LINUX STREAMERS (4)

Ransome *Unbeeped* DLC Out Now!

The mystery adventure game Thimbleweed Park may have five playable characters, but let's face it: Ransome the Clown steals the show. If only his colorful language weren't censored to protect your delicate eardrums.

Good news, Thimbleweed Park aficionados! For the low price of $1.99, you can now remove the annoying beeps from Ransome's dialogue and hear his lines as the artiste originally intended. *Beep* yeah!

Exactly what can you expect from an uncensored Thimbleweed Park? Check out the new DLC to find out, then go wash your ears out with soap:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/638280/Thimbleweed_Park__Ransome_Unbeeped/

NOTE: To enable the *unbeeped* voice, go to Options -> Video and check the box. This option is not sticky, so you need to turn it on each time to start (you know, for the kids)

Update with new conversations, hint line more!

In Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems -- especially now that the game has received a big content update! The two biggest changes in this update are an in-game hint line and new conversations between playable characters.

In-Game Hint Line
Before there were walkthroughs and Let’s Plays, there were 1-900 numbers you could call when you were desperately stuck in an adventure game. (They cost $2 per minute!) We’ve brought back this classic feature with the HintTron 3000™. Dial 4468 (HINT) from any in-game phone to get context-sensitive hints for the part where you’re stuck. Luckily the HintTron 3000™ is absolutely free -- no outrageous phone bills from MMucasFlem!

New Conversations
Thimbleweed Park’s lead actors recently returned to the studio to record a bunch of new conversations amongst themselves. Now when two playable characters are sharing the screen, they can talk to each other instead of awkwardly standing around. Why? Because a lot of you asked for this feature, and we thought it was a good idea. Sometimes that’s all it takes. :)

Patch Notes for Build 1389.918:

  • Keys 1-6 select dialog choices.
  • Keys 9 and 0 cycle selectable characters.
  • Disable initializing the controller by putting disableController: 1 in Prefs.json
  • Playable characters do random greetings when seeing each other.
  • Playable characters can TALK TO each other.
  • Call the in-game hint line by dialing 4468 on any phone.
  • Various bug fixes.

Less In-Jokes, More Russian!

Did you notice anything different while playing Thimbleweed Park recently? Last week we quietly released an update that added in Russian language support. So if you’re a Russian speaker, know Russian speakers or want to learn Russian, spread the word that Thimbleweed Park can speak your language!

We also added in an update to hide the most annoying of our annoying in-jokes. Annoying in-jokes are now turned off by default. So if you want them on, you need to go to the options menu, click Video, and then enable “annoying in-jokes”!

We’re a little quiet on Steam. That’s partly because we’re not really sure what you’d like to see here. Let us know what you’re craving for in terms of validation, support, etc etc… and we’ll see what we can do.

We’re working on a little DLC for some future update. No timeline and no details as yet, but know that although we’re quiet here, we’re busily working away to keep making Thimbleweed Park better and better!

Build Notes for 1307.858

Today we released a new build and recommend that you update your game when you can. Thanks to those players who helped find issues with the game! Please report any bugs you find to support@thimbleweedpark.com

Build 1307.858

  • Fixed a few rare game-breaking issues related to the portal, the pirate hat, Ransome's cheese, and Willy's dime. (Many thanks to the eagle-eyed players who reported these!). If you experienced one of these, your saved game will be repaired in the new build!
  • Additional minor bug fixes.
  • Ctrl-o now opens options.
  • Mouse wheel now scrolls inventory.
  • Remapping of verb hot keys now available by editing the Prefs file.

Please also note: You probably don't really need all those Save Game slots, but if a character asks you to save your game... do.

Thimbleweed Park Coming Soon!

Thimbleweed Park is the adventure game you didn’t know you were waiting for...

Lost along a dusty stretch of highway, Thimbleweed Park is a neglected and forgotten place, home to the lost and abandoned.

This once proud town boasted an opulent hotel, a vibrant business district, and the state’s largest pillow factory. Now boarded up and falling down, the town stinks of a desperate longing to be what it once was.

A body is found in the river and no one seems to care – not the pigeon plumbers or the drunk passed out by the bushes, not the sheriff or the coroner or the giant talking slice of pizza. Everyone has their own troubles in Thimbleweed Park.

The mystery begins to unravel when two uninvited agents show up to “investigate” the murder. Before long a cursed clown, a disinherited game designer, and the ghost of a pillow salesman are entwined in a conspiracy that takes them all deeper than they ever knew possible.

In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems.
