Hello divers! It's been a while, but over the past two years we've been taking bits of free time here and there to go back and improve this game where we can. It's not perfect, but we've been able to resolve some of the major issues that were plaguing the Resubmerged edition, like quest breaks, save file issues, and inventory problems.
- convert save file serialization to more stable format
- fix a ton of little UI bugs
- fix inventory overflow problem
- add controller mapping for Dualshock 2, 3 gamepads
- fix Xbox One gamepad recognition on Windows 10
- fix various quest breaks and missing quest assets
- enable 4:3 aspect ratio

Hey everyone, I'd like to talk to you about the situation, and I don't mean the jacked up dude from Jersey Shore. You've probably noticed if you've played Re-submerged that there's a number of open issues. People are upset about that, and rightfully so. Communication between devs and players is important to me, but it can also be nerve-racking, so I've been putting it off. For the duration of support and many months pre-release, I've been the only technical developer on this project. I specify 'technical' because the wonderful LightReturn has been working on music composition, sound design, and testing throughout, however he's not a programmer. Diluvion is a big game, and even though we did (believe it or not) test for hundreds of hours before launching, there's a lot that got past us. Fixing the remaining issues is no small task, especially for one person. The reason I'm bringing this up is that I'd like to be clear on why support is so slow. This is not how I make money; I'm in the middle of a career shift, and I've been putting a lot of energy (read:all of it) into my job and further education. I'm not abandoning the community or Diluvion, but until I have some stable footing, it's necessary for me to focus my effort on other things. I speak for the team when I say we really appreciate the support and enthusiasm we've received from you throughout this process. Thanks for reading. :) Sincerely, -Leo

Hello there! Some players have had issues with data going missing from save files (items/gold disappearing, missing quests, etc), and if you're one of those players, this post is for you. Although we've attempted numerous times, we've been unable to reproduce this issue, which leads me to believe it's system specific. (not dissing your computer)
If you're having this issue and would like to help resolve it
We have a new development build on Beta branch- switch to the dev build and it will produce extra info that we can use to squash this bug. The best way for us to identify and fix it is to have an output log from a play session where it happened. If you do see error messages on screen during save/load, please send us your output log from the play session in the forums. Steps to access the dev build: [olist]
- Make sure hidden folders are visible
- Find the output log at C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalLowArachnid GamesDiluvionoutput_log.txt
Thanks again for anyone who is able to help!

Hey everyone, I'm happy to announce that we're officially launching Diluvion: Resubmerged today at 10:00am PST! Diluvion Resubmerged Trailer
What's New
Diluvion: Resubmerged is the result of the past year and a half of additional development we've done on Diluvion. We've done a complete overhaul of the salvaging system, UI, and ship upgrade system. There's also new side quests, improved enemy AI, improved navigation, and many more small quality of life fixes.
For Beta Testers (Important!)
We're doing a swaparoo; Resubmerged will now be on the default branch, and original Diluvion will be moved to staging branch. If you already have Resubmerged installed, make sure you opt out of beta to continue with Resubmerged updates.
Loading An Old Save
We do support loading a save file from the original Diluvion, however because the quest structures have changed, it's not recommended. If you do have a game in progress and would like to continue it without interruption, the original Diluvion is still on the staging branch. When you load an original save into Resubmerged, it creates a copy of the save file, so you won't lose the original game state.
Dev Livestream
I'll be doing a dev livestream and talking about new features while running through the main quest line! Come check it out on Good Sheperd's broadcast here!
Feedback
As always, we'll be taking feedback in the forums. Let us know if you run into issues, bugs, or just have general feedback. (also if you have good things to say about the game too, we like that!)
Localization
Resubmerged has new text, and the original launch languages (English, French, German, Polish, Russian) are supported. We added a new section in the settings for community localizations. These are partially complete, but we'll be updating them as we get new text from the community.
OSX Version
Today's launch is the Windows version, however the OSX version isn't far behind- we ran into a little snag that we have to get solved, but it should be ready in about one week.
Thank You and Enjoy!
Thanks to everyone in the community who discussed, tested, and helped us complete Resubmerged!

Hello again fellow divers!
Gamepad Controls
The latest version of the Diluvion 1.2 beta has been uploaded to beta branch, and it includes gamepad controls. There's some handy new features in this version, such as being able to use the bumpers to cycle between characters & stations. So far we've tested with Xbox One / 360 controllers, so if anyone has other controllers they'd like to test with, it would be much appreciated! Also, we've decided to go with Diluvion: Resubmerged for the official name of 1.2 Thanks to Thuzar for the suggestion!
Localization
Since there's new text in this version of the game, we'll be posting a new localization doc soon for community translations of additional languages. Since there's a significant cost to localization we will only be localizing the original launch languages ourselves. However, we'll gladly implement any languages that the community is able to localize.

We've fleshed out the Abyssal Trench quite a bit, and there's a lot of new stuff to see there. Check out our update video here We'd also like your input on what the full title should be: Right now it's between Diluvion: Accretion and Diluvion: Sunken Grimoire. Let us know in the comments!

To all our players, thank you for sticking with us through this journey, and having patience with bugs and imbalance in the beta build. Your feedback not only helps us identify issues, but motivates us along the way. To new players: there are effectively two versions of the game available. By default, you'll get the stable launch version. We identified some mechanics and features we want to change post-launch, so we created a newer version with the working title of 'Diluvion 1.2' (yes we're coming up with a better name). The new version is still in beta, but it's available to you if you're interested in being involved in the development process. We've updated the beta with a much requested feature - as long as your sub isn't in immediate danger, you can save anywhere! We still have the 'save fish', which behave more like an autosave.
Full Changeset (1.2)
- Added option to save in pause menu
- Added option to load file in pause menu
- Reworked 'load file' panel
- Fixed bug where speed would increase indefinitely when changing helm station's crew
- Fixed soft freeze when quitting to menu
- Added confirmation panel when quitting to menu or desktop
- Fixed bug where camera would lock when swapping ships
- Lots of small hazard balance tweaks
- Balanced loot values in Sunken Coast
Known Issues (1.2)

Hello there! Diluvion 1.2 Beta has been updated with lots of goodies - we're now at version 1.2.16. If you're new to Diluvion, 1.2 is a version we've been working on to improve the game's core mechanics. You can find instructions for how to opt in here.
New stuff:
- Sunken Coast added
- Many many new sound effects
- Re-factored loot panel, added 'swap' option
- Officers will return upgrades now when leaving your crew
- Sonar - Ping will reveal if a target is friendly or hostile, and will react to quest waypoints
- Added keyboard navigation (arrow keys) to main menu, sub selection
- Added weapon swapping HUD (press I or O to swap)
Bug fixes:
- Fixed Home Base
- Fixed inventory positions in Glaciem VI and Mariana subs
- Dock icon properly displays when something's been docked to
- Fixed - attempting to view interior while docked to an air capsule freezes game
- Fixed text for pollen valley quest
- Fixed 'Ice Cutaway' graphic
- Fixed Kat's positioning in Bounty Jail
- Save files now display correct information
- Fixed loading music
- Fixed - escape, re-enter battle with hazard breaks the hazard
- Fixed - merchants restock during transaction with player
Known issues:
- Performance slowly degrades over longer play sessions. We're still figuring this one out. As a temporary fix, exit and re-open after saving.
- Bug with quitting to menu
- DLC ships will not load. If you see a 'blank' sub (with no equipment) in ship selection scene, this is a result of the game mis-reading DLC data. Don't switch to it
What's Next
Our next development session will be focused on improving the feel of combat, and getting files from previous versions of the game to load without issue into 1.2. As always, we'll be fixing any major bugs that come up in the forum. Thanks to everyone who's played the beta and given us feedback. We hope to hear more from you, happy diving!

This can be caused by newer save files confusing the old build. Simply browse to your save files at C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Arachnid Games\Diluvion\SaveFiles and move any 1.2 save files from this folder to fix the problem.

Hey there again you lovely people!
The next few days are going to be really special for us, as weve teamed-up with the amazing folks from One Gamer Fund and have put our entire library of Good Shepherd Entertainment published titles on sale for the lowest prices each respective title has ever been available for here on Steam to benefit the One Gamer Fund during its inaugural charity weekend.
The One Gamer Fund is a new philanthropic initiative comprised of seven gaming nonprofits: AbleGamers, Childs Play, Games for Change, Global Game Jam, the IGDA Foundation, Stack-Up and Take This. Between 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 21 to 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 25, half of all proceeds generated by purchases of Good Shepherd games after Steams share of revenue is factored will be donated directly to the IGDA Foundation on behalf of the One Gamer Fund and subsequently dispersed among all partnering nonprofits.
This is not all though! Weve also just launched a special new Good Shepherd Entertainment Bundle to coincide with this sale. This bundle will allow those whom already own some of our games to easily complete their set at a special additional 25% discount! This means that you can add even more gaming goodness to life whilst helping these seven amazing charities and causes.
A number of Twitch personalities will also be hosting special streams to aid the One Gamer Fund throughout the weekend. Individuals can learn more about ways to participate by visiting www.OneGamerFund.org and following @OneGamerFund on Twitter.
We cant tell you guys how much this sales means to us and how proud we are to be a small part of helping these amazing causes. None of this would be possible without all of your help though, so on behalf of everyone involved in this benefit sale, we just wanted to say thank you very much for your continued support!
Heres to the power of gaming!

Hey everyone! We've had some questions about the Diluvion revisions we're working on, and just to clear up any confusion, we are still making it. In fact, we've been working on it non-stop since release.
Watch this video to see where it's at so far!
This is also a good time to thank y'all for being an awesome supportive community, helping with localization, bug fixes, and game flow. Couldn't do it without you. We'll be in touch again soon with more updates on 1.2, including an actual name.

Hey all, hope you're having a great summer so far. We're participating in the Summer Sale, and Diluvion is 50% off! We've been getting some questions from newcomers about the state of the game; "Is it still buggy?" "Have they been updating/fixing it?" And this is good! That's what a discerning customer does. Just to set the record straight, we fixed most of the major issues within a week of release:
- Checkpoint frequency
- Controls
- Camera settings
- Difficulty balance / enemy frequency
- Linux support

While the majority of our resources are dedicated towards Diluvion 1.2 and the subsequent content patch, we still have plenty of changes scheduled until those big updates. We might not have a new update every week, but when we do we'll be uploading it onto the beta branch on Fridays and leaving it up for at least 10 days in order to minimize bugs. Then, on Mondays, the update would become the live branch of the game. We're constantly working to improve Diluvion. As always, we welcome and appreciate your feedback. Good luck & have fun!

Attention Fellow Captains!
We just wanted to inform you that two special new ships are now available in the game for the bravest of explorers to pilot. We’ve heard your requests for additional larger classed ships, and we’re very happy to announce that today’s update adds the twin destroyer-class ships, Lun and Sul, to the game! Both ships can be accessed at the Spirios shipyard, and will be available to everyone as soon as the update has been installed.
Here’s the official announcement straight from the Spirios City Royal Dock offices:
Citizens of all titles and stations gathered today at the Spirios City Royal docks as Duke Fenmire (first of his title) finally unveiled his much anticipated gift for Lord Charles Spirios’64th birthday celebration. The twin ships Lun and Sul, their hulls shining brightly in the reflection of the city lights, are due to take their maiden voyage on a patrol of the Sunken Coast.
Fenmire’s rise from common son of a minor to favoured noble of the Spirios household has long been the subject of much gossip, with some questioning exactly where his loyalties lie following his marriage to the daughter of a notoriously outspoken Dweller cleric. The Spirios Chronicle had the pleasure of talking to the Duke himself on his generous gift:
“Sir Charles Spirios was the man who sent me on my journey of awakening. If he had not seen fit to send me to the Abyss, I would have never met my darling wife or come to know the true nature of our existence. I can only hope that by presenting Sir Charles with these humble gifts, made in the name of Sul, he who guided our worthy ancestors to salvation, and Lun, she who watches over and protects us, he too will come to know the Deeps' plan for us and act to save his own immortal soul.
The fun doesn’t end with just these new ships though, as this update also adds support for Japanese and Hungarian languages to the game. To this end we want to extend a huge special thank you to Kengo700 and Lostprophet.hu for all of their incredible hard work and support in taking-on the monumental task of localizing the game into Japanese and Hungarian, and making their work available to everyone. You guys are beyond awesome, thank you!
Other Updates:
Everyone here is hard at work preparing a slew of new huge surprises beyond today’s update and we can’t wait to share more with all of you. Not only are we planning on adding more content to the game, but we’ve been closely listening to all of your feedback and we’ll be introducing several new improvements which will make exploring the secrets of the deep more enjoyable for everyone. This new content and improvements will be introduced in several upcoming updates, and we should have more to share soon. Please keep an eye out on this space for more information about upcoming updates. In the meantime, we really hope that you enjoy the new ships and we can’t wait to hear what you think of them. Thanks again for sticking with us and for your continued support! Greetings, -Arachnid Team-

Hello fellow divers, hope you are all having a great March.
We're now releasing the save backup system in the main branch for both PC and Mac. Special thanks for those who tested this in the beta branch. Papa bless.
We've talked about the backup system before, but just to refresh: This system creates a backup when you save if it's been more than 10 minutes since your last backup. The appear in the 'backups' folder inside the save file folder.
C:Users[username]AppDataLocalLowarachnid gamesdiluvionsavefiles
All you need to do to use a backup is drag it from the backups folder into the main save folder.
Other Updates
We're hard at work on the revisions to 1.2. We have a lot of great stuff coming, and we've been working on some core components as well that make it easier for us to create content, and a more stable game. We also have a content update coming in April, but I don't want to spoil the surprise just yet. For the updates beyond, here's a sneak peek at one of the new creatures we're working on. It's based on a humphead parrotfish, but these guys in particular can grow up to the size of a Beluga class sub.
Thanks again everyone for sticking with us; it's been sick to read everyone's discussions and improve the game with the community. :) Cheers, -Arachnid Team

Hey all!
First off, thanks for being one of the best communities we've ever worked with. It's been awesome to see all your feedback, and much of it we're working on implementing.
One thing that's been upsetting to us is that some folks are losing data on their save files. We're working on finding and nailing any areas where this can happen, but it seems to be happening almost at random to a small percentage of players, so it's taking us more time than we'd hoped to fix.
Because of this, we've introduced a save backup system, which is currently available in the beta branch.
The way this works, is every time you save, if it's been more than 10 minutes, it will create another backup file. It should help to reduce data loss while we continue to smash them bugs.
Once you start using the system, the backups can be found here:
And if data loss does occur, simply drag the most recent backup from the backups folder into the SaveFiles folder.
To help us test out this new system, just right click on Diluvion, go to properties, and opt into beta.
Thanks again for being so patient with us. I hope this solution can alleviate some frustration while we make progress on eliminating data loss.
