It's been a long time since the last post but here we go again!
I'm preparing a new update of What The Box, this update will be mainly focused in introducing a new level editor integrated with Steam Workshop, but I'm also working on a few improvements!
The game is being updated to Unity 5.6.1 which should fix some issues and improve performance.
Another thing that I have been working on is a better way to find available games:
This image is generated in real time in PHP and is always updated with the current number of rooms open in the game, that way you can know if there is a room open at the moment without having to actually check in-game. I've placed it in the game's website
On the next update the room listings menu will display the amount of rooms available on each region right away, so if you want to play no matter what region you can jump straight to the region that have rooms at the moment!
On the Level Editor front, the main meat of this update, things have been going great. Feature-wise it's almost ready to go, just need to add a lot of different objects to it and start testing it. (Are you interested in testing it?
Jump on my discord and tell me!) Will probably start testing this week.
I've started writing a little Steam Guide on how to use the level editor with lots of little gifs, you can see a little bit of how it works here:
Lastly, I took back to streaming the development of the game, you can watch the streams here, I've been streaming around 2~3pm pst.
Thanks for reading! Hope you'll enjoy the next update :D If you have any suggestions or ideas please drop them here or show up on the discord or stream to talk about it!
