These are limited to one per pond and produce legendary fish roe. Each fish has a unique water color. * You can now place beds and sleep inside any constructed buildings that allow furniture. * Items dropped in water now float for a short time, so you can collect them if you're quick or have a magnet ring. * Sam and Shane now have work portraits while working at JojaMart. * Slightly tweaked some dialogues. * Added new Easter eggs. * Added hidden cheat commands ### Balance changes * Blue grass no longer grows slower than normal grass. * Fruit tree growth is no longer blocked by grass and seed spots. * Pine trees now drop one extra wood when chopped down. * The initiation quest now counts wild slimes killed on the farm. * Thorns ring damage now stacks if you equip two of them, and monsters killed by a thorns ring now drop loot like regular kills. * With the Gatherer skill, the chance to double harvested forage now applies when using an iridium scythe too. * Son of Crimsonfish can now be caught during the night market. * Robin no longer constructs buildings during green rain in year 1. * Placing a bomb and then switching to a weapon no longer applies its enchantments to the bomb damage. * Added some items to shops: * Adventurer's Guild: Rusty Sword, Femur, Elf Blade, Steel Smallsword, Crystal Dagger, Obsidian Edge, and Work Boots. These unlock after you reach a certain mine level, regardless of whether you found them in a mine chest. * Marnie's shop: Cow Decal. * Hat mouse: Sports Cap. * Willy's shop: Advanced Iridium Rod. * Passing trains are now more likely to happen multiple times in the same session, but can no longer appear on consecutive days. * Willy's shop now opens on spring 2 in the first year even if you didn't read his letter. * Fixed Queen of Sauce reruns being affected by the recipes needed by unclaimed farmhands in empty cabins. * Fixed being able to receive monster damage while jumping down a mine shaft before the screen fades to black. * Fixed spa not fully recovering energy when a max-energy buff is active. * Fixed sleeping late while exhausted not reducing stamina as intended. * Fixed the catalogue and Furniture Catalogue selling items from themed catalogues like Retro Catalogue. * Fixed exploit where a fish pond with a golden cracker could produce unlimited output. Dear Chinese players:
We've received a lot of feedback about the changes made in Stardew Valley version 1.6.4.
Therefore, we decided to revert the translation changes and fonts to version 1.6.3. (The smooth font will still be an option). This change will be made in the coming days.
In the future, we will take a more cautious approach to translation modifications and pay more attention to community feedback. I apologize for any confusion or stress this has caused. Thank you for playing and supporting Stardew Valley.

Hello everyone,
Today is Stardew Valley's 8th anniversary. That's a long time, I can't believe it's been so long. But the game is doing great, especially here on Steam which was the first platform I launched the game on, and have always considered it "home". It's an honor that Stardew Valley has been so well-received here on Steam, and I thank all of you for playing the game and creating a cool community around it!
What better day than today to announce the new 1.6 update release date:
March 19th, 2024
This update adds some new content to the game. I will release patch notes on the day of launch, but I think it would be more fun for you to just play the update and discover everything yourself. The update will work perfectly fine with your existing save files, but I'd recommend starting a new file to get all the new stuff in context (and because it's always fun to start a new file). You may even want to start with the new farm type. With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and now over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever. All of this is possible because of you, the players, so I just want to say THANK YOU very much. I hope you enjoy the update when the time comes, and I'll see you in 3 weeks! -Ape
Here is a "sneak peek" at some of the stuff that will be coming in the 1.6 update. I have no release date for it yet, but will release it as soon as it's ready. The content is pretty close to being finished, but then there will need to be testing, polishing and translations before it can launch on PC.
Thank you for playing Stardew Valley!

Stardew Valley is 20% off for a week. During this time, 100% of all revenue will go to help protect whales, dolphins, belugas, and other aquatic mammals through the WDC (Whale and Dolphin Conservation) charity. Thank you for your support.
I really like Belugas.
A big thank you to all Steam players for supporting Stardew Valley these past 7 years!
I can't believe it's been so long.
Since launch:
-4 major content updates
-Multiplayer update
-ports to all major platforms
-translations into 11 new languages
-The official Stardew Valley Wiki
-merchandise
-Stardew Valley board game
-Musical collaborations like the Orchestral recording by vgm classics
-The Stardew Valley Cup
-Launch of the official Stardew Valley forums
-A thriving modding community
and most importantly, a fantastic player community that has added a ton of depth and life to this world. So as always, I want to thank YOU for being part of this, and helping to make Stardew Valley what it is today. None of this would have been possible without your support and I will always be thankful for that.
Up next? A 1.6 update that is focused on adding tons of new support for modders. This will make modding a lot easier and much more powerful.
I will also be working on my next game, Haunted Chocolatier.

Hey everyone, 1.5.6 is out now. It's a small patch that fixes a few bugs, adds a "quality of life" feature for multi-monitor users, and addresses a few gameplay inconsistencies that have been around for a long time (i.e. the hoe dirt under mature forage crops de-spawning, and indoor grass dying in winter) - On multi-monitor setups, the game now remembers and restores on the last used monitor. - Potential fix for a random crash that could occur at the end of the night. - Fixed a bug that prevented the various farm types' wallpapers and floorings from applying when starting a new game. - Fixed a bug where pressing ESC to dismiss the level up screen would dismiss the menu without applying the level up, causing it to reappear every night. - Hoed dirt no longer decays under forage items on the farm. This ensures that dirt under freshly grown seasonal forage seeds can no longer disappear randomly. - Grass placed indoors no longer dies when seasons change to Winter. - Fixed being unable to harvest Tea Saplings placed on Garden Pots on Ginger Island. - Fixed an issue where the Z key would be unbindable after resetting controls to the default. - Fixed map screenshots not functioning on Linux. - Updated Steamworks.NET to 20.0.0. As always, thanks for playing Stardew Valley! -Ape Hotfix at 1:00PM PST 12/22: - Fixed a crash when starting the game in Compatibility mode on MacOS. - Fixed being unable to move the game window from one desktop to another in certain monitor configurations. - Fixed an issue that prevented selecting a profession using a gamepad. You should be able to re-select any missed professions the next day. - Fixed garden pots automatically harvesting when moused over. - Fixed Emily's patio decorations being one tile above where they should be.
Hey everyone,
1.5.5 just went live. It's a small update, which doesn't add new content, but has some important technical changes for modders, some quality of life changes, and some bug fixes:
[Architectural changes]
- Migrated the game from XNA (targeting .NET Framework 4.5.2) to MonoGame (targeting .NET 5). This futureproofs the game and allows mods to access more than 4 gigs of RAM.
- Made various internal changes for mod authors.
[Quality of life changes]
- Holding the CTRL key in addition to shift now lets you purchase/craft stacks of 25 items at a time.
- When starting a new save, many settings now default to what they were the last time you played the game. Some settings like zoom level, gamepad mode, and multiplayer server privacy aren't copied over.
- You can now build or move farm buildings onto artifact spots. This destroys the artifact spots.
- You can now nudge pets out of the way while building/moving a building by clicking on them.
- You can now buy back items accidentally sold in the same shopping session.
- The in-game time is now shown on the upper-right hand corner of the screen when playing Journey of the Prairie King in multiplayer.
- Grass placed using Grass Starter during Winter no longer disappears when the game is reloaded (but it still won't grow or spread).
[Localization fixes]
- Fixed Shane's 6-heart event soft-locking in the Hungarian translation.
- Fixed incorrect backslash characters in various events in the Hungarian localization.
- Fixed typos in the French localization.
- Fixed a typo in Livin' Off The Land that incorrectly states that Super Cucumber can be caught in Winter.
[Cosmetic fixes]
- Added commas to the price display on the various building construction menus.
- Adjusted collisions in the Calico Desert to avoid a minor sorting issue on the top-left edge of the raised cliffside.
- Fixed issue where Sebastian's sprite would shift into an invalid position at 1:00 PM when he's working on his bike on the farm.
[General fixes]
- After completing the Cryptic Note quest, subsequently reaching the 100th floor of the Skull Cavern will guarantee a loot chest.
- Fixed an issue where hard mode mines could become permanently enabled.
- The Blacksmith profession now affects Radioactive Bars.
- Garden Pots no longer lose any applied fertilizers when they are harvested from.
- Fixed the explosion radius not being centered when dislodging flooring and certain other types of items.
- When placing a Garden Pot on Ginger Island on a rainy day, it will now spawn with its dirt correctly watered.
- Fixed an issue where moving a cabin with a cellar would cause the stairs to the cellar to warp the players out of bounds for the rest of the play session.
- Fixed a case where entering the Farm from the south on horseback and triggering an event could cause the player to get stuck in a wall.
- Fixed various invisible tiles preventing certain spots in the Mountain lake from spawning fish activity bubbles.
- Fixed the tile holding the plant on Elliott's table not being passable from behind.
- Fixed some tiles on the left side of the beach farm being unbuildable.
If, for any reason, you want to play on the "legacy" 32-bit version, it's still available on Steam (right click Stardew > properties > betas > select "Compatibility" version).
If you are a modder, please check out PathosChild's 1.5.5 migration guide, which goes into greater depth on some of the changes in this patch.
A 1.5.6 update is also currently underway. We're working directly with PathosChild (creator of SMAPI, a very popular Stardew modding tool) to add even more modding support to the game, including some long requested "holy grail" changes which should make some aspects of modding much easier in the future. We've given PathosChild source code access to help us accomplish this task.
There may be some new content in 1.5.6, too, but it's not going to be anything huge like 1.5.
Thanks for playing Stardew Valley!

1.5 adds a big piece of new content to the "end-game" of Stardew Valley.
Now, completing the Community Center is just the beginning...
It's not all about end-game content, though... there's plenty of new stuff all throughout the game, as well as useful improvements and convenience features.
This update also adds local (split-screen) co-op.
I like to keep most of the big stuff secret, so that you'll be surprised when you encounter it in game.
However, if you don't mind spoiling it, and want to know everything that's in the update,
here's a full changelog.
A no-spoiler list of some of the new features:
- Local (split-screen) co-op
- New people to meet
- New goals
- Many new items
- A new type of quest
- A new farm layout
- New game options like "remixed" bundles (see below)
- New character events
- A new Community Upgrade
- Home renovations (after you've fully upgraded your house)
- Ducks can now swim
- You can sit in chairs
- You can move your bed
- Fish Tanks
- A bunch of new furniture items as well as new furniture types like wall sconces
- New secrets
- 9 new music tracks
- And so much more... you'll just have to see, I can't bear to spoil it
Edit: We're aware of a crash if you're playing in a non-english language and you open one of the Community Center bundle menus. A hotfix will be coming out soon (Update 5:00pm PST... the hotfix is live!)

On a side note, I recently announced that Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies (probably closer to 12 million), and the majority of sales have been here on Steam. Hi Everyone, The 1.4.3 patch is now out, which fixes a few more bugs/problems with the 1.4 update: - Fixed an issue where you could collect multiples of a bundle's reward in the community center if you closed the menu without collecting them. - Fixed an issue where naming your pet the name of an NPC could have your pet appear on the calendar on that NPC's birthday. - Fixed an item duplication exploit when using the add to existing stacks button on an inventory with a full stack. - Made some fixes to the Turkish localization. - Fixed a bug in the Crafting Menu that could cause extra resources to be consumed in certain situations. - Adjusted the Four Corners farm map to fix layering issue with buildings. - Fixed a bug where you could enter Wizard's Tower before unlocking the Community Center. - Taking a map screenshot while the option to show menu backgrounds is on will no longer render the menu in the screenshot. Fixed an issue causing certain wallpapers to grant a Lost Book when selected in the Catalogue. - Fixed an issue where you could get your grange score immediately after asking Lewis to judge your grange during the Stardew Valley Fair. Thanks for playing! -Ape
Hi everyone, A new patch is out (1.4.2) to fix some more bugs in the recent content update: Change Log: - Fixed an issue where the
Crane Game
would crash on load on Mac builds. - Fixed workbenches not pulling items from chests that are on rugs. - Fixed an issue where Robin would stay in bed if she was upgrading certain buildings on game load. - Reverted placement rules introduced in 1.4.1 which prevented players for creating flooring or torches on their Spouse's porch tiles. Instead, Spouses will now ignore flooring and will "pop off" any torches that are placed in those tiles when they move there in the morning. - Fixed a bug where buying a
magic rock candy from the desert trader
, exiting to title, and then re-loading the game would cause it to not re-appear in the shop. - Fixed a crash when mashing the dialogue advance buttons while transitioning between maps during an event. - Fixed another way the club smash could cause the player to get "stuck" holding out a weapon. - Resolved some issues where non-user initiated mouse movements could cause changes in mouse button states to not register. - Fixed a potential soft-lock that would occur if you passed out on another player's bed. - Fixed a problem where the screen would be partially faded out when Demetrius comes to ask you about the farm cave. - Clicking the Emoji menu toggle button on gamepad no longer shows onscreen keyboard. - Adjusted rumble on third party controllers. This may not fully solve issues on certain third party controllers, but will at least prevent states where the rumble is stuck on. - Fixed an issue where characters would greet you via speech bubble even if they weren't in the same location (for instance, Elliot welcoming you into his shack, even though he is standing at the beach) - Disabled being able to perform certain actions (like using a Return Scepter) during overnight farm events. - Farmers who are knocked out while holding an item will now properly animate the knocked out animation. - Fixed an issue where the tool being upgraded at Clint's could be set to an invalid value, causing Lewis to incorrectly send you a set of tools every night. If you're still experiencing any issues after this patch, please describe the issue in the comments below. Thanks for playing! -Ape
Hi everyone, A bug-fix patch (version 1.4.1) is now available for Stardew Valley, which fixes some of the bugs found since the launch of 1.4. Here are some of the more important fixes:
- MULTIPLAYER: Fixed an issue where farmhand's separate wallets would be reset to 500g if the host was playing on Mac or Linux
- Fixed problem harvesting crops with the
golden scythe
.
- Added a new Gamepad Mode selection to the options menu. The default setting ("Auto") will automatically switch between keyboard and mouse controls depending on the last used input (this should be fine for most players). "Force on" forces the game to use gamepad logic, similar to earlier versions of Stardew Valley. "Force off" disables the gamepad and can be used if you only play the game using a keyboard and mouse.
- Fixed bug where you could enter the
sewer
on your horse, causing you to warp into the void.
- Fixed a bug where Clint would attempt to upgrade your weapon (he can't), causing your tool to be lost.
- Fixed a problem where farmhands who disconnected while leveling up could miss out on their level up perks.
- Fixed a soft-lock scenario in shop menus. You can also now buy recipes with a full inventory.
-
Trash bear
no longer appears on festival days, preventing a potential crash.
- Fixed a crash when checking the calendar while engaged to another farmer that is currently disconnected from the game.
- You can now purchase the museum rarecrows from the night market after you've unlocked them.
- Various controller fixes
- Many more bug fixes, see link below if you're interested!

This update is a significant change for Stardew Valley... Not only does it include a good amount of new content (new items, events, etc.), but it also includes the long-awaited addition of co-op multiplayer!
New Features:
A traveling festival comes to town For three days in winter, a traveling festival visits Pelican Town. Unlike a normal festival, farmers can come and go as they please, and the location isn't "locked out" at any point (there's no setup). Pelican Town is different for a few days, and most of the townspeople's schedules change to reflect that. The festival offers farmers a once-a-year chance to acquire unique items, purchase an original work of art from the famous Lupini, enjoy some live entertainment, and more....
A winter mystery... and a new collection type In winter, farmers might encounter a strange event... which will ultimately grant them the ability to start a new, "secret" type of collection. This new ability will surely result in unusual new adventures and greater knowledge...
Help someone out in town... Farmers who have made great progress for themselves will have the opportunity to help someone in a significant way... New Character Events There are new character events, some of which grant you permanent bonuses. There are also a couple of "secret" events that you'll only encounter if certain conditions are met.
Skull Cavern Changes
- 3 new monster types added (more powerful versions of familiar enemies)
- "Treasure Rooms" added (rare chance of finding a room with a chest containing useful items... including two that can't be found any other way)
- A new reason to attempt a deep dive...
Signs Signs are craftable items which are available to you from the very beginning of the game. Any item in Stardew Valley can be "clicked" onto the sign, and it will display that item (the item won't be consumed).
Decorations A variety of new outdoor decorations have been added, including many that are "seasonal", meaning that their appearance changes with each season. Multiplayer makes decorating even more fun.
Auto-Grabber An expensive item that can be placed in a barn and automatically harvests milk and wool from the animals each morning. Garden Pots Garden pots allow you to grow any crop indoors year-round. Think of them like one-tile greenhouses. When placed outside, however, they only grow crops that are in-season.
New Crop There is a new crop that only grows indoors. Fireplaces are now furniture This means you can move your fireplace around, and also buy a couple of different kinds of fireplaces. Hats on horses You can now put hats on your horse. Enjoy... (this was actually an original intended feature in Stardew Valley two years ago, but I never finished it and had completely forgotten about it. Now it's finally finished)
Now, a more in-depth look at how multiplayer works... Stardew Valley now supports up to 4 player co-op. Co-op is nearly identical to single-player, but with 1-3 other friends playing together with you to achieve a common goal. Any single player game can be "converted" to a co-op game by having Robin build one or more cabins on your farm. One player serves as the host, and the other 1-3 players connect to the host in order to play. Therefore, the host must be in-game at all times when the group wants to play. The new update adds a Co-op button to the title screen. Clicking the button will bring you to the co-op menu, from which you can:
- Host a new co-op game
- Re-host an existing co-op game
- Join a new farm (provided that any of your friends are hosting and have a cabin available for you)
- Re-join a farm (provided that the host is in-game)
- Join a LAN game (by entering the IP address of the host)
- Enter an invite code (generated by the host) to join a game (this allows for Steam/GOG crossplay)
- "Starting Cabins" gives you the choice to start a new game with 1-3 cabins pre-positioned on the farm. If you decide to go this route, you'll have two "Cabin Layouts" to choose from: "Nearby", which places the cabins close to one another, encouraging a communal farming style, and "Separate", which places the cabins far apart and allows for more independence.
- "Profit Margin" adjusts the profit margin of goods that you sell. You can choose between "Normal" (the original Stardew Valley amount), "75%", "50%", and "25%". This is, in effect, a way to increase the difficulty of the game. For larger groups of experienced players, it might be desired. However, keep in mind that there already is some "scaling" of difficulty built into the game, since each player will need to upgrade their own tools, upgrade their own houses, buy bigger packs, etc.
In co-op, all players share the same pool of money, and are working together on the same farm. The state of the game world, including the main storyline, is shared between all players. However, each player has their own private inventory, skills, achievements, collections, relationships, quests, and crafting/cooking recipes. When it's time to go to bed, all players must enter their beds. Only then will the day end. Players can marry each other by crafting a "wedding ring" (An old Zuzu City tradition), and offering it to another player. If the other player accepts the ring, the couple is now engaged. The chat box allows you to communicate with each other... with the help of nearly 200 custom Stardew Valley emojis!
Here's a trailer: https://youtu.be/-vlBE3vSfNU I hope you enjoy the new update! -Ape

You've inherited your grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won't be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town's most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!
Features
- Turn your overgrown field into a lively farm! Raise animals, grow crops, start an orchard, craft useful machines, and more! You'll have plenty of space to create the farm of your dreams.
- Improve your skills over time. As you make your way from a struggling greenhorn to a master farmer, you'll level up in 5 different areas: farming, mining, combat, fishing, and foraging. As you progress, you'll learn new cooking and crafting recipes, unlock new areas to explore, and customize your skills by choosing from a variety of professions.
- Become part of the local community. With over 30 unique characters living in Stardew Valley, you won't have a problem finding new friends! Each person has their own daily schedule, birthday, unique mini-cutscenes, and new things to say throughout the week and year. As you make friends with them, they will open up to you, ask you for help with their personal troubles, or tell you their secrets! Take part in seasonal festivals such as the luau, haunted maze, and feast of the winter star.
- Explore a vast, mysterious cave. As you travel deeper underground, you'll encounter new and dangerous monsters, powerful weapons, new environments, valuable gemstones, raw materials for crafting and upgrading tools, and mysteries to be uncovered.
- Breathe new life into the valley. Since JojaMart opened, the old way of life in Stardew Valley has changed. Much of the town's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair. Help restore Stardew Valley to it's former glory by repairing the old community center, or take the alternate route and join forces with Joja Corporation.
- Court and marry a partner to share your life on the farm with. There are 10 available bachelors and bachelorettes to woo, each with unique character progression cutscenes. Once married, your partner will live on the farm with you. Who knows, maybe you'll have kids and start a family?
