Hello community,
Weve just patched Cranks and Goggles to version 1.1 in order to fix some of the issues that surfaced since our last update.
As you may guess, the major issue was the "crash" which has upset many of you. We've stripped down the code to the last bit to find the cause, we found it and fixed it. Meanwhile, Unity launched several updates and caused us a lot of trouble, we almost had to rebuild the game from scratch (It might have been easier actually).
Long story short, the game is now stable. It's still not an arcade but is much more playable with new and improved controls.
If you encounter any crash related issues while playing please e-mail us hello [at] playnative .com
One more thing...
We will soon announce online racing events. But before that, please come and join us on our discord channel, meet other pilots around the world.

- - Suspension settings reconfigured to have less body roll
- - Center of gravity of some cars have been fixed (But still, you can rollover it's intentional)
- - Gear ratios reconfigured
- - Brake power reconfigured
- Career races have been reordered ("Easier" tracks at the beginning)
- AI levels have been reconfigured to be more forgiving at the rookie levels
- Camera placed slightly higher in order to show more of the road
- Mini-map size has been reduced since cars are lot easier to control

- All tracks' lighting and ambiance settings have been edited to have a warmer "cartoony" feel

Hey there brave Pilots of the world!
We'd like to share the latest patch notes. 1.01 is a technical patch where there is not much to see content wise. Here are the major improvements.
Full controller support (really)
All controllers are working properly in any game mode now. Controllers were not working at all in online multiplayer mode and we had some compatibility issues with some of the popular controllers. We've tested all and they should be working from now on.
Online multiplayer player experience improvements
Now anyone can see if any other player(s) is online or currently racing. Therefore you won't feel alone and you can wait until next race to start. We believe this can add a little life to the multiplayer environment.
Online multiplayer quick start
In previous versions, all players have to wait 45 seconds for other players to join the online race. Now if you want to race with just one friend, the one who created the room can quick start the race.
Window mode
You may now play the game in window mode or drag the game window to your desired monitor and make it full screen right there.
Crash bug is still there...
Yes unfortunately Windows version is still crashing, but we have a plan to deal with it. So please bear with us, we believe we'll solve it eventually. That's all folks from release notes! Quote of the day: "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning." - Vin Diesel

Hey there pilots! Today we are introducing 2 new major features. Before you get into the game and test them yourself, here's your regular update notes...
What's new in Alpha 0.15:
- Steam achievements
- Bonus cars. After winning some of the advanced racing events (and 2 of the time trials), players will be awarded "Special Bonus" cars. There are 4 in total, they will appear as "Special Class" inside the Garage but they are categorised as A Class. You can race them only in A class races or in Time Trials.
- Permanent start-finish line on the ground. This was a little feature you've been asking for, we've implemented it .
- Start-finish line is also now visible on the minimap.
- Start-finish line was not always in front of the starting grid, fixed.
- We've tweaked the radius of wheel colliders (For avoiding too much sinking into the ground)
- We have updated the AI balance (again). Now there are one or two "slower" AIs in each race, which will improve the gaming experience for our casual players.
- Bruckenheim bridge collider is fixed.
- Some button and text alignment fixes.
- Player name was appearing as an AI pilot on race results, fixed.
- Allegri engine sound was missing, fixed.
- Allegri family (8 and Rosso) has a new engine SFX.

Hey there fearless pilots around the globe! It's been a while since our last update, we were working on a lot of new features and fixes simultaneously. Here is a quick list of things done and some important disclaimers: (1)ATTENTION!: Global Leaderboard system is still under development so we encourage you to give us direct feedback when something comes up, bugs, crashes anything that corrupts the fun. You have to complete a full lap in order to register your time to the global leaderboard. (2)ATTENTION MAC USERS!: Half of us inside the dev team are Mac users too, so we care about you. First of all we still have some issues about game updates on steam - every time we roll a new version, some of you might have to go through the painful process of "delete local content - install - restart the game". Also, please let us know if game crashes somewhere on new Time Trial mode. What's new in v0.14:
- Time Trials: In this game mode, you have a selection of 8 tracks where you have a target time to beat on each.
- Global Leaderboard Ranking: All your "Time Trial" results will be ranked globally! Now you'll be able to compare your time with other racers and compete to the top.
- New track colliders! Finally! We know how much you have suffered so far by sticking to walls randomly while racing. We worked hard and reproduced every track collider from scratch. It's so smooth now you'll enjoy slamming your car.
- Car handling settings updated.
- Car stats info bars are updated.
- Lobby scene updated to match the upcoming and new features.
- Cars have shadows now on Garage screen.
- Avatar car & head got little visual update.
- Race results table updated.
- Allegri Rosso controller bug fixed.
- Some more visual fixes here and there.

Hey there pilots! We have a huge update today including controller support, car controls, AI etc. Let's quickly jump to the bullets:
- Full controller support! You asked for it, we did it. Now you can play Cranks and Goggles with your gamepad (hopefully it will work great). Please let us know in the discussion forums if you experience major issues.
- New and improved OPTIONS screen. We already knew that the OPTIONS screen had some usability issues. New option screen has its own menu and it's better optimised for gamepad use.
- "Pinball-ing cars" bug has been resolved. Don't ask how.
- New car controls! This is the most important part of this update because we almost have a new game. You may even call v0.12 "Vanilla Cranks and Goggles" because on v0.13, steering, rolling, spinning, jumping, springs, tires, all have changed for good.
- Less side slamming when taking turns.
- Slower steering sensitivity on higher speeds. Quicker steer time when counter steering.
- No more surprise rollovers. We thank our track ad sponsor L'Amortisseur Romilly for letting us use their new suspension on our cars. https://twitter.com/cranksNgoggles/status/759389808053592064
- Lift-off oversteer has been reduced on some cars.
- Quicker handbrake time and more powerful handbrake. It's useful on hairpins or when car understeers.
- No more "Reset Car" option. Yes. Sorry. Hardcore racing time from now on. It was there to help you because cars were very unpredictable. You are now on your own.
- Bigger minimap.
- Bring it on! More competitive more aggressive AI. Our beloved hardcore racing gamers were complaining about AI being too slow in advanced races and they were right. We've made 2 new classes for AI competitiveness, CrazyFast & InsaneFast. That's enough spoilers.
- Some text smoothing
- "New lap" notification had disappeared on previous patch, we put it back.
- Some cars have new engine sounds. Still testing new ones.
Quote of the day:
"Races are not won in the first corner; however, they are often lost there."

Hey everybody! We've been busy working on a lot of issues, as well as new features. Here is the list of things:
- Localisation support. C & G is now available in Portuguese & Turkish.
- Car class information added to car avatar.
- Lightmapping was wrong in Windows build, fixed.
- Mac build big performance update. Some visual FX on the interface was causing glithces and frame drops, we've fixed them. The game is running much more smooth on Macs now. There are still some glitches, we're on it.
- Crashes. Again some animations were leaving some garbage behind that we think might be the cause for the crashes. Fixed and we'll be watching closely.
- Car reset key. Reset was keeping car's the rotational data. Fixed, now "reset" does what it says.
- Class A Championships' rules were broken and Class A European Championship's first race was freezing at the start grid. All fixed.
- Class A Championship poster alignments are fixed for Macs and smaller screens.
- "ESC" key disabled in race result screens.
- Lebon GT and Allegri Rosso have issues on wheel colliders, causing them to leap forward in start grid. Fixed now.
- Our lobby was lacking shadows. The screen looks sweet now with new ground shader that allows shadows by using the color that matches the rest of the interface.
- We've optimised some of the scene models.
That's it for now.

Greetings pilots! It's weekly update time, here are the changes: - Drivers in C and B class were little slow in general, we taught them how to drive faster, so they race little bit faster now. - We have changed the texture mode for car materials, they look crispier then before. - Unused "back" buttons in some of the screens have been removed. - Missing country flags are now in place - Some track info texts were mixed, obviously Wales is not in USA, fixed. - And some more pixel perfecting... Known Issues that we are working on: - Game crashing (Windows) - Interface glitch (Mac) (Race posters are badly glitching) Meanwhile we are working on bigger tasks: - Full controller support - Localisation - Steam achievements - Global leaderboard Quote of the day: "Drive it like you stole it"
