Hello! I hope you're doing well. If you didn't know, Moonlit Works participated in the Summer Novel Festival 2020 and our entry, Without Romance, is now out on Steam. I hope you like it! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1409610/Without_Romance/
Other Moonlit updates
Another short visual novel is coming out soon! Layover Lovers. A terminal love story.
Stay tuned for updates on our current project as well. A rhythm visual novel titled Bubblegum Beat.

What in the moon is this?!
We just wanted to let everyone know that we have updated this little project with [strike]new[/strike] better assets! We are very proud with how it turned out, despite the rather unambitious concept behind it. We've also added a new achievement for those who checks out the updated version!
But this is a five-year-old game. Why update it now?
Good question! There were two things that pushed us to go ahead with this idea. As you may know, Carpe Diem was a little solo project, and while it was well-received somehow, most criticism about it is regarding the low quality of its assets. We thought that improving it would let people enjoy the story more. Another reason is that we treat our Steam Creator's page as the team's online portfolio of some sort, and updating the assets of this project would help us make it appealing.
Can I still get the old stuff?
You can find the old version in the DLC. Eyzi wants to get rid of his old works entirely, but he agreed to leave it there. The new sprites, backgrounds, and music are so good, though! We highly recommend checking it out.
We hope you enjoy this update! Everyone who worked and helped with the update, as well as the translations, are all amazing.
While we're at it, We'd like to mention the current project of Moonlit Works. We have another visual novel in development. It is a music-centered story titled Bubblegum Beat. Below is an image of the two main girls: Nao (left) and Veni (right).
You can find more project updates and other things on our Twitter!

Just a quick announcement!
It's been over a year since Reboot was released and we have been quiet for a while. We've been playing around with a few ideas and we've finally decided on what to work on next!
Our current project is a visual novel titled Whence We Love. The characters in the image above are the three main girls of the story. From left to right: Rae, Daisy, and Ella.
If you want to support the development and follow our progress with it, you can become a patron on our Patreon page! We will post WIPs there as well as a general update with a bonus artwork every month.

Just because it crashed doesn't mean it's over
After so many requests, and after a few months of trial and error, I finally came up with the perfect story for a sequel and I'm ready to do it. I have started writing the story but I thought I'd give you guys a heads up and a few information about it. It will be titled 'Carpe Diem: Reboot' and, as you may have guessed already, Ai... reboots. It will continue exactly where the first one left off, but this time the story will revolve around Ai and her struggles. The last part of 'Carpe Diem' will even be included in the sequel as the prologue, but with better art, music, and interface. The first one did really well but it had its shortcomings which I'd like to make up for in the sequel. It will be longer (about 3~5 hours of gameplay), and will have multiple endings. No more MS Paint-tier background art. Character sprites will have more poses and emotions. There will be more than two soundtracks, and they're going to be way better. Last but not least, we will finally hear Ai's voice! However, this project will be bigger, and I won't be able to do it solo like the previous one. This is where I need your support. I've started a Kickstarter campaign for it where the funds will be taken from. The funds will be used to pay for the assets that the sequel needs. To show my thanks for your support, you will receive a reward if the campaign turns out successful. Kickstarter Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/178238554/carpe-diem-reboot If you want to support the sequel but can't back it on Kickstarter, fret not. You can still show your support by upvoting the project on Steam Greenlight. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=681290328 I hope this gets enough support from the people because I'm really excited to show you what I have prepared for the sequel. If you think the first one was sad... then I'm even more excited.

With the help of a few volunteers, Carpe Diem is now officially available in Spanish, Polish, Bahasa, French, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Russian, German, Brazilian, Italian and Simplified Chinese. A few others are on their way! I'm delighted to see some people interested in making this happen despite the fact that the VN is very/extremely short. Thanks to everyone who volunteered as well as to everyone who will be volunteering. I hope this becomes convenient to people who would want to read this in their native language. If there are interests in translating Carpe Diem into a language not listed above, feel free to add me up and send me a message here on Steam. This update includes the available translations as well as some grammar or spelling corrections. If there are still mistakes, please let me know. Thanks! EDIT: The translation project for Carpe Diem is now closed. Thank you to all the volunteers!

First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who has supported, read, enjoyed and liked Carpe Diem. I did not have high hopes with it as it was my first work. In fact, when it was still on Steam Greenlight, I was very anxious if it will even get approved. However, the outcome was far beyond my expectations and I'm really grateful for that. It has been a great experience for me and it made me happy to see a lot of review, most of it positive, just shortly after it was released. I really really appreciate it. Thank you! That being said, I'd like to take time to share a few things and answer some popular questions while I am at it. A lot of people mentioned some grammar and spelling errors in the dialogues. I really apologize for that. I encourage everyone to kindly let me know if you find these and I will fix it as soon as I can. I've received a few requests from people to translate the visual novel into other languages. It made me happy to hear that there are interest for this and I'll be working toward getting that implemented soon. But for now, any translations or translated files distributed outside the game (i.e., if you needed to download a file) will be considered unofficial and I will not be liable for any problems or damages associated with it, if any. I've also received a few requests, publicly and privately, about adding a very cheap DLC to bind the game to steam accounts, and I'd like to say that it is up now! Unfortunately, the lowest regular price that Steam allows is around 1$ USD. The details about it should be posted in the main page! There has been questions about my next project, be it a sequel to Carpe Diem or a completely new one. Personally, I think Carpe Diem is best left as it is, but I'll still be open to the idea. A sequel may or may not happen depending on whether I can come up with a good plot for a continuation. As for a new project, nothing is being planned but I'm interested in making another visual novel given the chance. Until then, thank you all for being part of this wonderful experience. Have a great day!
