Hello fine people, platformer enjoyers and dare I say it... friends? I come with glad tidings and a new video for you! I (Steve, hello!) sat down with Gavin Price, [strike]Supreme Glorious Leader[/strike] Game Director on Yooka-Replaylee for a bit of a chin-wag about the game, the progress we're making and some of the key differences both IN this demo that we shared with media and also some of the changes that have happened SINCE this demo was first shown! Get this in yer eye holes: [previewyoutube=9_tP6kgRV-0;full][/previewyoutube] Some of the topics covered while I fumble around with a controller, trying to listen to my boss... - Coinelius' coins' new colour Coinelius, the helpful piggy bank and new character edition to Yooka-Replaylee has already undergone a change with his beautiful platinum coins having stolen the golden hues of the Quill because... - Level-specific Quills Having given up their golden coat to Coinelius' coins, Quills now come in a variety of colours as they become specific to the level the player is currently in. Why is this? Because our crafty salesman Trowzer has gotten pickier over the years. -Trowzer's new wares The role of Trowzer is fundamentally changing in Yooka-Replaylee with a whole new set of wares to sell. What these wares are we are not ready to reveal quite yet. - All moves from the beginning In one of the bigger changes to the game, and why the role of our beloved salesman has changed, is that players will have access to the full arsenal of Yooka and Laylee's moves from the start of the game. - New Pagie pieces collectible A new collectible has joined the roster in the form of Pagie pieces. Collecting these will unlock additional bonuses. - Levels available in their "expanded" stage from the start In another change to the original Yooka-Laylee, levels will now be available in their entirety from the very start. We'll be showing off some new content in the New Year, as well as bringing you a wrap-up of what we've revealed so far since June in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that! Also worth mentioning, that YES, we're going to discount Yooka-Replaylee if you own Yooka-Laylee (On Steam, and working with the console platforms to ensure this too) and YES we are still listening to your feedback on what we reveal so far, I can't promise anything as we're all very busy bees but as the Community Manager, I'm seeing your comments and feeding back everything! That's all for now, new friends, see you soon! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2448020/YookaReplaylee/?beta=1

Hey folks! When we announced Yooka-Replaylee, we had more than a handful of people ask us whether backers of the original game would still feature in the credits, and if so, would there be the possibility of changing the name featured in the credits. I am pleased to say that the answer to both of these questions is: Yes! We are, of course, still incredibly appreciative to those of you who helped bring Yooka & Laylee into the world [strike]kicking and screaming[/strike] rolling and sonar...ing? And were also aware of the fact that some people have since changed their given names or have perhaps since decided that xXThaToastGhostXx isnt as cool as it was 10 years ago (I disagree, I think thats a sick name). If were remastering the game, its only fair you get to remaster your name! With this in mind, weve created a Google Form for folks who originally backed the game to provide us with their new, preferred name theyd like to see in the Yooka-Replaylee credits! You will need to provide the following details, if any of these are not included or incorrect, we will not be able to proceed with updating your name: - Your BackerKit ID number - The email address you used for BackerKit - Your original name featured in the credits - Your new desired name Some general rules: Please use only ASCII characters You are limited to 40 characters No vulgar, abusive, racist, homophobic, transphobic or otherwise offensive terms No legal entity, copyright protected or trademarked names allowed If you are a minor, or want to enter the name of a minor, please make sure you have the permission of parents or guardians Please be aware that your name will be visible to everyone who plays the game We reserve the right to remove inappropriate names Please don't include URLs, twitter handles or email addresses ASCII art will most likely not show up correctly, so please don't include it If you wish to have your name removed from the credits, please tick the check box option at the bottom of the form and enter N/A in the new name field. Hopefully it goes without saying but please don't fill this form out if you weren't an original backer of Yooka-Laylee, some poor person who draws the short straw (Not me!) is going to have to manually cross-reference all of these names so please help us by only filling this out if it's relevant to you! REQUEST A NAME CHANGE HERE! Submissions will close two weeks from now on 11/10/24 and no further changes will be accepted. Stay tuned for more updates sooooon!

Hello folks! I sat down with Ed, Nikita and Steve to talk all things art on Yooka-Replaylee! We talk about how they're improving the environments, characters and more for the remaster. There's some new sneak peeks at gameplay and some nice new screenshots in this one too! Check out the video below! [previewyoutube=W6Kgv7wOsNg;full][/previewyoutube] The video and audio enjoyers amongst you will be pleased to hear that this will be the last of this series filmed in this location! For the next video in the series, we'll be taking proceedings to a much more fancy set-up, thank you for bearing with us on this as we sorted a better location! We'll have news about the next feature video soon! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2448020/YookaReplaylee/

Hey folks, As the Yooka-Replaylee dev team crack on with polishing up all those textures up to 4K and Kev moves all those pesky Quills around, I've been keeping a close eye on your comments and thoughts since we announced the remaster and I come with an update I think at least one person will be happy to hear! We are happy to confirm that there WILL be a discount on Yooka-Replaylee for owners of the original game! We'll go into detail closer to release but for now, start thinking about what you're gonna spend that extra money on! Maybe a celebratory launch kebab (a Steve favourite), some new socks, or perhaps a nice little treat for the pet in your life? For clarity, this currently only applies to Steam right now as we're yet to announce console support but we'll keep you posted once we have console news! Yooka-Replaylee is shaping up to be the [strike]best game ever[/strike] definitive way to play and experience the very first of Yooka and Laylee's adventures and we want to recognise and thank all of our original Kickstarter backers and all the folks who supported us by buying Yooka-Laylee in the first place. So thank you! We're putting a lot of love into Yooka-Replaylee and we can't wait for you to see what we've been up to! We've also written an FAQ that'll be updated constantly as we have more answers to the most frequently asked questions! If you're the one person who was waiting for this fantastic news before hitting that lovely "Wishlist" button, feel free to do it now, go on, it's free and it means we get to watch a little number go up on our side. It's very exciting for people like me! (Nerds) Stay tuned to our Steam news pages and social media as our next Dev video about Yooka-Replaylee will dropping in August as part of a series of videos where we go over all the things you can expect from the game! Now, to ensure Trowzer doesn't catch wind of us practically giving the game away, this message will self-destruct in 5...4...3...2... https://store.steampowered.com/app/2448020/YookaReplaylee/

Calling all 3D platformer fans! A lizard and a bat... we are so back! Hello folks! [previewyoutube=hrXXbkP5HAc;full][/previewyoutube] We are VERY pleased to finally show you one of the many exciting things we've been working on! Introducing Yooka-Replaylee! One of the ways we wanted to celebrate our approaching 10th Birthday is by providing fans with the best way to play the game that started it all! "What a great new pun-derful title" we hear you say, but you want to know details. We've got you: There's a revised control and camera system, tweaks to abilities, remixed and new challenges, new collectibles, a fancy new coat of visual paint, of course, and more we'll be digging in to in the coming months! Yooka-Replaylee is the culmination of almost 10 years of experience since founding Playtonic (Seriously, how has it been nearly 10 years since 2015?!) and we've channelled much of what we've learned while tinkering on other projects, as well as taking on board community feedback from the original release, in to making this the best way to play Yooka-Laylee. Very soon, we'll be releasing a Q&A video with some developers you may recognise to talk more about what Yooka-Replaylee is and what it means for us as studio. Until then, stay tuned to our socials for more news and Wishlist Yooka-Replaylee on Steam! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2448020/YookaReplaylee

Hey all,
I come to you with news and details on what you can expect from the next, juicy Yooka-Laylee patch coming later this month.
We've heard your feedback, done some tweaks and changes, squished many a nasty bug (including the Capital Cashino one!) and can't wait to see what you think when the patch releases.
So, for the offical word on what's what check out Playtonic's update below...
CH-CH-CH-CHANGES
In the months since launch we’ve been hard at work on Yooka-Laylee’s first big game update, and we’re pleased to confirm that once our test team is done trying to break it, it will be deploying later this month on PC. This rather plump update will add all manner of exciting gubbins, including the optional ability to skip dialogue faster, bypass cutscenes or reduce those pesky gibberish voices (which should please speedrunners), plus a brand new optional camera mode that gives players full control of where it’s pointed. We’ve paid close attention to your feedback and hopefully the additions we’ve cooked up will make Yooka-Laylee an even more enjoyable experience, whether you’re playing for the first time or reptile rolling in for a second playthrough. As promised, you can find a detailed breakdown of the updates we’ll be adding in the list below. In addition to these changes, we’ll also have an extensive list of bug fixes – which should resolve most common issues - when the game update is deployed in the coming weeks.

Hey Community,
It's exciting news time! That's right, it's time to show off some of the multiplayer goodness you can get stuck into in Yooka-laylee.
Yooka-Laylee will feature 8 unique multiplayer games that can be found in dated dinosaur Rextro's Arcade, and a two player buddy mode for the main adventure!
Rextro's Arcade can be tackled solo to achieve high scores, or in local couch co-op with up to four players! Compete in the Glaciators brawler arena to collect the most quills, race to the finish line in Kartos Karting, fight for the flag in Blag the Flag, blast away the enemies in shoot-em-up Gun-let Run and traverse both Jobstacle Course and Hurdle Hijinx, plus more!
To engage in two player co-operative gameplay, simply connect an additional controller to buddy up (drop in, drop out style)! Taking control of the Bee Team, the second player will able to grab quills and collect and store butterflies for when Yooka and Laylee are really in need of health or energy boost. They can even stop some traps to help the player traverse past particularly tricky obstacles!
The trailer is live and ready for you to oggle in all it's glory, we look forward to hearing what you think in the forums!
