January update



Hey guys!

Its time for the first update in this year. We have a new feature, some changes and fixes this time too. This might not be the biggest update ever but is needed to pave way for further development. As with previous update, these new features are also not well explained in-game, as we are concentrating on improving the core mechanics of the game first, so thanks for your patience.

So here it goes:

NEW FEATURES



Living world
Although not too spectacular by itself at this moment it is a core for future features. This feature introduces simulation of interregional relations. Now regions connect to one another according to rules that will get more complex and realistic with time boosting each others power by doing so. These connections are represented with lines. Thicker end of the line means this region profits more from the connection as it is dominant. There are also some rudimentary events happening under the hood that animate this system a bit.

CHANGES


  • Region neighbor lists have been revisited, making more connections between regions.
  • New features and changes mean some more balancing of numerous features for playability sake.





  • Warfares have been revised too. New requirements have been set and also new balancing was needed. Warfares now happen between regions which are not your allies or you do not have branches in too.

As with previous updates, this update is applied to both the default and beta branch and since it brings many changes loading your old save game might have different results than expected.

We also implemented some new stuff that isn't localized yet so if you spot any discrepancies in the text and gameplay please let us know.

Fix #6 - Agenda Christmas Update



Hey guys,

Holidays are almost here so it is time for some new updates!
We have been seriously considering all your comments and suggestions and came up with some new features that we hope are getting the game closer to fulfilling its potential.
Although there is still space for improvement, we feel that these new features do bring a significant change to the game.

Without further ado:

NEW FEATURES

Graphs Overview
By pressing the Graphs overview button in the lower right corner, now you can get the overview of all the important information of the flow your current game. Try it, tell us what you think!
This new feature helped us a lot to steer further development in the right direction. It took a lot of effort to implement, and left a little less time for balancing and proper explaining of the new features, but bear with us, these things will be addressed with upcoming updates.



Monthly production overview
By hovering your mouse over the Resource Overview bar in the upper left corner, now you can see how much resources you are collecting every month. Very useful!




Operational Balance Sheet
Costs and profits of operations can now be seen in the Regional overview in operation description.




CHANGES


  • Update tree got some love, upgrades are doing what they should do
  • Breakdowns, Warfares and Rebellions now kick your exposure quite violently, beware!
  • Breakdowns, Warfares and Rebellions duration and effects have been rebalanced
  • Global exposure now CAN’T be lowered beneath the last Global Exposure threshold you reached anymore
  • Allies are a bit harder to get, and harder to lose, and will earn you a bit of influence
  • Agency Super Weapons have been slightly rebalanced to fit new gameplay

  • Fixed Rebellions and Agency Weapons loading from a saved game
  • Fixed multiple issues with a refreshing regional view upon focus change
  • Fixed multiple UI bugs

Fix #5 - a new Branch (BETA) and new Features



Hey guys,

Happy to report that after the initial balancing we were finally able to start implementing some new features which change the issues that some players thought were the biggest problems to the game.

BETA branch
If you did not see your game update, fear not. It is because we have created a new branch to put features on before they are fully tested and balanced.

The default branch will be used for when the new feature is balanced and works well, we will then simply move the current version of the game from the BETA branch into the DEFAULT branch.

So this update can be accessed on the BETA branch. If you are unfamiliar with changing branches this is the way to do it:


1) go into game properties in your Steam Library
2) open Beta tab and opt in
3) there is no password for the beta branch


If you choose to opt in the beta branch please we aware of this WARNING. The Beta branch is an unreleased version of the game that may contain bugs, crashes, etc. We do not advise you to play on it unless you are aware of this and it doesn't bother you.

Tip: switching between the beta branch and default branch can cause files to go out of sync, which might lead to losing your save files and other neat problems. We recommend verifying your cache, as this solves most problems. Re-installing the game will resolve any other issues. It's usually not a problem, but it can be a pain. You have been warned!

NEW FEATURES


  • Ally Conditions - formation of blocks
  • Added Monthly Production table for region


The first new feature, that we are releasing today, deals with two things:

  • the problem of no enemy or nemesis
  • the problem of the game not being phased well


It mostly has to do with the little circle filled with aspects that you can see on top of the post. We will go into more detail in our GAME MECHANICS thread where we try to keep a list of everything that is under the hood.

The second feature is rather straightforward, we added a Monthly Production Table into regions so you can see how much every regions contributes to your total Resource Pool.

CHANGES

  • Hidden message box on loading breakdown from save
  • Updated Global UI with Ally Aspects
  • Updated Region UI with Region Aspect
  • Updated Region UI with Production table
  • Starting region is chosed based on selected aspect type
  • Restricted starting regions to “weak” regions

Hey guys, we have been quiet for a while, but busy. As we announced the last time these are the steps we will do our best to follow:

  • Fix known issues (cause you don't paint a broken car)
  • Balance things better (cause you don't drive a car with no tires)
  • Polish the changes (now it's time for that paint job)
  • Listen to feedback and suggestions the whole time
  • Choose and develop a new feature
  • Back to #1


    And here are the results:

    FIXED

    • Multiple localization fixes
    • Operation pins spawns only inside region
    • Fixed sound on closing region view
    • Fixed sound on entering region view
    • Fixed wrong calculations for influence and power
    • Multiple agency weapon fixes
    • Multiple agency upgrades fixes
    • Multiple optimization fixes
    • Fixed loading breakdowns from saved game
    • Restricted closing agency weapon box with escape or right mouse click
    • Fixed different breakdown pin scale ratio
    • Fixed operation successful statistics on game end


    CHANGES

    • Operations are more balanced. Now money shouldnt be your only resource to worry about
    • When exiting from region, map is centered
    • Monthly income is additionally balanced
    • Restricted uncommon resolution aspect ratio
    • Upgraded way of calculating exposure
    • Each of rebellion point upon reaching decrease all of your resources by 30/60/90 %
    • Warfare affects on all aspect types: Economy and military by 50%, Other aspect types by 25%
    • Warfare and Breakdowns affects on your resources
    • Reward on starting operation is same as reward on resolving, no changes between

    • Added additional information about your saved game slot in loading window
    • Added choice in options for two different date formats

    Thank you for all your bug reports. Some we could not reproduce but others were fixed.

    Fixes:

    - Playing multiple SFX sounds as result of operations that appears using Resolve All
    - Disappearing frame in tutorial for influence and power graph
    - Infinite Ally
    - Opened window for operations with parameters where player can change operation parameter after starting operation
    - Ok button for Agency Weapons if steam is not initialized
    - Economy failing after warfare

    Changes:
    - Ally duration is changed from 90 / 60 / 45 to 720 / 540 / 360 based on difficulty

    We will also get back to you soon with our dev plans for the coming weeks so you can comment on them and expect what's going to happen.

    Just updated the builds with a couple of small fixes. The most noteworthy changes are:

    - you can now scroll through regions in the Region view also with Q and E
    - the reported lag towards the end of the game should be better now, let us know

    Regarding the lag, so far we used 5 textures to draw them so at one point we would have 600 draw calls to the GPU.



    Now it is made only of two so we lowered the draw calls by 60%.

    The new ones don't look so sweet but we will keep thinking about alternative solutions.
