Announcing “Dungeons Duct Tape” DLC – And Prison Editor Custom Rooms!

Hey everyone You’ve been asking for it, and we’ve of course been working on it. Being able to make your very own rooms in The Escapists 2 is important to the creative process, and we’re very, very excited to be able to confirm that it’s coming. Oh, what’s that? Right, it’s actually AVAILABLE TODAY!!!
Just update your game at 5 PM BST today and jump into the updated editor. Those familiar with the Prison Editor from The Escapists will feel right at home here, as the updated editor for The Escapists 2 works much in the same way. You can still place pre-set rooms like before, but now you’re able to change absolutely everything about these rooms including walls, floors, objects, everything. You can also create rooms from scratch using the Zone Tool, allowing you to create any type of room any way you want. This includes the ability to now freely place a ton of new objects – like desks – anywhere you please! The editor will now also display potential issues with your prison, like being unable to get to your desk, make your way to roll call, or if a door has been blocked somewhere unintentionally.

Dungeons and Duct Tape

If you prefer prisons handcrafted by the team here at Team17, we’re also excited to announce our latest DLC prison – and the final prison included in the Season Pass – called “Dungeons & Duct Tape”! It’s a medieval prison set in Locke Castle, which has you utilising the Grappling Hook a lot more to get around the prison, as it’s a lot more vertical than our usual slammers. It’s time to make your prisoner truly yours. Choose from a massive array of customisations to make your character unique to you. It’s important to look stylish whilst you mastermind your escape.

Craft your Escape!

Being in prison forces you to be creative and work with the limited tools at your disposal. You’ll have to combine everyday objects like soap and socks to craft new weapons and tools to help you achieve your goal. Steal forks from the cafeteria to chip a tunnel in your room, and craft a poster from magazines and duct tape to hide the evidence. You’ll soon learn that duct tape solves (almost) everything!

Prepare for a fight!

The Escapists 2 introduces a brand new combat system to make every prison brawl more exciting and interactive. You’ll have to block and tie together chains of attacks whilst strafing around your locked on targets to gain the upper hand in combat. Make sure your visit the gym first to build up those muscles!

As the prisons get tougher you’re going to have to get more creative with your escape plans. There’s a ton of options to tackle almost any prison escape.
