Game 2 and Mac and Linux Versions

Hello everyone! Thanks again for buying/playing/checking out Respawn Man! As some of you may know, I'm working on a new game called Bedlamball, which you can find the steam greenlight page for here. "Yes" votes really help. About the Mac version. I've had a few reports of the game not launching on certian versions of MacOS. If you have this problem, please let me know on the discussion boards, and I'll do what I can, but in terms of tech support, it's just me, so I apologize in advance if it takes me a while to figure out what's causing your issue. As for the Linux version, I'm at my wits end. The program I used to make Respawn Man has a bug preventing the Steam Workshop from functioning properly on Linux, and they still haven't fixed it. If people want, I can try to compile some of the best made user levels (with their creators permission of course) and add that to the Linux version, but I'd very much like to have the level portal working. Let me know what you'd like to happen. Ciao, and don't forget to use your extra lives wisely. ːRMCorpseCanoeː

Happy Steam anniversary to Respawn Man!

Hey, everyone! It's that time of the year again! One year and a day ago, I launched Respawn Man on Steam. It was stressful, and the game had a few stability issues at launch (Though I hope I've fixed those now, let me know if you have trouble) but you guys were very supportive of a new indie dev, and to say thank you, Respawn Man will be 90% off for the duration of the Steam Winter sale. I am hard at work on my next game, which is currently on greenlight here (albeit with a outdated trailer), and I will be showing off that game at MAGFest on January 5-8th, and I have not forgotten about the linux version of Respawn Man. I have submitted a bug report to the creators of the engine I am using, and I hope to hear back from them soon. Until next time, Happy Holidays!

Happy Day of the Dead!

Hi, folks! In celebration of Halloween for a game featuring Death himself as the antagonist as well as the Day of the Dead on November 1st, Respawn Man is 60% off. If you enjoyed the game, please consider spreading the word! As for the Linux release: Everything is working except the level editor. As this is a key feature of the game, I don't feel right releasing this version until I know Linux machines can successfully load levels from the Steam workshop. As far as I can tell, this is a bug with the software I am using, and I'm doing everythig in my power to make the developers of this software aware of it. I will let you know as soon as the Linux release is ready. Until next time, Rest In Peace!

The great post-MAGfest update!

Hello everyone! Whether you saw my game at MAGfest, or have been a part of our little community for even longer, I have some good news for you! It's an update worthy of a changelog! People really seemed to enjoy the game at MAGfest, but since I launched the game, the two most common complaints were as follows: Request: Poison takes too long to kick in. I don't wanna wait ten seconds when I'm where I need to be in two! Solution: Wait no longer! If you're poisoned, you can press the pause button to drop dead on the spot! Time is precious. Not all of us are immortal. ːRMDeathGrinː Request: Can you make the boss less frustrating and tedious? Solution: Without spoiling the end of the game, the new mechanic introduced in the boss level is kind of out of nowhere, and used in a really brutal manner off the bat. I like the level design, but the size of it can be tedious. So I hope it pleases most of you to hear that there is now a checkpoint right before the final hall of the level. Those of you who have made it down there will hopefully know what I mean by that. Other changes include misc bug fixes and minor tweaks which are not limited to, but include: steam overlay support on Mac and a fix for a bug that would cause fans to push th corpse canoe into a wall. I have other projects I want to work on, but I would like to keep this game as up to date as possible, and to eventually release a linux version. Let me know if there's anything you want to see! Lastly, here's a photo of my MAGFest booth (featuring the amazing Let's Player Marriland!)
Thanks everyone for your continued support. It means the world to me. -Solidplasma

Respawn Man now has a Twitch.tv listing!

As the title says, you can now set the game you're playing on twitch to be Respawn Man. I've been trying to make this happen for a while, becuase I always knew that community would be important for a game like this, from the user made levels to the Let's Players to the streamers. Speaking of user made levels, I plan to do a stream where I play a bunch of them at some point, but I'm currently snowed in, and power could go out at any time. If you're interested in joining me for that, you can stay up to date on all Respawn Man related happenings on the official Facebook page, as well as on my twitter, or you can follow my twitch channel. I don't plan to do announcements for things like livestream in the future, because while they're irregular, they're slightly too frequent for news posts. Have a great weekend! -Solidplasma

Respawn Man at MAGFest!

So, I recently learned that I have been approved booth space at MAGfest 2016's Indie Video Game Showcase! For those who don't know MAGfest, it's a gaming and music convention in National Harbor, Maryland, and this year it's going from February 18th-21st. I'll be demoing Respawn Man, as well as some other work in progress games that I would love your feedback on if you're going. For those of you who are fans of the Pokemon video game series, I will be a Gym Leader in the MAGfest Pokemon League as well. I might have Steam codes for the game to give out if you can utterly destroy me in a Pokemon Battle. Lastly, I would love to demo some community levels, but please let me know if you'd rather I not show one of your levels off, for any reason. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thanks for an amazing Launch Week! + Updates

Hello everyone, and thank you so much for your interest in my game! I was expecting launch to be stressful, and it was, but so many of you have been so supportive and patient with me, and several of you have been very helpful in developing the patches I've been rolling out regularly. Most of the recent ones have been for the Steam Workshop integration (If you run out of lives on a workshop level it will now restart automatically, for example), but let me know if there are any simple fixes you would like to see. If you are having any trouble with the game, or have any questions, please email me at Solidplasma (at) me (dot) com. If you are running the windows version of the game, however, it would be very helpful if you could include a debug log. To do this, go to your Steam Library > Right click on Respawn Man > Properties and under the general tab, choose Launch Options, and enter "-debugoutput debug.txt". Then, if you play the game and encounter an error, you can send me the debug.txt file (which should be in Respawn Man's install directory). This will help me figure out what the problem is. I appreciate you sticking with me. I am a one man team and this is my first Steam release, so I'm very grateful to all of you that have, and are continuing to give Respawn Man a try. Have a Happy New Year! -Solidplasma

What kills you makes you stronger! Play as the red shirted fool as he jumps on spikes, drowns, ingests poison and finds other horrible ways to die, and then uses his corpses to reach the end! Play through over 30 levels while listening to a great retro soundtrack by VVVVVV composer, SoulEye. Are the story mode and bonus stages not enough for you? Try one of the levels that didn't make the cut on the steam workshop, or make your own for others to play! And once you've died a bunch, try flinging your corpses around on the title screen! It's quite satisfying.
