Patch 0.1.42

As we are preparing to entering Early Access, we have created yet another patch for you to try out! We have made quite a few changes, and some of the highlights are: Food Updates We have removed food from vendors, so food from cooking and gathering is now the main source for health and mana. Enemies will now drop various raw meats that may be cooked either on their own for health, or by adding ingredients for mana. We have also added additional fruit stations around the world which provides health and mana when gathered, and they require various cooking levels to loot. Dungeon Adjustments We have added a new dungeon, Brimstone Caverns, which requires level 55+ to enter. We have also added fog of war to crimson dungeon and rare enemies to each cave that will sometimes spawn. Armor Sets We have created some additional armor sets; rare leather, rare cloth, epic cloth and legendary mail. Crafting Crafting Materials can now gain +quality, and when using materials with +quality on them you have a better chance of yielding higher stats results on the item you are making. Crafter items with +quality also gets a higher item level now. See the full list of new features, adjustments and bug fixes below.

Changes


  • All NPCs now have random dialogue assigned to them in preparation to quests.
  • Added child NPCs.
  • Added Object Tooltip to house walls so you can hover them to see what type of house it is.
  • Removed food from vendors.
  • Created more food loot stations in the world.
  • Enemies now drop various raw meat that can be cooked for Health or Mana.
  • You can now see how many players you have killed, and what your total amount of deaths are.
  • Scroll of Alpha Testing now gives level 25 in all trade skills as well.
  • There is now an option to show your own name tag.
  • A player with full inventory can now trade with another player, as long as the end result does not mean they have more than a full inventory.
  • Damage AoE circles are now red.
  • Prices of 40% mounts lowered to 5000 gold.
  • Added level 10 mount in Seven Oaks, that gives 20% speed increase, for 2000 gold.
  • You can no longer send mails to players you are ignoring, or who are ignoring you.
  • Clicking on a trade skill station opens up the corresponding trade skill.
  • Adjusted casting bar timer position
  • Enchanted Arrow is no longer a projectile item.
  • There is now an arrow that shows your direction your player is facing on the minimap and the world map.
  • It is now shown in group chat when you loot something from a chest.
  • Increased the amount of blooms to be equal to mining nodes.
  • Made blooms easier to spot by increasing their size and using a few better models.
  • Added timestamp option for chat.
  • Rares should no longer spawn in the same order al lthe time.
  • Removed guards from safe zones, and instead made skulled players attackable in them, to avoid locking skulled players out of those areas.
  • Increased drop rates for alchemy materials that drop from enemies.
  • Players can no longer attack guards or flight mounts.
  • New players now get a welcome letter to their mailbox.
  • The heads of players were made 10% smaller.
  • Removed arrow requirement for bows, but arrows give additional damage compared to shooting without arrows. Because of this, arrows are now dropped on death.
  • Made sheep and boar icons on the minimap a little smaller.
  • Added sound effect for learning a recipe.
  • Reduced health gained from Defense to 3 (down from 7).
  • Added extra flavour text to an item quality depending on how good the quality of the item is.
  • The possible equipment stat rolls are now closer together than they previously were.
  • Enemies below levvel 3 now have 1/3 of their previous health, and 4-5 have 1/2 of their previous health.
  • Friend list is now sorted by online friends first.
  • Color of damage text done by local client is now white.
  • Added batch crafting for arrows.
  • Removed +Vitality on 1H axes and +Vitality on 2H swords.
  • It now says "Offline" instead of "N/A" in the group gui.
  • Adjusted name of Crackle Dagger to Crackle Axe (as it was actually an Axe and not a Dagger).
  • There is now a server announcement when a player kills a world boss.
  • Bosses no longer spawn immediately when server starts.
  • Enemies now have a max level in each dungeon.
  • Dungeons can now apply status effects when entering.
  • If you leave the group while in a dungeon, you will be teleported out after a while.
  • Players can no longer send group invites in dungeons.
  • Crafting Materials can now have +quality.
  • Crafted Equipment item with +quality gets a higher level
  • Using Materials that have +quality on them will yield better stat results.
  • Added Legendary Mail Set.
  • Added Rare Leather Set.
  • Added Epic Cloth Set.
  • Added Rare Cloth Set.
  • Added Leaf Umbrella.
  • Added Samurai Helm.
  • Added Japanese Masks.

  • Lowered quality of a couple globally dropped potions (changed during last alpha).
  • Disabled respawning of mobs inside dungeons (changed during last alpha).
  • Disabled respawning of chests inside dungeons (changed during last alpha).
  • It is now possible to sit down while moving (changed during last alpha).
  • Improved performance when switching chat tabs with lots of text (changed during last alpha).
  • Adjusted aggressive types on enemies within Shadehallow Cemetery (changed during last alpha).
  • Tier2 Trade skill recipes now cost 1/4 its previous price (changed during last alpha).
  • Made it more clear what the tool bonus is for in the trade skills window (changed during last alpha).

Bugfixes


  • If an enemy loses its target for some reason, it no longer get stuck.
  • Walls should no longer overlap in Crimson Catacombs.
  • Spell buffs no longer display the Miss combat text when applied.
  • Fixed issue where if you unequip an item from your real slot that uses the same model as your equipped vanity slot, it would hide the item model.
  • Grass should no longer turn black.
  • Vendor Item scroll bar is now only shown when the list is large enough to require a scroll bar.
  • You can no longer cast spells during the sitting/standing animation.
  • The guild banker no longer talks every time you move things around in the bank.
  • Recipe items for materials no longer list Accuracy as a random attribute chance.
  • You can now heal players by clicking the group ui again.
  • / now works again.
  • Max damage on offhand weapons can no longer be lower than the Min damage amount.
  • Channeling spells no longer counts up instead of down on their timer.
  • NPCs/Enemies that doesn't move around will now return to their spawn position when out of combat.
  • Crafting something in leather working and carpentry will no longer make the alchemy sound.
  • Rare enemies and Boss enemies are now properly shown on the minimap.
  • Fixed a typo on the Wisp Color GUI.
  • Player crit chance was calculated incorrectly.
  • The world map will no longer open if you are in a dungeon and click the "open map" icon.
  • Guild activity window will now show the proper time when auditing.
  • Fixed a fence in Seven Oaks that acted strangely.
  • You can no longer rotate the camera left and right when writing a letter.
  • Fixed issue with crafting attempts sometimes playing the failed SFX even when you succeed (fixed during last alpha).
  • Fixed issue with status effect effects not being removed properly (fixed during last alpha).
  • Fixed logout button (fixed during last alpha).
  • Fixed quit button on Title menu (fixed during last alpha).
  • Fixed a crafting issue with making quality attempts below 10% progress (fixed during last alpha).

Tale of Toast is am open world MMORPG, with its core gameplay being inspired with what made old school MMORPGs endlessly fun and engaging. With its easy to pick up play style, and its high focus on ensuring social aspects, tactical combat, trade skills, procedurally generated dungeons, and quality quests, the game is sure to have something for everyone.

Engaging combat with risks and rewards
Experience battles throughout the world against enemies, bosses, players or by taking part of large scale guild wars. Will you be a villain killing innocent players for their inventory, or will you lead a posse to take out the villains for their equipment and inventory?
The various zones have different restrictions put on them with regards to PvP, and you can always take part in a duel, or fight without risk inside the PvP Arenas.

Classes
Tired of being told what you can and cannot do with your character? In ToT you do not choose a class for your character, you yourself decide what type of character you create. Perhaps you will have a pure melee warrior, or hybrid mage and ranger?

Trade Skills
You may take up a wide range of trade skills such as Mining, Woodcutting, Botany, Fishing, Blacksmithing, Carpentry, Leatherworking, Paring, Cooking, and Alchemy. The number of trade skills you take on is completely up to you. Will you become a generalist or specialise in a specific skill?

Dungeons
With both world dungeons that all players on the realm can enter, as well as instanced group instanced, everyone can do their preferred dungeon. Dungeons scale to the people who are inside, and dungeons are procedurally generated to ensure that each time you enter the same dungeon you will get a unique experience.

Quests
With high focus on quality before quantity, you will not find hundreds of quests that tells you to kill certain monsters, but instead you will find epic quests chains that unlock special features and locations for your character.

World
In the land of Astaria, you will find an open world taking place in a single zone with towns, capitals, forests, fields, summer areas, winter areas, desert areas, volcanoes, mines, and dungeons for you to explore in a dynamic day and night system with weather on top.

Free-to-Play
The game is free-to-play, and offers micro transactions for things such as cosmetic items, pets, guild features, character renames and realm transfers. We hade made a strong point to not have Pay-to-Win features available, so you cannot pay to gain an advantage over somebody in combat.
