2.0.1 Patch notes

Good day friends,

A few small things to add to this update.

The most important one, is MacOS version now has the updated version as well!

We've also fixed a few minor bugs.

And last but not least, there are a few things to mention:


  • - if the game does not accept input in the level selection part, it's due to the save files being corrupted, or unreadable by the new system. You can navigate to the savefile and delete it.

    Default paths should be:
    - windows: Users/[YourName]/AppData/LocalLow/PointFiveTeam/RAM BOE
    - linux: home/.config/unity3d/PointFiveTeam/RAM BOE
    - mac: ~/Library/Application Support/PointFiveTeam/RAM BOE

  • - as for the custom levels in the workshop, the current created ones won't work anymore as the system was changed and improved. Only the ones created after the 2.0 update will work. Thank you for your understanding.

    RAM BOE 2.0

    Happy Spring Friends!

    As the game has its 8th birthday this week, we are very proud to present to you the 2.0 remake of Ram Boe!

    The game went into multiple modifications from the original, while keeping the core of the game intact. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we loved working on it!

    PS. The game currently is available for windows, linux and steamOS(steamdeck). The Mac version will be uploaded by the end of the week.

    Graphics detail

    Hello friends and happy new year!

    As it's been a while and as we're heading to the last stretch before the update is live, we're here to give the final update before the patch.

    From the graphical standpoint of the game, it has changed a lot. Without giving away too many spoilers, here are a few things you can expect:


    • the most important one is our little wooly friend - he's getting an upgrade in model and animations!
    • the puzzle blocks are also getting a makeover and a general more clean esthetic
    • we're also upgrading the background environment and vfx for a more stylish cartoony look
    • last, but not least, we're updating the lighting and adding a whole bunch of post processing to make the game look better

    Happy Friday Friends,

    Hope you're having an awesome start to the weekend, as we're going to add to the excitement with more news.

    This time we're giving away a sneak peek on the story aspect:


    • the main highlight of this update is the story animation will change and will be upgraded
    • the story itself will not change, but it will have a bit extra text and some small changes for consistency
    • the narrator will change also so hope you'll enjoy the new VO

    Gameplay details

    Hello beautiful people and hope you're having an awesome start of September.

    As promised, during the next period until the upgrade patch is done, we will be give you guys a sneak peak from multiple perspectives - gameplay, graphics, story and other miscellaneous changes.

    In this update we will be touching on gameplay matters, so grab your popcorn and enjoy the read:


    • - from the get go, we will not be touching the core mechanics, so all changes will focus on enhancing what already exists
    • - our little wooly mountain climber will be getting a sugar rush buff, so he'll be moving around the map faster and the input will be much tighter than it currently is. We know how that was annoying as it caused over-pushing and running off the cliff a lot of times. Also nobody likes a slowpoke, so put some muscle in it Boe.
    • - speaking of input, as this upgrade is focused a lot for steam deck, we've removed mouse control, so you will only use keyboard or gamepad controls
    • - there will still be two difficulty modes, a casual mode where you can't fall off the platform and you can't push important runestones off either, as well as removing the timer. Yes, we've heard your feedback and we're revamping the timer. The challenge mode will have what the casual mode doesn't - falling, pushing and timer.
    • - as mentioned above, level timer won't tick down anymore. In casual mode it won't exist at all and in challenge mode it's replaced by a stopwatch, meaning it will count from 0 upward and will be used as a means for time-trial - that you will need that for one of the 3 souls from each level completion. TLDR; you can take your time on both difficulties as the game won't end on time anymore :D
    • - camera movement is getting changes as well, you will be able to move the camera, now isometric, at 90 degrees and will also have a top down mode, depending on what preference you have while playing
    • - last but not least, we're also adding a couple of extra level, focused on the breakable falling tiles under your feet, as we feel that mechanic was not explored enough.
    • - more than that, a handful of quality of life changes that everyone will enjoy

    - the level creation achievement now unlocks properly (we advise you to make a new level and after uploading it successfully, restart the game and you should get the achievement)
    - fixed a bug where level 53 and 54 wouldn't unlock
    - fixed a visual bug where it would show the number of souls you got on the last run of a level now the best run of that level
    - sandbox level name now shows properly
    - fixed a bug where you couldn't try your level if you edited it and taken the snapshot again
    - saving for cloud now updates every time you finish levels rather than when you quit the game
    - updated the level vegetation

    Patch 1.1.1 is up. It fixes the sound issues with the cinematics and Thrym's voice in game is now heard only in the special levels.
