Two genres for one theme
It's a very requested feature and has been for a long time. I have the pleasure to announce you that it is possible to make a post-apocalyptic Simulation/Strategy game. In order to add this feature, I had to change the interface of the game. Thanks to what I learned during the last years, the interface is cleaner, more instinctive and moreover, it's pretty.
Combining two genres means that you can try new genres even though you've never made a contract. Let's say you're an expert in Adventure games, and you're not an expert in Strategy games. When you make an Adventure/Strategy game, you are going to use both your Adventure and Strategy game expertise. Once the game is released, the game report gives you more information about both genres individually. I think this is the best solution, because you don't have to make contracts or bad games to learn how to make a new game genre, you can now combine genres. It's less risky, and it pays more.
Revamped and revised. It's as simple as that. Not everything has changed, but a lot of it has already evolved for the better. I'm thinking of continuing to work on improving the interface to make the game flashy and beautiful.
To get a smooth, non-blurry interface. I had to rewrite part of the engine I use to make City Game Studio. I've made big changes to the engine in the past, and I still continue to add features that improve UI rendering.
In City Game Studio, when you own a part of a competitor, you may receive an email asking you to sell your shares. The selling price is attractive, and should encourage you to sell. However, if you want to prevent a sale from occurring, all you have to do is buying enough shares of a competitor so that a competitor can't buy it back. And in this case, if you refuse to sell, you are fined a huge amount. Now, you don't have to pay fines, only threats.
In addition to these changes, when a unique genre is unlocked, the genre logo appears in the email. This is a bit more glamorous than a simple sentence.
This interface that allows you to buy new offices has been completely redone. You can now filter by purchase price, rental price, by square footage, and additionally sort by price or square footage. Honestly, this feature took me longer than expected, but the final result is just wonderful. The world leaderboard has been slightly revised. The calculation that determines your score has been changed. Making a console gives you more points than before, and once the City Game Studio leaderboard appears a sentence tells you if you are in the top 1% of players. It adjusts according to your position in the leaderboard of course.
In short, I had a lot of fun working on this new version of City Game Studio, and many of you sent me feedback. All this to say that even if I don't always answer everyone, because I don't have enough time, I read you, and I take note of all your comments. Your suggestions are relevant, some are more detailed than others. Your enthusiasm motivates me to continue the development of City Game Studio years after its early access release. Thank you all for helping me. And we'll see you soon for the upcoming version. Xavier aka Binogure

City Game Studio is a sandbox type management game.
January 1975, you have created your video game company. You are renting a tight place that allows you to develop your first game. Quickly, your games are successful and you already have to move, but it is up to you to cross the city to pick up your next local. In the blink of an eye you are hiring artists to improve the visual aspect of your games. Next came developers and then testers. But a problem remains, even if your games are brilliants, you don't have enough fans to self-publish a big game to make your studio profitable. You will have to turn to video game editors who will carve out the lion's share. Combinating successes is the only way of getting rid of the publishers. Furthermore you will be able to publish your own publishing contracts. Then you will then be ready to dominate the market and buy back your competitors.
Maps and studios are procedurally generated. Combined with random events and customizable studios, you will rediscover the game with each new game.
Browse the cities and choose the location of your next studio. As my uncle said "we do not hire new talents with vinegar !"
Everyone is not a studio designer, yet every piece of furniture has its place in your studio, and can have an influence on the history of your company.
Each game is unique, but over time new generations of consoles come out. You cannot create a bestseller alone. You have to hire new talents that will help you creating the perfect game
The development of the game is broadcast on twitch using the channel binogure.
