Hi all!
To celebrate the North America release of the game for the Nintendo Switch (More information here!), we're happy to announce that we have released a major update for the game on Steam!
HOORAY!
A big thank you to all our wonderful Kickstarter backers!
NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS
- We've added a variety of skins to the game for you to equip on to TY! These are all unlocked from the start of the game, so you can have fun straight away!
- All video cutscenes in the game now have subtitles!
- We've completely remixed the audio for many of the major cutscenes in the game, adding in more and improved audio beyond anything that we could previously imagine (back when we had to fit the whole game into 32MB).
- Added Kickstarter backers to the credits. Thank you to all you wonderful people!
- Rendering performance improvements on minspec graphics cards.
- Improved level loading speeds.
- Improved visuals of grass rendering.
- Uncovered original high res map art in a TY 2 backup archive instead of the earlier upres (for the pause screen maps), barely escaping with our lives after a poor attempt at replacing the files with something of equal weight.
BUG FIXES
- Prevent using the Action button to activate a trigger while a dialog is playing (because the user is likely intending to skip the cutscene, not trigger something).
- Fixed issue with the opening of portals to boss levels, if the player doesn't complete the cutscene sequence after obtaining a talisman.
- Fixes for several memory leaks.
- Fixes for several particles that were being added to the shadows for the levels.
- Enabled Anti-aliasing in the pause menu (if that graphics option is enabled).
- Fixes for several rendering errors with shared materials.
- Allow fall dive into shatterable objects in water. Fixes issue with sometimes being unable to shatter an underwater crate in Bridge on the River TY for Rex's diving tutorial.
- Fix graphical artifact in Outback Safari if a rang with a light (flame/frost) is equipped.

Hi all, We've released a new build for TY on to Steam now, with a few general fixes and one new feature. The major new feature we've added is the option to DISABLE the rang selection wheel, if you don't want to use it during your game, as this has been a major request by both people speed-running the game, and those after the original feel. You can find the option in the Controls Options! The changes in this build are:
- CAMERA: Fixed bug where switching away from zoomerang while zoomed in, using the rang select wheel, would stay zoomed in.
- CONTROLS: Fixed some controller deadzone issues
- CONTROLS / UI: Added option to enable/disable rang selection wheel
- GRAPHICS: Fixed rendering issue when running at high DPI (would render in a corner, not full screen)
- GRAPHICS: game window is not double-created when launched with MSAA enabled

Hey all,
You guys asked for it; so we've implemented it!
The rang selection wheel from TY2 has been implemented in to TY1, for all your rang selection needs!
You can access it just like you do in TY2 - by using the "Y" button (or R button for default keybindings) when not in a trigger area.
If you're an old school fan, don't worry though - the original controls (left and right on the d-pad; Q and E on keyboard default bindings) will still also scroll through the rangs one-by-one; like it was in the original relese.
In addition to this feature update; we've done a pretty large audio update, as well as fixed some bugs (full list below).
To top that all off - the game is on sale FROM TOMORROW (9am 15th September PST) for TY's 15th Anniversary! We've also got a bunch of merch available for his birthday - check out the TY the Tasmanian Tiger page for more details.
Cheers
Linds
BUG FIXES
- AUDIO: Updated sounds to match their TY2 versions, for various footstep, cutscene, rang, environment and UI sounds
- AUDIO: increased the maximum sound prop range allowed to 3000 to match what the XBOX version did (PS2 and PC was set to 1500)
- COLLECTABLES: Fixed incorrect picture fame number in level E3 (would result in bad completion numbers if collected in a specific order; will be backwards compatible with existing saves)
- GAMEPLAY: Added in rang selection wheel
- GAMEPLAY: Fix for glide camera sometimes erroring, if you started gliding while the camera was pointed up at you
- GRAPHICS: Fixed water reflections.
- GRAPHICS: Made plankton a bit more opaque
- GRAPHICS: Adjusted auto-brightness effect to work with new shader updates
- GRAPHICS: Fixed sqaure shadows in magnet effect glow and aquarang glow.
- MISC: Added some more logging to bootup to help diagnose issues with graphics cards
- MISC: Fixed bug where the turtle critter could cause massive framerate drop due to collision checks

Hi all, I'm happy to announce that we are aiming for MONDAY THE 20TH OF MARCH 2017 as our release date for TY2, in to Early Access. Plans are not yet quite finalized for price point, but overall expect things to be similar to what we did for TY1, in terms of price and launch discounts, etc. Oh... and of course, here's a nice pretty trailer for the annoucement... feel free to share it around and get a heap more people excited for the release! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xrtuUO7L4M Cheers Linds

Hi all, Time for the next exciting update to TY! In this episode...
NEW FEATURES
- ART: Additional beautification to Lyre, Lyre Pants on Fire; if the "Props" setting in "Screen" is set to "High" (note - this is for high-spec PCs).
- CAMERA: Back-ported the 1st Person Camera starting direction from TY2. You can now select between "TY's Body" (which will make the camera enter 1st person, facing the direction TY's head is looking at - so it will auto-target NPCs and the like) and "Camera" (which will make the camera enter 1st person, facing where the 3rd person camera was pointing at, irrespective of anything else). The setting will default to "Camera"; and can be modified via the Options UI.
BUG FIXES
- AUDIO: If the audio device fails to create at launch, try the next available audio device. Also, additional logging for if
audio devices fail to create. - GRAPHICS: Removed the glow around the seahorses from the shadows.
UP NEXT
We'll be working on additional beautification for more levels, and keeping an eye on any bugs that people bring to our attention. Any issues, please let us know! Cheers Linds

Hi all,
So... after a few months of "hints" and oblique comments, it's official.
TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue is coming to Steam!
And - just in case you want to buy the super-awesome poster for your wall - we've set up a sweet store! where you can buy it and other TY apparel (with more coming soon)!
We do not have a date for the Early Access release right now, but what we can say is:
- We will have a date for you shortly :)
- Our current plan is to progress with the release in the same fashion as we did for TY1, with an Early Access release, followed by updates to fix issues, polling the users for ideas for how to improve the game (and for achievements ideas and the like) and implementing those, improving the art.
- We are endeavouring to ensure that the very first build of the game in Early Access will be 100% completable (it just might have a few crashes and issues along the way), the same as TY1 was.
- We aim to have some kind of discount for the launch week in to Early Access, if you own TY1 on Steam
- Mud and Sand no longer slow down the Fourbie like they used to (though steering is still affected)
- Brand new minimap, including "large" mode (similar to TY3's), and options to set to North-Is-Up or auto-rotate.
- Leaderboards for the cart races, for completing the game (similar to TY1's) and for Opal collection
- We've implemented systems for us to be able to increase the amount of grass and foliage on high-end PCs
- The camera improvements we did on the TY1 remaster have been brought across to TY2 (though some bits aren't yet hooked up in the UI)
- And of course it's running at 60fps, with full shadows, SSAO, Bloom with adaptive brightness, etc (depending on your PC specs)

Hi all, A small update has been released for the game.
BUG FIXES
- GRAPHICS: Fix for boomerang trails so they render correctly when over the top of some alpha'd objects.
- MISC: A few more miscellaneous small memory fixes
- SAVE GAMES: Stopped the game from going into the "new game" flow and overwriting save games if you highlighted the "new game" option with the mouse while the screen is fading out, after you clicked on "load game", and people losing progress from this accidentally overwriting their save. Thank you to those who reported this and shared a video of it so we could figure out what was going on!
Any problems, please let us know as per normal! Cheers Linds

Hey all We thought we'd have a small pre-Christmas update as to what we're up to, and what our next steps are. In the last week (give or take!) since full release, we've been investigating issues that people have reported from playing the game. We've done several fixes, that we've made available to a few people to see whether it resolves the problems, and we'll be looking to doing a new patch to the game early in 2017. Some of the current major line-item changes for the next patch are:
- ANIMATION: Made the multiple claim animations for golden cogs/thundereggs etc work correctly again (still limited if the doomerang is equipped)
- DEBUGGING: Added some logging to Autosave process
- GRAPHICS: Made Two Up B-E-A-Utifiul
- GRAPHICS: Fixed draw order issues with some of the portals
- PERFORMANCE: Significantly improved CPU performance of "high" detail shadows (and to a lesser extent, "medium" detail level too)

- UI: Made the prop detail selection in settings change when you click on it (not grass)

Hi all!
The TYme has finally arrived!
Tomorrow (12th December in the USA) TY1 will be leaving Early Access in to full release!
At that point, as we’ve mentioned several times, the price for the game will be increasing to $14.99.
Here's a nice new video we've done up for the launch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O7KGfAg-s8
Thanks to everybody for the support – it has been greatly appreciated.
There will be more things to come for TY… both for TY1 and … other things …
:)

FEATURES
- GRAPHICS: Adaptive Brightness. As you go in and out of dark areas, or bright areas, we now adaptively modify the scene lighting, if bloom is enabled (and supported by your graphics card). Here's a side by side of the difference! This should also help the white-hot-mess beaches!

:)
BUG FIXES

Hi all, A new build of TY has been released. Along with a few small fixes, there are some bonus goodies in this build for you all! The quality of these isn't necessarily the best, as we're using videos that we made 15 years ago (video compression has come a LOOOONG way!), but hopefully they provide some enjoyment. Changes in this build:
BUG FIXES
- CONTROLS - Fixed mouse input on second page of videos when switching pages or returning to the screen after watching a video.
- GRAPHICS - fix render order for transparent TY - this allows invisible items to be seen through transparent TY.
- GRAPHICS - fix for incorrect rendering on the Kaboomerang over water
- UI - fix for edge artefacts on the "hovering over an UI element" mouse pointer
- VIDEO - buffered the videos in smaller chunks, to fix out of memory issue hit by some users. Tested this on a 5400rpm external USB2 hard drive and the update rate still appeared fine.
BONUS GOODIES
- Added in the original TY Krome Logo as a video in extras
- Added in a video of the original TY prototypes from back in 2000; at the highest quality we have.
- Added in a video of the first pitch that we did for TY in 2001, to the extras.
- Added in a video of the second pitch (living world) that we did for TY in 2001, including visuals of the original first level of the game (that we remade in the last week before release!), to the extras.
- Added in video of the E3 trailer we made for the game for 2002 to the extras.

Hey all, A new build is now available. This is close to the final build that we'll release before we exit Early Access.
WORK REMAINING
- A few more languages translations.
- Anything that you guys bring up from this build, as there are a few "under the hood" changes.
- New material for the store for launch
LEAVING EARLY ACCESS INFORMATION
- Price will increase to $14.99USD (and equivalent for other territories)
- For the first week out of Early Access, we'll look to doing a 10% Off Full-Launch sale (so $13.49USD price) - which will still give a wallet benefit to those of you who have supported the game during Early Access.
- Our current thoughts are that we will not put the game on sale for greater than a 20% discount, for the first 3 months of full release, to ensure that anybody who supported us during Early Access is not out of pocket.
CHANGES IN THIS BUILD
GRAPHICS
- Added threaded rendering support to reduce CPU use on rendering - should help framerate on a wide variety of hardware configurations - but there may be some artefacts we've missed fixing; so please let us know any issues
- Fixed some objects that were not correctly shadowing
- Added collision test against SNOW to keep camera out of the snow.
- Tweaks to the ssao on snow level
- Fix for bad window position when window got tabified.
- Made the SSAO a little more subtle/blended
- Translated all achievements (EFIGS)
- Translated store pages (EFIGS)
- Updated recommended PC specifications on the Store page
- Potential fix for game unable to start due to steam client not found.
- Translation fixes for German
- Translation fixes for the "Steam Client not running" popup (had the header text in the detail and detail text in the header)
- Fixed large memory leak in loading DDS files.
- Added new Krome Logo movie at 720p
- Changed boot screen to say we're in BETA not ALPHA

Hi all, A new build is up and availbable. "Bad" times from the leaderboards have been wiped - hopefully the changes in this build will assist in those not coming back. Changes in this build:
NEW FEATURES
- GALLERY: Extras screen now checks all three savegames for gallery image collection status, and combines them. The gallery button is initially disabled, and becomes enabled after the check is done, if any gallery image has been collected on any save game. The gallery screen now uses this combined collection to decide how many images to show.
BUG FIXES
- ART: Updated maps for each level
- ART: Updated stopwatch icon that didn't use the 3D model
- ART: Improved font quality for the HUD elements
- ART: Added drop-shadows to elements that were missing shadows on game-info screen
- ART: Improved quality of rock texture on the frontend
- LEADERBOARDS: Sanity check Game Time increments so they can't be negative or massive to avoid erroneous leaderboard postings
- CONTROLS: Fix for edge case where if game ran continuously for 24 and a bit days, the keyboard and mouse click input would stop working for the next 24 and a bit days
- TRANSLATIONS: Added in translations for new in-game options etc. Would be great for any native language users to let us know anything that is a problem.
OTHER
- SAVE GAMES: Added extra logging to save games to help diagnose issues where people are losing their save games
- GAME BOOT ISSUES: Added extra logging to the boot process to help diagnose launch-time issues (such as the game saying the Steam Client isn't running).

Hey all, A new build has been released. Can people who are/were having issues with the FMV stuttering playback please let me know here or via support@kromestudios.com; whether they are still having issues? Changes in this build....
NEW FEATURES
- CONTROLS - New keyboard and mouse snowball gun controls - use your mouse to turn, etc.
- GRAPHICS - Added Anisotropic filtering and UI options to set this. Off/Low/Mid/High options. High == the maximum level that your graphics card can manage. Mid == 1/2 the maximum level that your graphics card can manage. Low == 1/4 the maximum level that your graphics card can manage.
- PERFORMANCE - "low" detail grass now also uses a lower-resolution texture, to aid in performance on low-end devices (fillrate causing framerate to take a nose-dive)
BUG FIXES
- ART - Tweaks to SSAO settings for all remaining levels (C and E zone)
- ART - Fixed some issues with portal rendering, that were making the portals too bright, have visible edges, and the text for the level name be illegible.
- PERFORMANCE - Committed water tesselation meshes to improve load times.
- UI - Fix to load screen background model - was a little too small to fill the screen with the darkened edges
- UI - Fix for pause/resume time increments
- VIDEOS - make theora player a bit more robust (pauses when you lose focus, fixed a bug where it could kill the whole stream if the sound buffer ever emptied, some adaptive framerate/audio fixes for out-of-sync issues).

STONE THE CROWS! Are you ready to explore the wilds of the Australian Outback in this remastered version of the classic game, TY the Tasmanian Tiger?
Join TY on a RIPPER of an adventure to free his family from the DREAMING and stop the nefarious evil genius BOSS CASS from removing mammals from the top of the food chain.
To help you on your quest, you've got a BEAUT arsenal of boomerangs, sharp teeth, and the help of a few friends!
So don’t be a galah - let's head down under, and have a CORKER of a time! BEAUTY, BOTTLER, BONZA!
- Explore 17 levels of the Australian Outback in their old-school 3D platforming glory
- 13 different boomerangs including the Frostyrang, Flamerang and powerful Doomerang
- Improved graphics; including updated shadows, reflections, HD resolutions and 60fps
- Steamworks integration for achievements and leaderboards
G'day mate! Things can be a bit confusing at times, so let me remind you what's going on...
You are TY, the last of the Tasmanian Tigers. Raised by a family of Bilbies, you can only vaguely recall your real parents. You've always thought that all the other Tassie Tigers died a long time ago.
But then the Bunyip Elder found you, and told you that your family is alive, but trapped in the Dreaming. Now hold your horses... don't get upset... you see they're not stuck there forever, if you're up for a bit of an adventure!
You see, deep in the Outback, there's this kind of glowy portal thing that is a doorway to the Dreaming. And around that portal there are some carvings in the rock, where five ancient mystical Talismans used to lay. Now, all you have to do is find the five Talismans, put them in the carvings, and the portal to Dreaming will open!
Now, before you go off like a frog in a sock, there's just this one SMALL problem. You see there's this evil cassowary - Boss Cass - who's also after the Talismans. Yes. THAT Boss Cass. The one that trapped your family in the Dreaming in the first place, and told the school board to remove all the meat pies from the tuck shops. And if you didn't think that made him enough of a megalomaniac, he's ALSO trapped a whole bunch of your Bilby mates in cages all across the outback... something about overdue library books... Anyways, if you want to open the portal, you'll have to beat him and his henchmen to the Talismans!
Don't worry though, you won't be alone! You'll have a bunch of friends to help you along the way, including me - your old mate, Maurie. Now let's get down to brass tacks, find those Talismans, and rescue your family!
