"Devastated by a killer virus, the world you once knew is a wilderness.
Life is lawless and dangerous. Survivors like you either live in scattered, fortified towns, or roam outside as bandits. YOUR mission is to cross the wilderness to the far-distant oil-refinery at San Anglo and bring vital supplies back to the peaceful town of New Hope. Even in the armed Dodge Interceptor you are given, the journey will be wild and perilous. Will YOU survive?
Freeway Fighter has an extended combat system and new rules to wrestle with. All you need is your two digital dice, some fuel canisters and a little bit of LUCK. YOU decide which way to go, which weapons to use and which dangers to risk!"
Many FF fans around the world will remember when the 13th Fighting Fantasy title dropped on to shop and library shelves in 1985. They were blown away by Jim Burns' iconic cover artwork that captured Ian Livingstone's stylish, dystopian future.
You can now join them by adding Freeway Fighter to your Fighting Fantasy Classics library NOW!

Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown has been released today on Steam for PC VR, which also includes a non-VR mode for players who want to play the game without VR hardware. Previously released for PlayStation VR in 2019, Table of Tales is a true digital tabletop RPG, with the player taking their place at a magical table and controlling a party of scoundrels as they venture through a world of swashbuckling and sorcery.
No tabletop RPG adventure would be complete without a Game Master, thus the magical Table of Tales is presided over by Arbitrix, a mechanical talking bird brought to life by SOVAS Voice Arts award-winning Julie-Ann Dean. Arbitrix is your guide and companion, tasked with narrating your story and pushing the scoundrels into sticky situations they'll need to talk, or fight, their way out of.
Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown is a true Australian collaboration. Tin Man Games originally worked with Screencheat developers, Samurai Punk, to create the PlayStation version. More recently TMG joined forces with Zero One to port the VR game to new platforms. Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: Its been an honour to work with so many great Australian developers on this game over the years. Id like to think this is only the beginning of the Table of Tales journey!
As well as featuring an intriguing, branching narrative that boasts multiple endings, Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown is an experience that needs to be seen and played to truly appreciate the magic. The virtual table is the star of the show, shifting and changing to present players with new grid-based playing environments set in towns, temples, jungles and even on sailing ships that ride across tumultuous seas, all created within the table itself.
Table of Tales is now available to buy on Steam for $24.99 USD with a 10% launch discount. The game can be played on PC, with or without a VR headset, and only needs to be purchased once.
A few years ago we took Steve Jackson's classic Fighting Fantasy gamebook, hired a bunch of writers and artists, and expanded it, turning it into a choose-your-own-superhero-adventure. You can grab it now for half price! https://store.steampowered.com/app/316140/Appointment_With_FEAR/
Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown is a role playing adventure that brings tabletop gaming to life in virtual reality. You must take a seat at the magical table, captain the helm, and lead your party of scoundrels as they venture through a world of swashbuckling and sorcery. If you like The Warlock of Firetop Mountain then Table of Tales is going to blow your swashbuckling socks off!

\ Written by Steve Jackson Are you ready for the most unusual Fighting Fantasy adventure yet? You begin this adventure not knowing where you are or who you are. All you know is that you are some kind of creature of instinct, understanding little. During the course of the adventure, it may be possible for you to begin to control your bestial nature, to find out more about yourself, and even to learn your destiny. But even if you know all this, success is by no means certain, for the traps and terrors of Trolltooth Pass are many ... Are you ready to become the Creature of Havoc?
Written by Ian Livingstone The dark, twisted power of the young Malbordus is reaching its zenith! All he needs now is to retrieve the five dragon artefacts which have been hidden for centuries in the lost city of Vatos, somewhere in the Desert of Skulls. Each day that passes brings him closer to them and only YOU can stop him! YOUR mission is to reach the lost city before Malbordus and destroy the treasures he seeks. But beware! Each step you take leads you closer to your doom ...
Two dice, [strike]a pencil and an eraser[/strike] are all you need to make your journey. YOU decide which route to follow, which dangers to risk and which foes to fight!
Digital & physical game industry legend Ian Livingstone (Co-founder Games Workshop and Fighting Fantasy, Chairman Sumo Group plc), chats to Michael (Wheels) Whelan of Dicebreaker, about the worlds of digital and physical tabletop games.

As part of our $40k Stretch Goal for The Warlock of Firetop Mountain Kickstarter we promised a classic version of TWOFM using our older Gamebook Adventures Engine. It’s taken a while but we can now proudly announce that it will be available in 2018. Not only that but we have big plans for Fighting Fantasy and will be adapting a number of your old favourites in that old engine too!
Press Release: Wednesday 13th December
New Digital Collection of Classic Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks in the Works
Tin Man Games are currently developing Fighting Fantasy Classics, a digital library app for iOS, Android, PC and Mac, that will collect many of the gamebooks from the ever-popular Fighting Fantasy series. The original adventures, written and presented by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson, are being converted to a digital gamebook format. Combat and skill rolls will be resolved by rolling realistic 3D dice, and the famous Adventure sheet, normally found at the front of the books, functions in the game via an autofill system. The library will debut early 2018 and will feature Fighting Fantasy titles previously released by Tin Man Games, along with new adaptations previously unseen in Tin Man’s gamebook engine. Favourites such as The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, The Citadel of Chaos, and City of Thieves will join Bloodbones, Caverns of the Snow Witch, Island of the Lizard King and The Forest of Doom. Neil Rennison, Creative Director for Tin Man Games, said: “We’ve been one of the digital custodians of the Fighting Fantasy license for a number of years now and feel that it’s about time that the original fans, as well as newcomers, are able to play the classics on their smartphones and tablets. We’ve updated our old gamebook engine and plan to release a large number of the gamebooks that players will be able to purchase within the one app.” New releases will be staggered across the next 18 months and will include Deathtrap Dungeon, Sword of the Samurai and Creature of Havoc amongst many others. Where possible Tin Man Games will use the original artwork from the gamebooks as well as adding new illustrations to bring the interactive adventures to life. Neil continued: “We also have plans to include lots of extras over time, including music options, new dice designs and page skins. There are a lot of titles in the original collection that have never been re-published, so it’s a very exciting time for Fighting Fantasy fans!” Fighting Fantasy Classics will be available to download in February 2018 for iOS and Android. It will also be available on PC and Mac via Steam a few months later.

Oriana the Soulkeeper Gold Figurine - work with other players and decipher the unlock code!
We've just added a new Legends figurine collection to the latest update of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. Over the next few months we'll be releasing special figurines that can be used in the Goblin Gauntlet. Our first release is Oriana, the keeper of Souls! YOU must work together with other players to decipher a code phrase hidden within Firetop Mountain. Once you have the phrase completed you can enter it to unlock her figurine. Check the forums to share codes and slowly build up the special phrase, which has a very Fighting Fantasy flavour! RULES 1) Play as any one of the fifteen base heroes in the game. 2) Complete the quest related to the hero. 3) Oriana will give you three numbers separated with a dash like this: X-X-X 4) The three numbers reference a word from the title of one of the original Fighting Fantasy books released by Puffin Books between 1982 and 1995. The comprehensive wiki list can be found here. The first number relates to the order of the words within the phrase. The second number relates to book number in the list. The third number relates to the word in the book title. For example, the word relating to 10-5-3 would reference the 3rd word 'Thieves' from the title of FF book 5. It would then be the 10th word in the code phrase. 5) Share your code on the forums in the following thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/324740/discussions/0/1483232961045251521/ 5) Once all fifteen words have been deciphered, enter the phrase with spaces to unlock the figurine! GOOD LUCK ADVENTURERS!
Patch v7070 Notes
- Changed layout of main menu and character selection, splitting character groups into 'Story' and 'Gauntlet' modes. Previous saves will not be overriden until you have selected a character. - Some improvements have been made to scene loading times.
Oriana the Soulkeeper - new Legends figurine!
Next week we're releasing our first figurine from the new Legends collection - Oriana the Soulkeeper! This is a special community event and in order to unlock her you will need to work together, deciphering her figurine code by completing quests and posting them on the forums. Watch out for a new update and have a great weekend!
Save game news, and Free Souls!
We have reworked our save system to solve our Steam Cloud issue as the previous fix caused issues with users playing on multiple computers. Please contact us if you still have problems saving after updating to this latest patch. Please ensure you're running the latest patch before running the game. Due to this some players have lost progress through the mountain. To help get everyone back on their feet, we've added a way to 'cash in' codes for souls. In this update, the options menu has an 'Enter Code' button: select this and enter IMAGOBLIN to gain 300 souls immediately!
We have also added a 'Load from Local' button. If you still have problems with Steam Cloud saves, you can press this to load a backup local save that isn't synced to Steam Cloud. This is only for emergency use as it will override your main local save, so use it only if you have entered the game again and find yourself with less souls or missing characters. This will only work for saved games lost in this latest update.
Patch Notes
- Fixed the steam cloud saving bugs - Fixed a Linux library issue - Fixed a interface problem with selecting the DLC characters with a gamepad. We are working on fixing other gamepad issues in a later patch.
- Fixed the save game issue on first playthrough. We have implemented multiple approaches to fixing this bug, so please let us know if there are any more problems with saving at checkpoints or resuming your game. - Fixed a crash in the snake battle in the Goblin Scourge DLC.
- Removed a visual glitch where DLC characters would appear to cost souls. - Fixed a bulletin issue - Changed system requirements for Goblin Scourge - Fixed some bugs at the end of the Goblin Gauntlet.
Get the Goblin Scourge to unlock three new heroes, six playable monsters and an explosive new location.
The sound of scurrying feet fills the caverns of Firetop Mountain... the Goblin Scourge is unleashed! Play as three characters journeying through the lair of the goblins and uncover the bizarre rituals and plots of their horde.
The Goblin Gauntlet
As part of the Goblin Scourge pack are six playable characters based on monsters found throughout Firetop Mountain. These monsters will journey through a streamlined version of the mountain known as the Goblin Gauntlet, where death is permanent and souls are plenty.
Save game Warning
Due to a Steam problem pre-release, the first few playthroughs of new and old players alike may have problems saving at resting benches. This bug is fixed but may take time to propagate from Steam's saving system. A clear sign that this bug will affect you is if the resurrection stones in your inventory are greyed out and unable to be used. This save file bug should sort itself out but may be a problem for a short time - Closing and reopening Steam should force the save files to refresh.
Other Fixes
- Added a "Character" button to the main menu. This allows you to browse characters without overwriting your saved game.
- Reworked Twenty-Three's attacks.
- Fixed an audio issue where ambient sound would continue to play after SFX had been turned off.
- Fixed an issue where players would be given 6 resurrection stones.
- Fixed some issues with character pathing.
With just a day to go until we release our first paid DLC for The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, we wanted to highlight our third adventurer, Haldar Eriksson!
Attack Patterns:
Shielded Slash - Haldar utilises both his wits and small shield in a careful executed attack (Haldar cannot be damaged while using this attack).
Dagger Storm - Hurling a trio of throwing daggers, Haldar can retreat to a safer distance.
Quest Intro:
As a traveling bard and adventurer, you live by your wits and charm. Unfortunately, the good citizens of Ashkyos, and particularly Stavian’s Gambling Hall, disagree with your assessment of wit and charm.
You don’t want to get into how it happened, but you borrowed an extremely valuable sword from the pit boss, a humorless Half-Orc named Gurgen, and you promptly lost it to a strange Gnome from Neuberg. Long story short, Gurgen values getting his sword back more than he values breaking your arms and legs… for now.
Your inquiries have led you to the town of Anvil. According to the leads you have been following, a “funny-looking” Dwarf was in Hullgrim’s Tavern two weeks earlier, bragging about a great sword that they had in their possession. You suspect this so-called Dwarf is actually your card-playing nemesis Gnome.
If the stories the patrons in the tavern say are true, the Gnome was waylaid by a band of Hill Goblins and drowned...his body drifting downstream into the heart of Firetop Mountain. In a perfect world you would take a boat down the river into the mountain, but the waterways wind themselves through underground passageways making it impossible.
The only way is to go through the back door; a cave entrance you have been told about, used by the Goblins. With luck you manage to find it at the top of a steep, rocky pass on the western side of the mountain. Gripping your dagger and wooden shield you cautiously enter.
Your adventure starts here!
With just a few days to go until we release our first paid DLC for The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, we wanted to highlight our three new heroes who are about to head into Zagor's dreaded mountain!
Our second adventurer is Ophelia Lapwing ...
Attack Patterns:
Blindside - A quick slash of her blade and suddenly Ophelia has shifted places.
Ethereal Feint - A deceptive attack that cannot be parried or blocked (this attack automatically wins ANY clash).
Quest Intro:
At last your two-day hike is over. It took longer than you thought as you skirted your home of Darkwood Forest, avoiding encounters with the dangerous beasts that lurk within.
For once your quest is not about treasure and glory, but instead one of knowledge. Darkwood Forest itself is in peril, the very life seems to be draining from the trees themselves. The once majestic trees are succumbing to a strange, magical disease that makes them wither and rot within a matter of weeks. Young saplings, which would have once taken their place are also failing to grow.
You need to find out why this is happening and the so-called Warlock of Firetop Mountain may hold some clues, or at worse be directly involved with the potential catastrophe. You fear that unless you can find a cure, the forest will be doomed.
You lower yourself down on to the mossy rocks to sit for a moment’s rest, the mountain looming above you. Since leaving your home you have been feeling unwell. At first it felt like fatigue, but more recently you have been sleeping fitfully and your skin has become feverishly hot to touch.
After some time you make your way up a steep, rocky slope to a small opening in a cliff wall. You have seen Goblins making their way to and from this entrance and you’re quite sure this is a possible entrance into Zagor’s domain.
Your adventure starts here!
With just a few days to go until we release our first paid DLC for The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, we wanted to highlight our three new heroes who are about to head into Zagor's dreaded mountain!
First up Vignor Firestorm ...
Attack Patterns:
Reckless Charge - Not one to think when there is an opportunity to act, Vignor charges into the fray without hesitation.
Stunning Sweep - Vignor cleaves the area before him, stunning enemies.
Quest Intro:
"Your raging anger has driven you towards the mountain. For days you have been travelling across Allansia, seeking this strange peak. Your desire to reach this foreboding place is driven by your need to spill blood. Goblin blood.
The ransacking of one of your father's homesteads along the River Kok, north of Anvil, was one incursion too many by a band of notorious Hill Goblins. With permission from your father, the famed Magnus Firestorm, you have made it your mission to hunt down these filthy creatures and restore honor to the Firestorm name.
You have tracked the pillaging Goblins for many days. It also seems they have been tracking you too though, based on information you throttled from a Goblin scout that crossed your path. The ugly, warty creature had been following you closely for two nights as you made your way through dense scrubland on the Pagan Plains. You led the poor wretch into a rocky cleft that you knew had no way out, and tracked back to complete your entrapment.
His chieftain, named Scarclaw, had given orders to keep an eye on you after you were spotted riding south from the burning farms and villages. If you tarried too close to Firetop Mountain, he was to overtake you and warn his brethren. This will now never happen.
The mountain looms over you like a monstrous giant as you near. You've heard stories of a mysterious Warlock residing within and you just hope that the pillaging creatures work alone, or you'll be spilling more than just Goblin blood this day.
You grip the hilt of your great sword and stride purposefully up the steep, rocky slope. Ahead of you is a small opening in a sheer cliff-face that the Goblins have been using as a way into the mountain.
Your adventure starts here!"
At the end of July, it's time to return to Firetop Mountain! Three new heroes will be venturing into a whole new section of Zagor's domain on personal quests of vengeance, recovery and rebirth.
As well as the three new heroes and new areas to explore, Zagor has also unleashed a slew of monsters to control. Take your favourite Fighting Fantasy monster out of the pit and into the game!
Watch for more announcements over the next month!
The Allansian Wanderers, Lin Wen-Wu, Lynette Hurtado and Malleus Malleus can now be unlocked for just 100 Souls!

We are pleased to announce that The Warlock of Firetop Mountain now features controller support! If you attended PAX Aus, you would have had a sneak preview, but we've found and squashed a few more bugs since then.
By default, the game will select Xbox Controller functionality, but if you prefer to use a Steam Controller, we recommend that you set the 'Gamepad Type' to Steam Controller for the best experience. This setting can be found under the 'Game' tab in Settings:
We hope that you continue to enjoy the game, and the best of luck in your travels through Firetop Mountain. May your STAMINA never fail!

The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is a tabletop adventure come to life! This fantasy solo RPG combines unique, simultaneous turn-based combat with a journey that changes based on each figurine you take into Firetop Mountain! Which hero will you take into Zagor's lair THIS time?
The original 1982 Fighting Fantasy paperback by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson has been transformed into an epic domain, with new areas to explore, characters to meet, and of course, monsters to slay! Zagor's home builds right before your eyes as you travel deep into the belly of the mountain.
Each character has their own motivations for being in Firetop Mountain, changing the way the gamebook is written and choices presented. Combat is fought using the digital miniatures in a simultaneous, real-time system called GridBluff, and the game includes over 100 unique hero and monster figurines to discover.
The Warlock of Firetop Mountain is currently in development. Follow here to keep up to date of upcoming news towards its release.
