Thanks to your ongoing support, we're proud to present the Transcontinental Content Update [Version 1.2] for Railway Empire! After you've downloaded the new update from Steam, you'll be able to enjoy the following features:
New Transcontinental North America Map
- Playable in Free & Sandbox Mode
- Build your railway empire from coast to coast
New Centennial Era
- Expand your empire over 100 years from 1830 to 1930
- Research and develop all available locomotives in a single game
- New and specifically balanced tech tree spanning 100 years of scientific progress
- Dynamically growing markets introducing new goods and commodities over time
Improvements and Tweaks
- Added: Demolishing tracks and stations now gives a refund
- Added: Hotkey "C" to center camera on selected train
- Added: Game speed can be modified at any time in options menu
- Added: Town list overview
- Added: New wheel menu layout for gamepad mode
- Added: New GUI elements and icons for construction mode and train status window

In Railway Empire, you will create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network, purchase over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, and buy or build railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You’ll also need to hire and manage your workforce if you want to ensure an efficient train service, whilst also develop over 300 technologies ranging from mechanical improvements to the trains themselves to workplace infrastructures and advanced amenities as you progress through five eras of technological innovations.

However, you can’t just build and research your way to the top – the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track you’ll have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To get to the top you may have to resort to more cutthroat tactics as you attack and sabotage your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.
