Heliborne 0.45 "Synergy" Update is Live!
- 2 man mortar squad with 20 mines - costs 8 points per squad - can be deployed anywhere on the map - has firing range of 300 - 3000 meters, radio contact range of 5000 meters - has proper mine travel time - do not expect mines to be fast - receives targetting from any recon helicopter with "Mortar Observer" - one recon helicopter can control up to 6 mortar teams at once
- all AA now significantly more accurate - it tries to predict your flying pattern - the more you are in its sights - the more accurate it becomes, it takes ~20 seconds to reach maximum accuracy - spotting formula introduced: the smaller your helicopter is and the lower you fly - the harder it is for AA to spot you - with the new spotting formula you can sneak around AA positions on lower altitudes, but if you are flying high - it will spot you much earlier - it has morale now - shooting at AA now makes it shoot less accurate and less frequently
- now you can direct your special soldiers upon landing, just point where you want them to run, before deploying them - directed deployment radius is 50 meters - MANPAD's behaviour changed: from now they will include spottinng formula in target search, they wont shoot at you on sight, but wait small amount of time till you move closer to them - MANPAD missile speed increased - MANPAD targetting range increased by 100 meters - you can see your soldiers positions on minimap from now on (look for small orange dots)
- from now on helicopters of different classes will spot enemies on different distances: recon helicopters can spot enemies from further away then attack helicopters and transport helicopters - to spot vehicles or AA positions you need line of sight now - recon helicopters are able to share spotted targets with their team using radio spotted message - binded to 'V' by default
- added 7 basic radio messages - you can send them via F2-F8 shortcuts - or via '`' menu and 1-7 afterwards
- you can choose to spectate your teammates when you lost or changing your helicopter
- decreased price of first Ka-52 variant and increased price of second and third variant - friendly helicopters marked by type above them in combat, triangle is recon, rombus is attack and square is transport - changed several ammo hit effects - changed armor hit effect for most higher-caliber guns - added ricochet effect for all bullets - some visual fixes on Nguyen map

Heliborne seeks to introduce players to rotary-wing aviation and combat. Players will have the ability to fly a number of helicopters from the 60's forward in to the year 2000 across a wide range of maps and in a wide range of mission scenarios. Players will be able to take part in a dynamic battlefield where they support the movement of ground forces that fortify positions and create supply-lines.
Heliborne offers a new type of "Zone" Capture as one of it's core game-play concepts. Troops carried by certain helicopters must be landed at, and deployed to a landing zone. These troops fortify the zone, and in some game modes, defend a base until ground re-enforcements arrive.

- Updated simul-lite/arcade hybrid flight model that models over 70 different aspects of flight per helicopter.
Our Flight model melds the best of both worlds, and while being updated regularly, is in a state that we are very happy with. This includes momentum and inertia dynamics. This system will be expanded on with more realistic flight dynamics as the project grows. - 41 Helicopter, Each with multiple weapons load-outs
The load-outs for each of our helicopters is based entirely on weapons systems that they would have, or did employ in active combat theaters and operations. You wont see a weapons loadout on our helicopters that is not historically accurate. - 4 Major Mission Maps - Including Operation Nguyen Hue, Afghanistan, the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam, and Kosovo
All of our maps are "based" on historical conflicts and conflict locations. - 2 Principle Game modes - Including standard skirmish, and Frontline mode that's currently exclusive to Operation Nguyen Hue
Skirmish mode is currently active on Afghanistan and Gulf of Tonkin and offers standard capture the flag gameplay. Operation Nguyen Hue offers the first glimpse at "Frontline" mode. As bases are captured by players, ground vehicles spawn in convoys and move across the map to fortify bases and positions. - Multiple AI controlled ground units in skirmish and Front-line mode
Tanks, Troop Carriers, and Anti-Aircraft Artillery vehicles make up the current roster of ground vehicles in Heliborne, more are planned. - Airborne Troops that can be deployed anywhere on the mapMANPADS or "Man-Portable Air Defense system" are just some of the "deploy-able" ground units that players can place anywhere, on any map. Not all helicopters carry these soldiers. Those that can, add a new level to the dynamic battlefield.

Scout Helicopters are small, fast, and may or may not carry a small amount of soldiers. Attack Helicopters carry no troops and are dedicated to air-to-air or air-to-ground operations.
