We are pleased to confirm that the isometric survival-horror, SKYHILL: Black Mist, will debut on PC on May 28th this year.
We will soon reveal gameplay trailers and raw footage from the game. We also plan live streams closer to premiere! Stay tuned! Below please check new screens from our game!
As you may know, SKYHILL: Black Mistis a follow-up to uniqueSkyhillgame from 2015. A simple idea wrapped in 2D comic-book graphics appealed to thousands of players around the world, instantly becoming an indie bestseller with 200k units sold!
SKYHILL: Black Mist, the second installment of the series, is a combination of classic horror and gameplay straight from survival games. The game loosely parallels the original concept, but gameplay-wise it's a revolutionary step forward. This time the developers moved from 2D to 3D, presenting the action in an isometric view. The game mechanics have been significantly enhanced withstealthelements and solutions known frommetroidvania-like games, including the ability to re-explore already visited locations to find previously inaccessible items and information. An important element of the game, also improved compared to the original, is a crafting system that allows players to craft items that will help them survive in the most difficult conditions.
he story inSKYHILL: Black Mistis inspired by the classic horror cinema, while also introducing mysterious and paranormal elements that we associate with such series asStranger Things. The player cannot be sure what is true and what is an illusion. Locked in a haunted luxurious building complex owned by the mysterious corporation Skyhill Inc., he tries to understand who or what stands behind the eponymous Black Mist that turns people into mindless monsters.
Heres short note from Eugene, head of SKYHILL: Black Mist project:
"I think of the first Skyhill as a kind of an introduction to what we're creating now for Black Mist. We had time to significantly improve and expand the main concept; only the haunted building was left from the original game. The scale and the scope of this new adventure are incomparably greater, both in terms of gameplay solutions and due to the transition to extensive 3D locations that can be freely explored. It's a big game, full of surprises and plot-twists. I hope both fans of the original game and new players will like it."

Hardcore Gamer
The planet is filled with trippy touches and striking imagery. There’s an adorable robotic companion who pops up from time to time to offer cryptic advice, and tons of interesting environmental details. (...) People who want to explore a striking new land in a relaxing fashion will be in heaven here. Adding to this are some interesting puzzles. An early one that involved rearranging pieces of a coil to reactivate the ships engine was simple and clever. Traversal puzzles that goof around with gravity are a delight to solve as they force a level of three dimensional thinking that is satisfying to solve.
VR Focus
The world that Carbon Studio has created is a fantastic mix of sci-fi architecture and bizarre dreamlike scenarios. The books inspiration can be seen everywhere, from the mechanical cat that occasionally appears to the out and out absurdly trippy experiences, sharks flying through the sky, menacing black and white forests, tunnels that twist and turn as your viewpoint changes, it’s a visual assault on the senses. Add to that the eerie audio score, and you have quite an engaging mixture.
God is a Geek
With a five hour playthrough it’s one of the longer story-based VR titles, and with monitor support included, you can always experience the wacky world of Alice VR minus the VR.
