Hi winemakers!
Great news: version 1.07 is here and it brings lots of small but nice new features. Least among them is Steam Achievements -- finally, some extra challenge to your virtual winemaking career. We've also done quite a few improvements for performance, and *drum roll* are now releasing the Linux build!
We've also added a new wine distributor: Kruppe Foods. This new distributor is more like a bulk buyer, and was a suggestion from our awesome community of gamers.
Made a bad batch of wine? Don't clog your other distributors with bottles that they'll struggle to sell -- just sell it to Kruppe, who will buy it at a reduced rate of 15% of your wine's Retail Price.
Here's a complete list of tweaks, changes and additions (many of which are suggestions straight out of our discussion boards):
- Steam achievements added
- Bulk distributor added (Kruppe Foods)
- Added animated trees
- Added ambient occlusion
- Linux version!
- Changed the way the cellar works: the game pauses first, then the animation plays so that the calendar doesn't change after they've clicked, thereby changing the characteristics of the stored wines
- Added wine price to the Reviews window

Features
Some of the game's features and mechanics include:
[/h2]- Choose from a selection of different grape varieties, each with their own demands
- Dynamic weather system patterned after the Bordeaux wine region's climate.
- Each complete playthrough lasts 70 in-game years, but Players can continue playing without contributing to their final score.
- Craft wine through the game's 4 winemaking processes: Crushing, Fermentation, Pressing and Ageing. Each type of grape needs to be crafted a certain way to achieve the best results, so you'll have to learn and master each one.
- Start out with a single planting tile, then expand your Chateau to up to 33 tiles, using 6 different tile types. Some tiles affect the ones around it, so placement is key.
- Coming Soon: CHANCE & CIRCUMSTANCE: Terroir's random event and mission system. Players can open the Mystery Box and choose between CHANCE (a random event that could either have a positive or undesirable outcome) or CIRCUMSTANCE (a mission that a Player completes for rewards, or gets penalized for failing).
- Clean, minimalist design and gorgeous low-poly 3D models.
- Original soundtrack composed and performed by Singapore's CLARQuinet ensemble.
- Mac and Linux versions to be released in the coming weeks after EA release.
Put on your field gloves, grab a pair of pruning shears and build your Chateau literally from the ground up. Good luck, and cheers!
