Hi all, We are happy to announce the release of a major update for Rival Books of Aster! Our devs have been hard at work implementing new features and bug fixes which will be outlined in detail below. We have been listening to everyone who has been participating in our early access and today’s update will address many of the concerns and wants of the community. While early access is still a work in progress, we think that today’s release is a big step forward towards for the team and hopefully for you, the players. New features Ora We have added an in-game currency to RBA that will allow you to purchase cosmetic items for your account. Open up the chronicles and navigate to your favourite card to see the options for purchase. Each win will award you 10 Ora. Win streaks of 3 will net you 20 Ora, Win streaks of 5 will get you 30 Ora, and 10 in a row will get you 40 Ora. We think that this will give those of you who need it motivation to keep banging out those wins on the battlefield. As a gift to all of our early adopters we have convinced Clauneck to give each of you 200 Ora to spend as you please. Ora Unlockables For now, you can spend your Ora unlocking the flavour text for each card in the chronicles and to purchase custom Avatars of your favourite cards. These Avatars will be displayed on the game board instead of the house sigil of the deck your are playing. We have plans to expand the available unlockables as early access moves forward, so stay tuned. Additional features These additional features came directly from you, the players. We have tried to address as many of your concerns as possible and will continue to do so as we keep pushing on. Added tooltip to list view in deck builder Leaderboard now scrolls to your own position automatically Cards in deck builder are larger Cards in hand now have a particle effect to show which ones you can afford Show recently played users in Steam Added more information to the choose starting deck screen Queued attacks and cards played from hand now animate immediately End turn button now animates immediately More control over music and sound effect volume Changed texture compression settings and reduced build size Various animation timing tweaks Bugs fixed: Fixed the Snare tooltip showing incorrect information Fixed an issue where opponent simula would sometimes overlap Fixed an issue where deck builder would get stuck in loading state after deleting a deck Fixed an issue where deck builder ink sliders would get stuck Replaced drag to attack sound effect Fixed certain red simula showing as black in the chronicles Fixed issues with tutorial sometimes getting messages out of order Tooltips in hand and on board are bigger Text on cards in hand is easier to read We still want feedback from all of you on these changes and any others that you would like to see. Thanks for being part of early access on Rival Books of Aster, now go get yourself some Ora.

Happy long weekend to all of our fellow Canadians. Come hang out with a few of us right now on Twitch! https://www.twitch.tv/twodacka
Well, early access launch week has been exciting for us here on the Rival Books team, and we are so glad that you could share it with us. First off, thank you all for participating both by downloading and playing the game, and also for posting your bug reports, questions, and suggestions in the community forums on Steam. We could hardly ask for a better launch week response. We have tried to answer as many of your posts as possible and will continue to answer them individually as best we can. We have been listening closely and we want to address a few specific points that seem to be a concern for most players.
CARD TEXT FONT SIZE AND ZOOMING
Many of you have reached out to us about the size of cards in hand and the font size on the card themselves. We have addressed both issues and will be pushing fixes for this to the main game as soon as they are fully tested.
REASONS FOR PLAYING
We recognize that motivation for players to keep playing and grinding out wins is important. We hear you loud and clear: achievements, milestones, and rewards that offer a feeling of progression are an absolute necessity. We are currently working on this: Currency & Unlockables In an upcoming update, we will be introducing an in-game currency to help reward you for playing. Every time you win a game, you will earn a little bit of this currency, and win streaks will award you bonus multipliers that earn you even more. At first, this currency will only be usable to unlock the bonus “flavour” text for cards in the Chronicles, but we have plans to quickly expand purchasable items to include player avatars and alternate game boards to start offering areas of customization within the game. Beyond this first set of unlockables, the sky's the limit for this new currency. We have a few other things in the works that we want to offer you, but it’s too early to talk about what those are just yet. We will be ramping these additions up slowly as these are going to take quite a bit of work. We would love to hear from you on the message boards about other types of things you would like to see. Leaderboard We’re also actively working on new features to make the leaderboard more rewarding. We know that as the player base grows, it needs to evolve into something more than just a single ranked list. It was never our intent for it to be just that, but the more interesting features are not quite there yet. It’s too early to give more details, but rest assured, we will tell you more as soon as we can.
CHANGES MADE IN WEEK ONE
Below is a collected list of fixes that we have made in the past week. Our awesome devs have been hard at work and we will continue to tweak and fix as many things as we can, as fast as we can. None of this would have been possible without YOU taking a chance by downloading and playing a completely unknown early access title and then taking the time to send us your feedback and thoughts. We hope that you stick with us for the rest of this journey and that we can deliver a product that lives up to your expectations. Fixes

Hi all, Adam here. I am one of the game designers on Rival Books of Aster. I want to announce our official Early Access Release date is going to be Tuesday June 20th, 2017. There will be no more delays! We want to thank everyone who has been patiently awaiting our early access release. We are want to apologize for changing the release date on you (TWICE!), but we assure you that the delays in the last week were because we wanted to make sure that we deliver the best day 1 experience we can. PRICING To start we've heard you loud and clear on the forums, this is not a game that the community considers f2p so we are going to change that designation on the game’s Steam Store page. Let me explain how our pricing will break down on release day. We will be instituting early access pricing for Rival Books of Aster. Your first starter pack will be free and each of the 3 additional starter packs will cost $4.99. There are 4 expansion packs, 1 for each house and these will be priced at $2.99. We chose this model for a few reasons. As we have mentioned before on the message boards, we hate opening random packs, so we wanted to come up with a pricing structure that let players be competitive with a small investment. We also want to make it possible to collect all of the cards in our release day set for what we think is a reasonable price. After you play a deck from each house in the tutorial you will get to choose your first starter deck for free. If you want to be fully competitive with one house it will cost you $2.99 and you will have all of the cards for that house. You will be missing some common cards, but the major archetypes for the house you have chosen will be covered. To purchase the entire game you will need to buy 3 more starter decks and 4 expansions packs- the total cost will be $26.93. We decided that we wanted you to be able to buy as much or as little as you like, and we think this is the best way to achieve that. Your free starter deck will be yours for as long as you own the game, so choose wisely! LAUNCH DISCOUNT I am also very happy to announce that during launch week we will be discounting the prices of all DLC’s by 40%. At this price the whole launch day set will cost $16. We want to give early adopters a chance to get into the early access for cheap. We are looking forward to hearing all of your constructive criticism and making the best CCG game we can, with your help of course! Be well, and I will see you on the plains of Aster next Tuesday! Adam
