Hi everybody!
We are Mipumi, an indie development studio based in Austria, creators of The Lions Song and The Flower Collectors, and this is our new game Howl.
Welcome! Thanks for stopping by.
[previewyoutube=v-DgJWRByBw;full][/previewyoutube]
Howl is a game of planning and prophecy inspired by mediaeval folktales. The land has fallen to the mysterious howling plague, which turns all to hear it into beasts. You play a deaf hero travelling in search of a cure.
Combat in Howl is tactical and turn-based: plan your battles up to six steps in advance, outflanking your monstrous enemies. As you fight youll weave a continuous piece of scripture, creating the prophecy of your own life. The world of Howl is rendered in a unique living ink style that paints the story as you play, evoking the tapestries and manuscripts that inspired this world.
Thats all we can tell you for now, but rest assured we have plenty more cool details to reveal. Please be sure to follow and wishlist if you like the look of the game!
Best,
Team Mipumi

Dear players, friends and fans,
Weve been waiting for this moment and are super proud to reveal our next game: The Flower Collectors!
For our second game, we wanted to keep some core values of our debut (narrative driven journey into a unique , unusual setting, dealing with different social issues, full of interesting characters) while also venturing out to completely new and unexplored territory for us that we hope youll enjoy just as much as The Lions Song.
The Flower Collectors is a detective mystery, set in the political powder-keg of Barcelona in 1977. You play as Jorge, an ex-cop in a wheelchair, who witnesses a murder and teams up with a young ambitious journalist to bring the truth to light.
You can watch the game reveal trailer and find more info about the game, screenshots, gifs and much more on the Steam page.
If you like the look of The Flower Collectors we would really appreciate if you could wishlist it, since that is super helpful for a small developer like us in order to get Steam to notice the game.
The Flower Collectors will be coming to Steam this year. We cant wait to show you more and would love to hear what you think about the game in the comments!

A sincere "Servus" from Mi'pu'mi Games in Vienna, Austria.
Since we released the first episode of The Lion's Song - Silence, we were overwhelmed by your positive feedback about the music and score of our little game. Especially about Wilma's Violine concert in the first episode.
Hence we are very proud and honored to present to you the Original Soundtrack of The Lion's Song.
With the help of Dynamedion who is responsible for the wonderful score, we are happy to release a representative cross section of the original music.
We hope it brings back some fond memories of your experience with Wilma, Franz, Emma and Bert. Maybe you find yourself in a small mountain hut one day and are then able to enjoy the music Wilma composed in a similar surrounding.
Please enjoy :-)
From Vienna with Love.

Now that the Full Season was released last week, you are able to explore all connections across all episodes and characters, we mentioned in our communication since Episode 1 - Silence.
Have you ever experienced a situation where one small detail seems to leave a large impact on a completely different part of your life? Or talked to somebody who knows your friends through social circles you never entered? There is a saying here in Vienna which roughly translates as “Vienna is a small village”, meaning that everybody seems to know one another.
In The Lion’s Song, we tried to depict these moments in life where fate and chance intertwine, and people connect without being aware of it.
Take for example Wilma’s relationship with her mentor Arthur. If she wants to be with him and if her composition is good they will appear together later in Gustav Klimt's salon in Episode 2:
Please check out the full story with more examples as they appear early in the game, detailed described on our The Lion's Song DevBlog:
A sincere "Servus" from Mi'pu'mi Games in Vienna, Austria.
Pretty much a year ago, on July 7th 2016, we released the first episode of The Lion's Song - Silence. 12 months later we are overwhelmed by the support and positive feedback we received from YOU, our loyal and close to our heart community, along the entire way, that brought us here today.
From the entire team at Mi'pu'mi a stellar thank you to all of you!
Today, we are very proud to present to you, Episode 4 - Closure, the final chapter of The Lion's Song.
Each of the first three episodes of The Lion's Song featured its own little standalone adventure with a unique protagonist, characters and narrative. Our aim was to let players dive into a rich world of fascinating stories with very different endings, which encourages them to replay each episode and take alternate routes. For Episode 4 we’re taking a different approach, bringing the first three stories together in a way that we hope will offer you a satisfying conclusion to the path you have chosen.
The season’s finale, Episode 4 - Closure, will take you on a mysterious train ride that connects the storylines of all previous episodes. The final episode introduces a new character, that completes the group of 4 strangers in the mysterious train compartment at the beginning of all previous episodes.
What stories will these four strangers share along the way, and where will their journey end?
We promise, emotions will run high again, as you make connections with each character, and work to navigate and experience their lives in different ways with different outcomes.
The complete story is now available to you. You have the opportunity to revisit all previous episodes, connect all characters and intertwine their experiences.
From all of us here at Mi'pu'mi,
Enjoy The Lion's Song!
Last weekend Mi'pu'mi attended the international ReVersed Festival at the wonderful "Museumsquartier" here in Vienna.
The festival brought more than 60 games from all across Europe to Vienna and provided four days of interesting discussions, chats and game talks between developers.
If you are ever close by, take your chance and stop by. ReVersed is worth the trip to Vienna, as is Vienna itself of course!
With great pleasure and humble excitement we are happy to announce that The Lion's Song won Best Story Award at the ReVersed Festival! Thanks to the international jury for their trust in our beloved pixel art gem.
Good timing to pick up another award for the release of Episode 4 - Closure this Thursday, July 13th.
Mi'pu'mi Games would like to give all fans of sepia colors and narrative adventure games a reason to rejoice today, announcing that the full release of our episodic series The Lion's Song will launch on July 13, 2017.
The launch will include the fourth and final Episode 4 - Closure coming to PC via Steam, along with all episodes debuting on iOS & Android as well as Mac.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our community polls so far. It’s great to see that so many people are emotionally connected to the characters of The Lion’s Song.
In order to get you a head start for next week’s poll about The Lion’s Song: Episode 3 - Derivation, we would like to share a detailed character profile about Emma - the main protagonist of this episode - with you.
Name: Emma Recniczek
Birth Date: October 16th, 1876
Age: 38
Appearance: determined, ingeniouos, humorous
Nicknames: Emmi (as called by her father)
Emma Recniczek is an Austro-Jewish mathematician and logician. She lives in a small apartment in the ninth district of Vienna, which she inherited from her father who died of tuberculosis. She is 38 and works at the library of the University of Vienna keeping book of… books. While this might sound dull, she sports an uncommon sense of (mathematical) humor paired with a strong will and belief in Mathematics and Logic.
Emma got into mathematics through her father Jan Recniczek (an important funder of the University) who convinced many of the lecturers at the time to let her attend classes. However, that was almost fifteen years ago. She worked on her own theories ever since, her job giving her access to some of the most relevant publications in Mathematics and Logic.
At her workplace, she conceals her own notebooks (containing her theories and thought experiments) inside the voluminous registers of the library, pretending to work when actually working on something else.
Emma is working on her big theory on differential logic in an attempt to describe the world around her through changes. She is so enmeshed in her theories that starts to perceive everything around her as changes over time. However, now, she can’t put it all together. She needs input, reflection, feedback from other Mathematicians, above all opinion leader of his time: Professor Gernot Zahler.
Will Emma find a way to discuss her theory with like-minded people? Will she shed light on the problem at the center of her theory in order to achieve a major breakthrough in Mathematics?
Vote and decide what happens in the finale of The Lion's Song!

We want to bring you in the mood for the next week’s poll for The Lion’s Song: Episode 2 - Anthology.
As a little reminder what that episode was all about, we thought we’d share a short profile of the protagonist Franz with you.
Name: Franz Markert
Birth Date: December 10th, 1896
Age:18
Appearance: tall, lean, nervous
Nicknames: Franzi (as called by his parents)
Franz Markert is an 18 year old painter. He was born in Bad Vöslau, Lower Austria, where he started drawing in his grand-father’s garden at a young age. Being discovered and labeled as child prodigy, he excelled in his art education, allowing him to skip some primary school classes. However, he ultimately failed to pass his enrollment test into the Viennese School of Arts and Crafts. With his parents deeply disappointed and distraught by his failure, a desperate Franz moved to Vienna to live closer to his grandfather, who continued to support him both morally and financially.
Franz is obsessed with understanding the core of feelings, ideas and human beings which makes him overly observant. It makes him appear nervous in the company of others and he is often described as distracted, as he is constantly occupied with taking in the details of those around him.
Not long after his move to Vienna, one portrait in particular, “Woman with violin”, lead to Franz being discovered by the cultural elite close to the Wiener Moderne. With an advocate in none other than Gustav Klimt, and an already-established connection through his grandfather he was welcomed to the Wiener Salon, a meeting point for art critics, the high society and well-known colleagues.
With all the ups and downs on the road to this moment, only one question remains: will Franz blend in and find a suitable model to challenge his artistic skills? Will this next step finally allow him to see deeper?
Stay tuned for more next week!
Vote and decide what happens in the finale of The Lion's Song!

A sincere "Servus" from Mi'pu'mi Games in Vienna, Austria.
A year ago we started our journey with "The Lion's Song" and everyone at Mi'pu'mi is very proud what we achieved since the first baby steps we made. And even more so, we are very honored what we achieved together with you, with all your support and positive energy for our little pixel art gem, "The Lion's Song".
So far we "heard" the difficulties of a young talented composer finishing her grand breakthrough concert at the Wiener Musikverein, together with world famous composers like Arnold Schoenberg and Gustav Mahler.
We continued our story with aspiring painter Franz who seeks to immortalize his name within Vienna’s high society and fellow contemporary artists like Gustav Klimt, by trying to illustrate his very own perspective of his models and the time he is living in.
We do hope you are still curious how the story about artists and scientists in Austria at the beginning of the 20th century continues. Today we are proud to announce the release of "The Lion's Song: Episode 3 - Derivation".
Advance into the scientific world at the beginning of the 20th century – an era of great achievements, but also dark downfalls. On the eve of World War I mathematician Emma Recniczek enters the academic stage to solve a problem revolving around “change”. In order to discuss her theory with like-minded people Emma tries to gain access to a gentlemen’s club of famous mathematicians. As her request is denied because of her being a woman, she decides to disguise as a man.
Will this metamorphosis help Emma shed light on the problem at the centre of her theory? Will Emil be able to prevail in the circle of leading mathematicians of his time? Moreover, can she maintain her disguise or will it collapse when put to test?
Episode 3: Derivation offers the strongest connections of all episodes so far. Dive into the complex story of Emma and Emil, take "both" characters on very different paths and enjoy alternative playthroughs.
Experience the impact of your decisions not only towards the ending of Episode 3, but also the entire game world if you jump back into previously played episodes.
So don't forget to revisit Wilma and Franz after succeeding in the men's world of academia at the beginning of the 20th century.
We hope you'll enjoy this next episode as much as we did making it for you.
The Lion's Song: Season Pass
From all of us here at Mipumi,
Enjoy!

And please stay tuned for more info about the release of "Episode 3: Derivation", coming to you very soon! Yours, Mi'pu'mi Games
A year ago, we started our journey with The Lion’s Song at GDC 2016. At the prestigious and important developer conference, we showed a playable beta to the “public” for the very first time – mainly press and potential partners. In 2016, we kept travelling around the world and continued talking about the game all year long in various countries at conferences of all shapes and sizes.
With great pleasure and honor, the team humbly acknowledges the overwhelmingly positive reception – from the very first moment - by you, the players; furthermore by award judges around the globe. It really feels good to create a small indie pixel art gem that is highly acclaimed by gamers and fellow industry colleagues.
The award season started locally with the Austrian futurezone game of the year award, followed by the German Developer Award for Best Indie Game. Our friends up North also nominated The Lion’s Song for Best Story for the German Developer Award. Finally, we are very proud for the Honorable Mentions from the Independent Games Festival in the category Excellence in Narrative.
So in 2017 Mi’pu’mi Games comes full circle returning to GDC with several awards on our belt and the ongoing positive support from all our players. This year we bring along a playable version of Episode 3: Derivation for PC and for the very first time on international markets, an iOS (Beta) of Episode 1: Silence.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding Episode 3: Derivation coming very soon. The next episode of The Lion’s Song centers on Viennese mathematician Emma, whose academic brilliancy was not received enthusiastically in the male-dominant science world of the early 20th century.
In case you are attending, we wish you all a great and successful GDC. If you are interested meeting with Mi’pu’mi on short notice and to get hands on with “The Lion’s Song” please get in touch.
Yours,
Mi’pu’mi Games
