We are big fans of the Steam Deck here at RWS, and we are actively working to ensure all of our games provide a great experience on the platform. We are proud to announce that, after some back and forth with Valve's diligent verification team, we have ironed out all the kinks, and POSTAL 2 is now fully Deck verified via its native Linux client!
We took things a step further as well. When playing on the Deck, the button prompts now display the correctly styled Steam Deck glyphs instead of the Xbox controller ones, and we have created a custom "how to play" screen.
Please note that, as of now, there is no cross-cloud save feature between the native Linux and Windows versions. While Valve does not require this for awarding a verified tick, they strongly encourage it, and we are committed to implementing this feature in a future update.
Hope those of you with a Deck enjoy these updates and don't forget to leave P2 a review if you have not already!

Happy 20th Anniversary POSTAL 2!
We're stoked to announce our celebratory update, which brings the widely loved community mod 'xPatch' into the official fold, as well as other improvements! This update is jam-packed with exciting new features, enhancements, and bug fixes that will elevate your POSTAL 2 experience to a whole new level.
Some of the standout additions include improved Steam Deck compatibility, the Two Weeks In Paradise game mode (Paradise Lost), a reworked New Game menu, and a new "Ludicrous" difficulty. Plus, we've added the Flipping the Bird feature from Paradise Lost into the base P2, expanded Crosshair Customization, and introduced the super-fun Cat Launcher as a cheat-only weapon!
We've also made some significant changes to the game, such as restoring the original number of particles for blood effects, improving Muzzle Flash Effects, and adding new weapon options like Cat Silencers now being usable on more weapons, and dual-wielding Sawn-Off Shotguns. During the apocalypse, bystanders will now use more weapons too, making for a more thrilling and chaotic experience!
Furthermore, those who want to enjoy POSTAL 2 as it was in 2003 can now play 'Classic' mode, which presents the game closer to how it was at launch, before all the modern updates (while still retaining various modern quality of life improvements such as widescreen support). You can even cherry-pick which aspects of the game you'd like to see as either original or updated, how cool is that?
And that's just the tip of the iceberg! We've squashed numerous bugs and crashes, ensuring a smoother gaming experience for everyone.
So gear up, grab your weapons, and let the mayhem begin as we celebrate 20 years of POSTAL 2!
Note: This update will reset user configurations such as button layouts and video settings. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hyperstrange friends, RWS fam!
Hyperstrange-developed POSTAL: Brain Damaged, the action-packed DOOM Eternal-like spin-off of the POSTAL series is finally here, and if you own any of the eligible RWS or Hyperstrange titles, or some other staple throwback-shooters like DUSK, Hedon, or Nightmare Reaper, you can get PBD with an additional discount added on top of -20% release discount via one of the special bundle deals. Plus, we're happy to report it really SLAPS! With more than 1100 reviews it currently enjoys an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' rating, with more than 95% players recommending the game.
Yes, Hyperstrange really pulled this one off. The game is good and the release has been relatively bug-free despite the 2-week delay made explicitly to implement some bugs and stay on-brand. But it wouldn't be a POSTAL release if something haven't gone wrong. Many of you were waiting for the release of the POSTAL: Brain Damaged Official Soundtrack. The wait is finally over! The OST has arrived, and you can get it separately or bundled with the official Art Book in the POSTAL: Brain Damaged - Connoisseur Edition. [previewyoutube=q7UXDk9xsaM;full][/previewyoutube]
UPCOMING UPDATES
The Hyperstrange Dev team is very grateful for the amazing reception of PBD. This gives them even more motivation to improve and expand the game post-release. Here's what to expect soon:
- Post-release fix - an update taking care of the known issues reported by the players, that slipped into the full release (ETA: One week)
- Balancing update - some players, as well as some internet micro-celebrities, have brought to our attention that the game offers way to much ammo if you explore the levels 'Quake-style', and far too little if you prefer to push on 'Doom Eternal-style'. The update will take care of that issue, allowing everyone to enjoy the game in their preferred playstyle. The update will also reconfigure some of the enemy positioning, spawns, and behavior. (ETA: One month)
- New playmodes - With that taken care of, the dev team will proceed to expanding the game itself, introducing an oft-requested horde mode, as well as another playmode offering a new, and replayable PBD experience. (ETA: This summer)
- More to be announced!

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/going-postal-the-legacy-foretold-documentary#/
One week to go and your support has been incredible so far. Over 330 of you have helped PlayTest Network reach 90% of their established goal to fully fund this project that aims to document the good, the bad and the downright batshit crazy story of Running With Scissors and the POSTAL franchise.
When we first announced this project, many people were wondering why would we make a documentary in the middle of the development of POSTAL 4. So relaaaax, we are not the ones making the documentary and our games will always be top priority, especially during Early Access. Were just spreading the word to help the talented team of two passionate guys who want to make this documentary a reality.
If you cant donate via Indiegogo, heres some alternatives:
Donating directly to their PayPal account, playtesttv@gmail.com | Your matched donation amount will place you in with their current perks.
They can also accept checks via snailmail. To get their mailing address, send them an email to playtesttv@gmail.com
(Outside of Indiegogo) They will gratefully take donations even after the campaign ends. As they begin post-production, they fully anticipate more challenges as they move forward with finding a distributor.
Send this campaign to any documentary or video game enthusiast, right now! They might not know about Postal, but you might introduce somebody to their new favorite game! And or they might never talk to you again. Could go either way really.
Were so close to reaching that goal, we can already taste Krotchys nutsack!
And remember, even if you dont donate, just spreading the word is already a huge help. So please help us spread the word and make this documentary a reality!
As always, thank you all for your continued support! <3

POSTAL: Brain Damaged, the retro-styled FPS spin-off from Running With Scissors outrageous series enjoyed by millions, will deliver crude and immature humor, ridiculous weapons, and old school challenge to PC and consoles in 2021. Developed by Hyperstrange (developers of ELDERBORN) and CreativeForge Games to be published by Running With Scissors, POSTAL: Brain Damaged gives a tantalizing taste of the madness to come in its debut trailer, revealed today at Realms Deep 2020.
One too many hits to the head (and hits off the pipe) has everyones favorite bathrobed anti-hero, The POSTAL Dude, reeling from brain damage. When he closes his eyes in a drunken, drugged-up stupor, he awakens in a psychedelic, grotesque, utterly twisted dream world. Asylum patients with dildo arms charge ravenously. Serial killer grandmas wield walkers in cut-throat combat. Beware probe-happy aliens reaching for the backside of The POSTAL Dudes bathrobe.
Shoot through stages of escalating insanity, beating back the nightmares with bullets and urine. Strafe, dash, slide, and bunny hop through massive retro-styled stages, including a grungy asylum, comic convention, Area 69, and more. Each of The POSTAL Dudes twisted fantasies offers new challenges and a characteristic flow from corridor shooting through secret passages to blowing up large, open spaces with perfect twitch reflexes but the hardcore spirit of badass 90s shooters bleeds from every orifice.
With a heaping arsenal of nostalgic, bombastic weaponry, POSTAL: Brain Damaged delivers a pure boomer shooter experience. Eviscerate enemies with the double-barreled shotgun, remove flat-earther heads from afar with the devastating railgun, and attach the cat silencer to blast aliens and military zombies with feline style.
POSTAL: Brain Damaged boasts the series beloved over-the-top parody and satire of pop culture, politics, and modern society. Escape from reality and unwind while beating back hippies, fleeing from flying fluids, and wiping out enemies to your hearts content while pixelated blood spurts forth and a thrashing old school soundtrack thumps with every gun blast.
They just dont make badass shooters like they used to, said Vince Desi, founder of Running With Scissors. "Brain Damaged takes the torch from all the pretenders while excreting everything fans want to see from the series that once birthed The Worst Game Ever. The Dude is back and dirtier than ever!

SOOOOOO, we know there have been a major problem with POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost for a while regarding NPCs exploding rather than going into a ragdoll state for many users. We are sorry this took so long, as we have been spending every last waking minute to work on POSTAL 4, but we are finally fixing a few major issues with our most popular games! Windows only for now - we will update the other builds at a later date.
Fixed
- Exploding NPCs - NPCs should now correctly go into ragdolls on death.
- Gamma settings getting reset
- The game will now start full screen when starting from a fresh install
- FOV changing as you are playing the game (Rare bug that was affecting certain mods)
- Third-person view weapon disappearing
- Various small fixes to some of the underlying systems
- Various fixes to the MP code in order to improve the experience for those playing Nick's Co-op
P.S. We will be fixing some of the most prominent crashes that have come to our attention recently soon, just not yet SORRY!
P.P.S GoG will be updated shortly too.

Ah, Christmas I hope you will excuse the rushed nature of this little holiday message, as I am currently at a bus station, waiting for a bus to visit my relatives. I could have just wrote Merry Christmas, everyone! and left it at that, but I had some more sincere thoughts on the mind that I wanted to share. It would be easy to just wish everyone a merry Christmas, and to say that we hope your holidays are filled with nothing but joy and love, but we know it doesnt always work out that way. While some are finding it easy to cozy up with loved ones, with a big merry feast, others are alone and dealing with hardships. Christmas itself doesnt magically make everything better for everyone, everywhere. A lot of us still end up having to deal with unfortunate circumstances. Maybe you find yourself alone this year. Maybe you are forced to work, or otherwise spend the evening away from your loved ones. Maybe some recent tragedy has left a painful scar. We know all too well how rough life can treat you, when you're supposed to be given some reprieve, at least once a year. But ultimately we cannot expect circumstances to carve our happiness for us, can we? Happiness is not something that just happens; it is hard-fought and earned through striving for it, in spite all the gut-punches that life and circumstance may throw our way. It is self-made, through a stubborn desire to not allow things beyond our control to dictate how we should feel and how we should spend our days. We are the masters of our own fate, and we make our own joy when there is none to be found. That is the resilience of the human spirit. So from the bottom of our hearts, to all our fans, friends, family and loved ones, to all the freaks, NEETs, creeps, loners and weirdos out there, we wish a very Merry Christmas and we sincerely hope that all of you manage to find the will and stubbornness to find some joy and happiness tonight!

Phew, this has taken a while! As we just recently finished up our long promised update for POSTAL Redux, we then got to work on finishing up some other overdue promises for everyone’s favorite urination simulator POSTAL 2, and today we are proud to announce that those promises have come to pass. We have just rolled out the new 5023 update for POSTAL 2 and Paradise Lost!
Owners of POSTAL 2 may have been frustrated for quite a while with a bug making them unable to light gasoline trails – well, no more! Throw those matches and watch that pink fluid erupt in a magnificent flame (just be cool about fire safety). But that’s not the only bug we’ve gone back and fixed – we’ve also patched up a bug that would make the user’s mouse cursor appear over the game after using the voting booth, and we’ve also finally lowered the volume of the Napalm Factory cutscene, so that your eardrums don’t get punished every time you do another playthrough. We’ve also added new language options for Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish, and we’ve rolled out the subtitle and voice over language options for Mac and Linux owners so that more and more people can have easy access to the fun of standing in line for that $5 milk. Meanwhile Paradise Lost is finally getting subtitle options of its own, in English, Chinese and Portuguese, in addition to a whole bunch of bugfixes and adjustments.
But hey, that’s just a small overview of some of the more notable changes and fixes. Feel free to scroll down and check out the full patch notes for more deets. We love you all, and we thank you for your patience with us! <3 Now go away and leave us alone, while we work on new stuff!

Always on the forefront of the cutting-edge technology & practices of more than a decade ago, us humble folk at Running With Scissors are always looking to improve even our oldest games to make them more accessible and more enjoyable for gamers across the world. Today we are proud to release version 5022 of POSTAL 2 which, among other changes, takes us two important steps forward in this never-ending journey:
- Full localization (including spoken audio) in Chinese
- A system which transcribes all in-game spoken dialogue into English, Russian, Chinese or Polish subtitles.
- Chinese localization added! To play the game in a different language, select one through Steam from the Languages tab in the game’s Properties.
- Subtitle system added! At the in-game Audio settings menu, check the “Enable subtitles” option to turn them on. This menu is also where you select your subtitle language and configure the text size.
- Fix for misaligned icons on the HUD.
- Fix for missing book texture in that beloved bookcase.
- Fix for NPCs sometimes not putting away their weapon when done with it.
- Fixed a bug where certain objects would disappear while in plain sight.
- Strict Speedrun Timer option implemented. For expert speedrunners, this option makes it so that the in-game timer is always counting, except during loading screens. Even reloading your game counts against you!

Always on the forefront of the cutting-edge technology & practices of more than a decade ago, us humble folk at Running With Scissors are always looking to improve even our oldest games to make them more accessible and more enjoyable for gamers across the world. Today we are proud to release the version 5022 Windows Update for POSTAL 2 on Steam which, among other changes, takes us two important steps forward in this never-ending journey:
- Full localization (including spoken audio) in Chinese
- A system which transcribes all in-game spoken dialogue into English, Russian, Chinese or Polish subtitles.
- Chinese localization added! To play the game in a different language, select one through Steam from the Languages tab in the games Properties.
- Subtitle system added! At the in-game Audio settings menu, check the Enable subtitles option to turn them on.
- In-game timer position adjusted to not be blocked by the Steam overlay.
- In-game timer no longer displays in places it shouldnt.
- (POSTAL 2) Fix for missing rooms in the night versions of Greenbelt and Industrial Area.

It was in September, 1997 over 19 years ago (well round that out to 20, for marketing reasons) when us humble folk from Running With Scissors unleashed our Robotron-inspired isometric shooter POSTAL to the unsuspecting public at large. It was an instant hit, grabbing the attention of gamers, parents and politicians across the country, and weve been supporting and updating it ever since. But now, (almost) 20 years later, we are entrusting our fans with the future of our game, by releasing its source code to the public. Consider it a belated Christmas present! Its hard to digest how long ago POSTAL was released. Feels like it was only yesterday that our new fans were sending us wonderful e-mail to praise our work, and we received our very first lawsuit notice ah, those were the days. But its true (nearly) 20 years have passed us by. So much has happened in that time, that its hard to even keep track of it all an entire generation has grown into legal adults, while video games have evolved to levels of near-photorealism; plus were finally getting that VR tech that weve been dreaming of since before we released POSTAL. Its been a long and eventful couple of decades, full of change and advancement, but there is one thing that has always remained constant our continued support and updates for our baby. Thanks to the dedicated hard-workers in our team, the loving support of our fans and even the efforts by our detractors, POSTAL has seen a lot of activity during these many years an expansion pack, a lawsuit by the Postal Service, an exclusive Japanese edition, bans in 14 countries across the world, re-released special editions, sequels, digital re-releases, an Android port, new updates with twin-stick controls, a novelization and even an enhanced modern remake. Not too shabby for one of the three worst things in American society, wouldnt you agree? The remake POSTAL Redux was an especially big step for us; a passion project to make the original POSTAL again, but do it better this time, rebuilding it from scratch and focusing on making the most fun and exhilarating twin-stick shooter that we could by patching up the unfortunately outdated design decisions, and improve the game where we could. We even used the opportunity to bring old content, which was exclusive to the Japanese release of the game, to the west for the first time! For anyone who really wants to see how far POSTAL has come in the last two decades, there is no better way than by comparing the original to Redux. Its definitely been a wild ride for us all, and POSTAL means a lot to us its our baby But now were ready to hand the future of the little shooter that could to the public at large. People have been asking, and we have been promising this for years now, but today we are proud to announce that the source code for POSTAL is officially released to the public on Bitbucket, under the GPL2 license. Everyone now has under the hood access, to see what makes POSTAL tick, and anyone with the time and skills can now tweak/change/update/modify anything in the game at all! And hey, if anyone feels the urge to port the game to other platforms (The Dreamcast, for example *wink* *wink*), then they absolutely can! This has been a long time coming, and we are tickled pink to see what the community will be able to put together from this (no seriously, someone get on that Dreamcast port. Were not joking.). Greetings, POSTAL fans! We have a small update for you today which fixes some issues with controller support in the Mac version of the game. The 360 Controller is now properly supported and the input is no longer "scrambled". If you previously used a 360 controller and had to re-bind the "scrambled" inputs, you should use Restore Defaults to restore the original bindings. Enjoy!

Hi all. Yesterday we put out a massive patch for POSTAL 2, Paradise Lost and POSTed. Regretfully, it ended up introducing a game breaking bug in Paradise Lost that prevented users from progressing past Tuesday due to the Mall not loading correctly. This hotfix puts that right, so if you had this issue yesterday please make sure you have the latest update (it's very small) load up your last auto save and all should be okay. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Greetings again, POSTAL fans! The big Steam Summer Sale is here, and we here at Running With Scissors are commemorating the event by bringing you another major patch chock full of new features and a number of fixes for POSTAL 2, Paradise Lost, and the development tools POSTed! Owners of the base POSTAL 2 game will see several enhancements and tweaks we’ve rolled back from Paradise Lost, most notably the footstep sounds which now match type of surface the Dude is walking on. Marvel as your feet produce sounds corresponding to exciting material types such as wood, concrete, metal, grass, and the always thrilling but enigmatic dirt! There are also new NPC interactions and animations and other stuff we’re probably forgetting. Those that own Paradise Lost are now able to access the Workshop in the DLC! Many mods made for POSTAL 2 will also work with Paradise Lost, and we’ve even added a PL edition of POSTed so users can take advantage of the new assets available. (Don’t own Paradise Lost yet? What are you waiting for!? Be sure to pick it up on sale now! So is POSTAL 2 at a deep discount, tell your friends!) The Workshop features have also been updated and now supports unlimited file sizes. Speaking of POSTed, during the development of Paradise Lost, we gave the editor a massive overhaul in order to make it easier to use and more streamlined, and now these improvements are being released for all modders to enjoy! The full changelog for POSTed is far too long to include in this announcement, you can find the full editor change log here Here is the full changelog for 4446. POSTAL 2, Paradise Lost, and POSTed (4446 - All players)
- All players now have access to the 4446 build of POSTAL 2 which comes with several enhanced features previously exclusive to Paradise Lost owners, such as new footstep sounds, extra bystander interactions, and more!

Also, you now have access to the latest UnrealScript source code. If your POSTAL 2 mods did not work with 4444 and up, we recommend recompiling your mod under the new code base. Some mods may need to be updated as some of the underlying UnrealScript code has undergone major changes. If you need assistance, feel free to ask for help in the Workshop section of the discussion boards. For the full list of changes to POSTed, UnrealScript, and engine debugging tools, click here

We can’t begin to say how excited we are here at Running With Scissors. The long hours, the work and the planning have finally ended and we are more than proud to present you with the results of our labors. We definitely won’t say it has always been easy. There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears along the way counteracted with generous amounts of profanity to ease the pain. Unforeseen problems and conflicts were continuously rearing their ugly heads causing delays and setbacks but we stuck to our guns (and shovels and various other types of weaponry) and refused to give in.
Thank you to everyone who worked so diligently on this project. It took a lot of thought, a lot of time and a great deal of effort to achieve what we anticipate will become a jewel in your collection of POSTAL video games. Most of all thank you to our loyal fans. We realize and appreciate that it is our fans who have kept Running With Scissors and the POSTAL video games going strong all these years.
Our goal has always been to do our best to provide whatever our fans asked for. As a direct result of your requests, we are pleased and proud to present PARADISE LOST. We think the end result is worth the wait and sincerely hope you will agree.

What! Who in the Heck is this Dude and what is he up to? Does anybody know? He actually looks kind of perplexed about what’s going on himself. Hopefully we will find out what’s happening in time to get in on the action ourselves. After all, time is running out and nobody likes to get left behind.
There is only a few more short days to go. If you are anything like the gang down here at Running With Scissors, you have your fingernails chewed to the quick with anticipation. You know that the town of Paradise will soon be on the receiving end of action like it has never seen before. Make sure you are ready and able to give the Dude a helping hand when he is fearlessly fighting the battle of a lifetime.
POSTAL 2 is 90% off right now on Steam in celebration of the soon to be launched PARADISE LOST! You can't buy Paradise Lost quite yet. As mentioned earlier it's still a couple of days away, but you can also check out the new Paradise Lost store page for a sneak peak at what is in store!

Some of us are lucky enough to get a good one but they are few and far between, others curse the day this person’s mother and father met. Who am I talking about? The Boss of course!
There are at least two different types of bosses. The good Boss will congratulate us for a job well done or quietly point out our faults and offer advice or help on how to improve our job performance. Unfortunately, most Bosses seem to be of the opposite sort.
The bad Boss is a loud-mouthed menace with a God complex. He/She seems to take sadistic delight in finding fault and humiliating us in front of our fellow workers. The Boss might not say it in so many words but when they are done putting you down there is little doubt that you are the stupidest person on the face of the earth. Your snickering co-workers choose to forget it could be their turn next and just breathe a sigh of relief it’s not them doing the groveling right at the moment.
So what kind of Boss will you find in Paradise Lost? Will they be a good Boss looked up to and admired by their workers? Maybe it will be a good Boss just having a bad day or perhaps the Boss will resemble one of the fiends of Hell let loose on the poor unsuspecting workers.
Find out for yourself on April 17, 2015.
Sometimes when you think you are going to be fired it doesn't hurt to go in and suck up to the boss. When you think you might be fired upon by the boss's shotgun it might be best to give credit to your co-worker and send them in first.
