The year is coming to a close once again.
Oh yeah - we totally released La-Mulana 2 this year. I barely even know what's going on anymore.
Anyway, thanks so much to all the backers for all of your patience! Has everyone managed to clear the game already?
We haven't been putting up any of these updates for awhile now, as we've been super busy with all the game updates taking up our time up till now and most of our time now being taken up by porting work.
Even being built with Unity, unfortunately we can't simply just stick the game onto consoles as-is and expect it to function properly. We have to search out all the spots we need to optimize, and fix them up ourselves. If, during this process, we're able to lighten the game even further, we may add those changes into the PC version as well.
But the thing everyone is likely most interested in would be the rewards.
This is sort of our own problem, but I live in Japan. And most of our backers don't.
If we don't set everything up so that all of the rewards - of which there are a lot - can be mailed out at once, things would get extremely hairy. Sendable sizes alone are a big issue, and even if we wanted to, we wouldn't be able to do something like put together a super awesome artbook and mail it out to everyone.
So anyway, the rewards will all be sent out once they're all ready to go, which should hopefully be sometime around the time the console version is released.
For now, I'm gonna continue doing my part and working on what I can.
This year was marked largely by our desperate and frenzied efforts to get the game out, but next year you'll be able to play the game on consoles. Next year is the real big show for La-Mulana 2.
