THE STORY

John accompanies Nora to Sardinia for her temporary assignment at the Isili Archaeological Park.

During the summer solstice, she and a colleague are sent on a special mission by Lithus Corporation, but they never return.

Worried, John enters the park. Darkness closes in. Something is moving in the shadows.

To survive, he must stay quiet as a sound-hunting creature stalks him. To save Nora, he must face his fears and uncover the secrets tying her to Lithus’s hidden origins.

DIEGETIC GAMEPLAY

Experience full immersion with diegetic gameplay. Manage the Backpack Inventory, use the Park Map, and conserve power from the essential Flashlight Battery System.

AI FREE-ROAMING MONSTER

Evade a predator driven by a free-roaming AI. Utilizing a Stimuli Detection system based on sight, sound, and flashlight use, the monster features an Adaptive AI Behaviour that evolves its hunting tactics based on your actions.

REAL-LIFE INSPIRED

IDILI aims to bring the evocative landscape of Sardinia to life. The Archeologic Park of Is Paras is inspired by a real place in the village of Isili in the heart of south Sardinia (you can visit it, for real!).

The assets that make up the game map, like all of the other elements of the game, are 100% original, except for a part of the vegetation. For this we are very proud as the archaeology and the places of culture and tradition shown in the game try to be a faithful reproduction of the original counterpart.

IMMERSIVE VISUALS AND SOUND DESIGN

Experience life-like graphics enhanced by Lumen and cutting-edge technical improvements. New immersive soundscapes (including MetaSounds) and dynamic/adaptive composition heighten the eerie atmosphere and transport you straight into the horror.

THE TEAM

Megalith Interactive Studios is a new studio that was founded in 2024. We are passionate, independent and zero budget. IDILI is the result of a common effort and with it we want to show our skills and try to enter the world of video games with a project that comes out in Early Access to help us validate the game.

The latest 0.1 update is ready! This marks the final release for the 0.1.9 cycle, and we are already looking forward to the upcoming 0.2.1 update.

Since our last update, we have been working intensively on IDILI, focusing on optimization, accessibility, and overall project stability. We are thrilled to announce that a new patch is finally available and ready for you to test.

Over the past few few months, IDILIs journey has taken us very far, literally. We had the incredible opportunity to showcase the game in Tokyo at the Tokyo Game Show. It was an amazing experience that allowed us to connect with developers, professionals, and industry experts from all over the world. Bringing IDILI to the other side of the planet and witnessing the curiosity and interest in our project was a pivotal moment for us, fueling our motivation to push the games quality even further.

Alongside these events, the team has been hard at work on several technical goals from our roadmap. With this patch, we have achieved some major milestones:

- Texture & Shader Optimization: Performance enhancements across the entire game world.

- Visual Refinement: Continuous improvements to technical execution and overall graphics.

Gameplay & Performance:

- Controller Support: Full compatibility for a more accessible experience.

- FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution): Increased fluidity and optimized framerates.

- Code Optimization: General improvements to game stability and performance.

- Modular System: Implementation of a modular framework to accelerate gameplay development for future updates.

- Animation Overhaul: Improved fluidity for sequences and character animations.

AI & Localization:

- AI Bug Fixes: Resolved issues with AI behavior for a more consistent challenge.

- Localization Updates: Refined translations and textoptimizations.

Technical Tips & Support:

- Recommended Settings: For the best experience, we recommend setting View Distance to High, even on minimum spec systems.

- Collectibles System: If you encounter issues with collectibles, we suggest deleting previous save slots related to them to avoid conflicts with the new update.

Since the last patch, we worked a lot on IDILI, trying to optimize and add more content. Now we can finally announce that our new 0.1.8 Patch is online and available to test!

During the last 2 months we did a loooot, starting from First Playable, where we talked with a lot of publishers, and the (not) last one was Gamescom; I mean, GAMESCOM!!! Can you believe it? Yes, believe it, because that's what actually happened =) We just came back from Gamescom and it was an incredible experience! We talked with a lot of professionals from the industry (Ubisoft, CD Projekt Red and more), and we received a lot of good advice about level design, gameplay, optimization, narrative etc.

Before jumping into our improvements, we'd like to remind you that we're still working hard on IDILI. We're now releasing a new patch with tons of improvements, but it wont be the last one; it will be the first of many new ones because we finally found a new programmer after our first one left the team earlier this year. We know our presence here on Steam wasnt very active. But believe us, it's hard to make a game with no budget. Imagine managing the community as well =) Anyway, we're so excited to share this new patch with you, and we can't wait to hear your opinion; so please write a comment below if you have anything to say (even bug reports or personal opinions).

And now let's go into our improvements:

Graphical Improvements:

- Added small paths in the forest to provide more guided traversal

- Improved rendering performance across the board

- Improved overall lighting

- Added new toilet building

- Improved visibility slightly (still not too much because the flashlight should still be useful)

- Improved shadow behaviour in many cases (we still have some problems that seem to be on the engine side)

- Added world-building objects that also help with puzzles

- Added collectible statues based on real-world counterparts

- Improved animation behaviour

- Added more environment assets

- Replaced a lot of materials from the first "placeholder" iterations

- Improved landscape material blending

- Replaced the monster mask to be more in line with the originals

- Reworked street area

- Improved overall UI

- Changed color and assets of grasses to better reflect Sardinia in the summer

Gameplay Programming:

- Added new checkpoints and improved stability of save system

- Improved smoothness of Gameplay and Controls

- Reduced technical debt: optimized and generalized Blueprints for better maintainability and scalability

- Improved crouch behavior, made it more smoother and more responsive

- Added new flashlight shake mechanic to emergency recharge

- Fixed numerous bugs and improved overall stability

AI & Gameplay Improvements:

- Enhanced Teleport Logic: The AI now anticipates the players movement, increasing challenge and tension

- Improved Perception: The monster now reacts differently depending on player states such as crouching, walking, or running with the flashlight on

- Enhanced Monster Spawning: Monsters now spawn in bushes more visibly, and their spawn sounds have been improved for clearer audio feedback

- Reduced Door Clipping: The monster now clips through doors less often, reducing immersion-breaking moments

- Enhanced Monster Animations: Added new monster animations to increase tension and immersion

- Improved Monster Perception

IDILI: development is going strong we're still here, more alive than ever!

Hi everyone!

We know its been a while since our last update, and we really wanted to break the silence to let you know that IDILI is more alive than ever. Weve been super active behind the scenes, working hard to bring you a horror experience thats even more refined, immersive, and atmospheric.

As many of you know, IDILI is a fully self-funded project, with no external support or publisher behind us (for now!). This means were constantly juggling between work, personal life, and development, doing our best on all fronts. Its not easy, but our passion for this project and your ongoing support keep us going every single day.

In the coming weeks, well be sharing lots of exciting news: dev updates, exclusive content, new visuals, and behind the scenes insights on how were building this dark and mysterious world inspired by our homeland.

fixed a bug where the player could get quest items out of order and break the game
fixed some spelling and grammar errors
improved textures of small stones
improved collisions around Nuraghe Is Paras area

This is hopefully the last of the small hotfix patches for now. The team will now have a weekend for the first time in 6 months. Next week we will continue improving and enhancing IDILI as much as we can starting with some more settings. Afterwards we plan on adding new areas to the Park Nuraghe Is Paras and continuing the story and world building. But these Patches will be not as frequent of course. Thanks to everyone of you playing our game sharing your experiences and telling your friends and families about IDILI. Much love from Sardinia and from the rest of the team all over the world. changed position of first note
changed texture of calendar (sorry about that)
added ability to open the map at any time with the M key
changed the keymap in the pause menu
disabled Cinematic scaling option in the settings (this is not meant for gameplay and was an oversight from us)
changed the keypad and the note for the riddle to be not as confusing

we want to thank every one of you for playing our game and leaving feedback. This is only the first version of IDILI and we will work very hard to fix any remaining bugs and add new content. We are a small Indie team and this is our first game so we are super grateful all the feedback and comments we get.
