Your partner, used correctly, will have your back and keep you alive in the roughest of tough sitches. This post details a few of the tactics that you can use to utilise your partner effectively, but it's not definitive. Add your own tactics to the comments below and help those rookies get started and those criminals get busted!

The Barnstormer

You and your partner stand at the precipice, waiting to burst into that room and rain the full fury of justice down on those drug dealing criminal morons. Logic tells you that sending only one cop in leaves you with once cop left standing if it all goes to pot. Screw logic. As you move in through that door, tell your partner to move in at the same time. Each of you should cover one side of the room, splitting the number of enemies in need of a bullet by half for each cop. BOOYAH.

The LA Pincer

A rookie would scoff at that second door. But you know better. Put yourself on one door, your partner on the other. At one and the same time, storm through with your partner, each taking the baddies closest to you. Pop, pop, pop and the room is clear.

The Lure and Burn

Unfortunately, you get the wonderous task of being bait. Kick down the door, make a riot's worth of noise and then run back to your buddy with your arms in the air, flailing like a helpless child. Those idiots will, one by one, file through the door for your partner to execute in a cool, calm and collected fashion. Problem solved.

The "You First"

When all else fails, this one will thin their numbers out. It's brutally simple - send your partner in first. If you've ever heard of the Forlorn Hope, the way that this plays out is extremely similar. You exchange the life of your partner for less enemies in the long term. It's a horrible way to treat your most trusted ally, but what is trust unless you get something out of it? Just remember to pick up a med pack and get your buddy back on his feet before your next criminal death-fest. --- So there you have it rookies, just a few ways to use your partner and stay alive in the world of LA Cops. Hot on the heels of update No2 we're happy to say that a Update No3 is now available for you to download and play as of sending this email. This is more of a point update and as such it includes improvements to many of the systems and features in the game whilst addressing bugs and issues as we've found them. We cant thank you, the community, enough for all your help in telling us what is and isnt working in the game. Its been invaluable and we really appreciate your support. Amongst other improvements here's a list of the changes made in this update:

• Added VO for Katsuo, Green and Kowalski.
• Doors improvement.
• Enemy knock down.
• Improved joypad trigger fire on PC.
• Crosshair hidden during melee.
• Fixed dropped weapons highlight not visible.
• Fixed double triggering of objective complete / mission or area complete effect.
• Fixed player attributes summary UI on player selection screen.
• Fixed menus not working with joypad.
• Fixed rotation when player becomes AI.
• Fixed tutorial not working with joypad.
• Updated attributes screen UI: XP deducted from one counter, fixed text scale.
• Build optimisations.

Update No2 for LA Cops is now available on Steam Early Access Hi Everyone, hope you're all ready for the weekend! We've had lots of excellent feedback on the game from players, reviewers and professional testers and we've been working exceptionally hard to deliver a big update for LA Cops. When is it available today! If you have LA Cops installed and restart Steam you should find it downloads automatically. Amongst the many features we've been working on the main additions are as follows:

• Summon Cop Feature With a click of the middle mouse button your partner will move to where you have your cursor. This is great for busting in a room with both cops at the same time and taking out thugs in a blaze of gunfighting glory!
• Tutorial Level This level is an introduction to the game and how to play
• Lvl3 - Bauhaus Save wealthy Tycoon - Max Thrace from a gang on thugs intent on stealing his fortune. Unfortunately for Max, he's broke. Better get in there and save his neck!
• Lvl4 - Mansion A drugs bust operation set in a burnt out Mansion
• Cop Voice Overs We have the first batch of in game Cop VO for Murphy, Borland and Williams implemented. They're sassy one liners will put those criminals in line!
• Enemy VO Enemies react with dumb one liners about how they're going to do you in. Prove them wrong with a bullet or two.
• Cutscenes 4&5 The in game soap opera story is beginning to take form. Will Kowalski come to terms with working with Murphy? And what is Teddy Green up to that has Katsuo so concerned?
• UI Overhaul

As well as the above we've made another pass on the User Interface to make it more intuitive and responsive. Please note we're aware of the issues with the joypad interactions in the main menu and the tutorial level and are preparing a fix for them to be released real soon. Plus a miriad of polish and fixes to improve the gameplay which is simply too long to list here. The done list we keep track of is many screens long. We hope you'll enjoy the update this weekend and do keep sending us your feedback. Your insights really are making a difference to the quality of the game and we hope you can see us listening, acting on and implementing your ideas in each game update. Alright, listen up! I got the Mayor on my ass about this like a hernia, and he wants you guys on the case. Why he wants you guys, I don’t know. You’ve cost this department more than all the Precincts in the rest of the state combined!

Anyways. You’ll be headin’ up a team of cops in LA, and you’ll be goin’ up against all manner of bad guys, packing some serious heat! Not ta mention The BIG Boss, Hawaiian Mo. Sure, it’ll be dangerous, but heck, it’s nothin’ you ain’t done before.


LA Cops is a fast, action packed 3D top down shooter set to a theme of 70s Cops in LA trying to do a tough job in a tough town. Gameplay includes an extra edge as you control two cops, using them strategically to get one up on the bad guys!

A smart targeting system UI allows, you, the player to position your cops tactically whilst taking out the bad guys in real time.

When you buy this game you get:

• 8 main and 5 optional levels to play through. Each level is broken down into multiple sections totalling twenty overall.
  
• Six Cops to choose from each with their own attributes that can be upgraded with experience points during play. Attributes include health, speed, ammo clip size & damage.
  
• Five weapons to take out bad guys with including Pistols, Uzis, Shotguns, Assault Rifles & Grenade Launchers.
  
• Destructible scenery
  
• Multiple cut scenes tell the story of these Cops in full 3D. Just like people, not all Cops are bad & not all Cops are good.
  
• Plus a Rock soundtrack that needs to be played loud!
