 different ships to defeat.
Custom battle editor, including weather, time of day selection, and bots vs bots naval battles.
Manual and automatic control mode for weaponery.
Realtime fluid simulation (experimental).
Visit your ship in first person view.

We are starting this new year with a lot of improvements for the game, focusing on quality of life changes and some more content.
New default ship
A default ship was changed for a new design, courtesy of Space_Aquila. This new design is more visually appealing than previously while remaining stable and simple.

Richelieu dual purpose triple 152mm turrets
A new turret was added in this update, Richelieu\'s main secondary turret. It is also dual purpose, although suffering from lower rate of fire than most dual purpose turrets.

New community ships
2 new community ships were added : HMS General Wolfe and HMS Chaser.

General improvements
Finally we worked on many QOL changes. Here is the full changelog :
- swordfish with depth charges now longer attacks submerged submarines below periscopic depth
- fixed depth charges being capable to hit submarines at maximum depth
- increased Y axis inaccuracy of weapons
- shells can overmatch armor only if their diameter is 4x larger than armor thickness (instead of 3x previously)
- now fixed torpedo launchers will only fire if the camera is roughly looking in their firing direction
- you can now control the ship in first person view using the arrow keys, do note that your character will not follow the ship relative rotation however
- it is now possible to view all turrets concerned by a particular behaviour by hovering the corresponding panel title (example : primary mode, hover the \"Primary\" text)
- you can now set negative scales on cosmetics
- pressing enter now copies the current hovered block, along with it\'s rotation, scaling and shifting
- the copy upper blocks button was changed to copy down the blocks
- a new starter ship was introduced, thanks to Space Aquilla for the design and thanks to all other builders for their submissions !
- added Richelieu 152mm triple turret
- added a Swordfish with RP-3 rockets
- changed minimum flight deck size to 130m X 13m
- added HMS Chaser to community missions
- added HMS General Wolfe to community missions
We will be trying to implement (very) basic multiplayer for next update, therefore do not worry if it takes more time than usual to come out. See you for next update !
