  • Tale of Toast Linux 64 [3.27 G]
Patch 0.1.44

Halloween arrived early to the land of Astaria, which means there are temporary changes in scenery in some of the areas around the world! Some of the things we have changed, based on your feedback, are that we've given back some xp to trade skills, and we have also made it a bit smoother to progress from Florin Forest to Lake Nora. We hope you will enjoy testing the game tomorrow (which starts at 00:00 PST / 03:00 EST / 07:00 UTC / 09:00 CEST Friday the 20th of October), and as always we appreciate your feedback and bug reports! :) Feel free to head over to our Discord, if you want to have a chat with some of the Alpha testers: https://discord.gg/taleoftoast

Changes

  • Halloween decorations.
  • There is now an Emote menu you can use to do emotes. You can still use emotes in the chat box too (type /emotes for a list).
  • Added unique wooden log icons for each type of wood.
  • Epic recipes for all types of armor (Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate) can now all be found in all the dungeons.
  • Alchemy items should now drop more frequently (let us know if you have issues with any of the alchemy drops, and we will look at them).
  • Added unique sounds for Gathering and Woodcutting.
  • All guards now have names.
  • Levels below level 6 can now reset their skills and stats by pressing on the Reset button in the skills/stats interfaces. Those above level 6 can still use the scroll of rebirth from the Crumbs shop (nothing is charged during alpha when purchasing anything from the Crumbs shop).
  • You can now select to always show system time.
  • Improved Clock (AM/PM for 12h clocks, and fix for showing single minutes properly).
  • Added fireworks that can be obtained from the Crumbs shop.
  • Adjusted enemy levels in South Highland Moor to make the level progression better from Florin Forest -> South Highland Moor -> Lake Nora.
  • If you try to mount while running, the player will now stop and attempt to mount.
  • Pets will now adjust their speed depending on if you're walking or running.
  • Adjusted some node locations in Amir Desert.
  • Magic food you can gather in the world (such as magic cabbage) now have a different icon from regular food.
  • Dressing Room and Equipment cameras are now disabled when not in use to increase some performance.
  • Adjusted Lightning Bolt cast time from 4s to 2.5s.
  • You can now press TAB to switch between world chat, chat, trade, etc.
  • You can now type a channel and press enter to swap to it (for example /world) instead of having to press space after typing it.
  • Decreased the amount of gold in chests.
  • Mailboxes no longer close when having sent a letter.
  • Increased the hitbox around the flowers that your mouse interacts with to show you're hovering over a flower.
  • The slash effect is now shown when doing a critical hit, instead of just randomly.
  • Added tradeskills checkbox for 'Use high quality materials' that determines if +materials are used for the craft or not.
  • Increased rare mat requirements on rare leaf armor set
  • Increased xp gain on crafting.
  • Vanity items no longer shows the "If Equipped" window when hovering over them, as they do not affect stats.
  • Added a banker to Clearwolf.
  • Renamed "Texture Quality" to "Quality" in graphical settings, to better reflect that it does more than just changing the texture quality (implemented during last alpha).
  • Adjusted some Crafting Material to be Uncommon instead of Rare (implemented during last alpha).
  • Removed Quality option from Projectiles and Spawner crafts (implemented during last alpha).

  • Fixed issue with the colors of the timestamp becoming the wrong color.

  • Whirlwind will no longer damage your party members.
  • Friend list is now cleared properly when switching characters.
  • Fixed issue with mailing items with a prefix.
  • Fixed issue with being unable to create a guild.
  • Fixed loading screens that had strange aspect ratios, resulting in strange looking images.

Tale of Toast is am open world MMORPG, with its core gameplay being inspired with what made old school MMORPGs endlessly fun and engaging. With its easy to pick up play style, and its high focus on ensuring social aspects, tactical combat, trade skills, procedurally generated dungeons, and quality quests, the game is sure to have something for everyone.

Engaging combat with risks and rewards
Experience battles throughout the world against enemies, bosses, players or by taking part of large scale guild wars. Will you be a villain killing innocent players for their inventory, or will you lead a posse to take out the villains for their equipment and inventory?
The various zones have different restrictions put on them with regards to PvP, and you can always take part in a duel, or fight without risk inside the PvP Arenas.

Classes
Tired of being told what you can and cannot do with your character? In ToT you do not choose a class for your character, you yourself decide what type of character you create. Perhaps you will have a pure melee warrior, or hybrid mage and ranger?

Trade Skills
You may take up a wide range of trade skills such as Mining, Woodcutting, Botany, Fishing, Blacksmithing, Carpentry, Leatherworking, Paring, Cooking, and Alchemy. The number of trade skills you take on is completely up to you. Will you become a generalist or specialise in a specific skill?

Dungeons
With both world dungeons that all players on the realm can enter, as well as instanced group instanced, everyone can do their preferred dungeon. Dungeons scale to the people who are inside, and dungeons are procedurally generated to ensure that each time you enter the same dungeon you will get a unique experience.

Quests
With high focus on quality before quantity, you will not find hundreds of quests that tells you to kill certain monsters, but instead you will find epic quests chains that unlock special features and locations for your character.

World
In the land of Astaria, you will find an open world taking place in a single zone with towns, capitals, forests, fields, summer areas, winter areas, desert areas, volcanoes, mines, and dungeons for you to explore in a dynamic day and night system with weather on top.

Free-to-Play
The game is free-to-play, and offers micro transactions for things such as cosmetic items, pets, guild features, character renames and realm transfers. We hade made a strong point to not have Pay-to-Win features available, so you cannot pay to gain an advantage over somebody in combat.
