Update 1.10.0 is live!

Hey everyone!

Update 1.10.0 is now live!

This update features a revamped difficulty for the Story, a new backup system for your saves, improved Anomalies, a tier skip for the Endless Anomalies, some new Transmutation recipes - and much more!

Originally I was planning even more things for this update, however I decided to split it into two, so expect another update of similar size some time later. Planned features for the next update include build balance/buffs, and unlockable character skins!

1.10.0:
Anomalies:


  • Added a tier skip feature to Endless tiers, where you can spend crystals to enter a special Endless Dungeon Anomaly that advances you 3 tiers when completed, but boots you if you die.
  • Added some more Anomaly boss fight rooms.
  • Improved Anomaly boss intros (they are now skipable).
  • Added a new Crater anomaly layout that is smaller and has more variation.
  • Added a new Forest layout for anomalies.
  • Gave the Space Forest anomalies a new base layout.
  • Removed the "Lushlands" layout from the Space Forest tileset because the water and ground were too similar.
  • Removed the pointy dead ends of Hellfort anomalies.

Backup system:

  • Added an automatic backup system that now keeps up to 2 rolling backups of all your characters, stash, progression, etc. files.
  • This system automatically checks for save failures and corruptions, and will automatically restore backups if any problem is found.

Difficulty & Mechanics:

  • Added some experimental anti-snapshot changes, destroying any active spell when changing equipment.
  • Adjusted damage scaling of non-boss enemy attacks granted via random affixes.
  • Added a slight delay to Eruption and Poison Bomb enemy affixes.
  • Increased movement speed of all enemies.
  • Increased enemy damage scaling on Epic and Legendary difficulties.
  • Increased enemy health scaling from Heroic to Mythic 2.
  • Increased base movement speed of players by 25%.
  • Movement speed enchants lowered accordingly to give approx the same theoretical max speed.
  • Staggered damage now has a base 30% damage reduction to the staggered ticks (the effect that previously was on Balgar's Binding).
  • Changed how enchant values are rolled on items - they are no longer weighted towards the max roll, and are now more evenly spread between min and max.
  • Tweaked the growth of Bonus Crystals stat and the Memory Essence rewards in the Endless Anomalies.
  • Anomaly bosses should now be recognized as bosses for effects such as Mantle of The Dragonkin.
  • Increased Dummy health so maybe you guys don't explode them.
  • Increased maximum buff stacks of infinite stacking buffs (most would cap at 9.9k stacks before, I assumed no one would have the patience to reach that - I was wrong)
  • Removed ultimate skill player skin changes, in preparation for a new permanent skin system - coming soon. (unlockable skins!)
  • Removed item Power stat (was misleading).
  • Shady Dealer no longer sells unlimited amounts of boxes, but are more likely to have boxes in stock.

Hardcore:

  • Graveyard graves now show the Endless Tier reached on dead heroes (that died after this update).

Transmutation:

    Added new Transmutation recipes:

    • Destroy Rune
    • Destroy Prismatic Socket
    • Random True Legendary
    • Random Lesser Rune

  • More Transmutation recipes are now known from the start, making it easier to figure out how Transmutation works.
  • Transmutation no longer automatically fails when an item marked as Favorite is involved, but will now fail when *equipment* marked as Favorite is *consumed* in the transmutation.
  • Transmutation will now tell you if it fails because of a Favorited item.

Items & Skills:

    General:

    • Added a new Major enchant: Increased Healing from all sources. Can be rolled on Helmet, Armor, and Boots.
    • Added new item: Heart of The Community, granted to all new characters.
    • Added new item: Cosmic Cape (TL accessory): Turns x% of Mana into Damage.
    • Added two new rare crafting materials: Runelord's Remorse and Prismatic Liquid.
    • Indirect Chain Lightning on hit enchants/gems now have a 25% trigger rate, up from 15%.
    • Jeopardy (TL Ring) no longer has an ICD, but is limited to 1 stack per frame.
    • Tome of Knowledge is now called Chronicle of Knowledge to not be confused for a Tome (off-hand item).
    • Advancing Army buffed to 330/430 A/GA to compensate lowered movement speed enchant values.
    • Battle Boots and Lesser Rune of Lethal Mobility now trigger before other effects, letting them interact with skill-specific effects, such as Lesser Rune of Acrobatic Barrage.
    • Mightcap now also increases the strength of all Ultimate skills.
    • Balgar's Binding no longer reduces damage taken from staggered damage, and increases damage by up to 25% of held Staggered Damage (buffed from 20%).

    Templar:

    • Divine Link (ring) now increases healing from all sources by up to 200% (GA).
    • Thorn Orbs mastery is now affected by Satellite Strength.
    • Purged Through Holy Flames (synergy skill) is now affected by mastery proc rate increment passives.

    Berserker:

    • Lesser Rune of The Blue Bolt now also affects Hop.
    • Molten Medallion now adds damage per 22 MPR, up from per 33 MPR.
    • Cooling Off is now affected by the Blizzards Mastery (+Frost Winds Proc Rate).
    • Earth and Sky and Dragon's Might (synergy skills) are now affected by mastery proc rate increment passives.
    • Berserker synergy passives no longer chain together.
    • Increased the Hitbox size for Thunder Punch.
    • Increased range of Lightning Fist to 5.5/6/6.5/7/7.5, was 5.3/5.6/5.9/6.2/6.5 meters. Also increased projectile speed.
    • Dragmageddon is no longer a Sentry skill.

    Warden:

    • Life Link now heals for 1% of max HP per hit.
    • Volley no longer have diminishing returns on damage.
    • Storm Mender use effect is now affected by Companion Passive and Use Effect stat.

    Warlock:

    • The Masochist 2p bonus is now reflected in tooltips and interact with bonuses towards the affected skills properly (such as Bone Skill Damage).
    • Icecrown satellite spears now target the player's target.
    • The Bone Spear (staff) is now reflected in tooltips and interact with bonuses towards Bone Spear properly (such as Bone Skill Damage).
    • Reduced the effect of Death Knight (ulti) to 20%, down from 30%.
    • Ruin will now deal damage correctly within the listed range on the tooltip.


General QoL stuff:

  • You can now change difficulty by talking to Tinka.
  • Items now use silver stars to reflect if their base stats are at max value for their rarity, and gold stars if they are at max possible value (TL and/or empowered to max).
  • Navigating the waypoint with a gamepad now wraps around, so you can go upwards to get to the bottom quick.
  • Rare loot effects (shines) are now always drawn on top, showing the items clearly when behind walls and such.
  • Clarified some item, rune, and enchant descriptions.
  • Ancient Sickle (Halloween Event quest item) is now Unique, so it appears on your map when dropped.

Interface:

  • Added support for Japanese community translations. (Please let me know if there are problems presenting the text or if something is missing!)
  • Added a small tutorial when opening the endgame interface for the first time.
  • Added map cycle options to the interface menu (all on by default).
  • Added more "short number" letters so it doesn't break when you pass Q.
  • Stat page (not the inventory quick reference) now also show uncapped values on resistances.
  • Minimap and area info is now transparent like the quest tracker.
  • Added a HUD clock (can be toggled on/off in interface settings).
  • Added a cursor color setting to interface settings.
  • Improved locale support by adding a "suffix only" mode for enemies and items, solving problems with gendered words for some languages.
  • Improved difficulty select menu (performance, text placement, added notice on being able to change later).
  • FPS display now scales with HUD scale.
  • Made several improvements to text handling, please let me know if you spot any oddities.

Performance:

  • Improved performance of HUD updates.
  • Improved performance of damage numbers displays and updates.
  • Improved performance of static light rendering like torches, lanterns, etc.
  • Experimental change to tile handling that may improve overall performance, mostly noticable on lower end hardware.
  • Improved texture handling.

Fixes:

  • Changed how the "Trapped!" quest works so it now spawns the Unique foe with the Zombies, and killing it is the trigger to complete the quest, event, and unlock the door. Should prevent future lockouts.
  • Fixed issue where changing language did not update fully until after a game restart.
  • Fixed Revert and Magnetic Lock not having damage listed on the tooltip.
  • Fixed issue where stash changes might not be saved if you quit to menu too fast after accessing the stash or if your character saves super fast following a stash access.
  • Fixed poor performance during new character creation.
  • Fixed some setting buttons being out of place and not in order when using controller.
  • Fixed issue where disconnecting a controller might not let you use the keyboard again.
  • Fixed issue where you could get softlocked if a controller disconnected when your character died.
  • Fixed some issues with "click-throughs" on menus with a controller.
  • Fixed weird crash from the endgame waypoint when using a controller.
  • Fixed some incorrect stat displays in stat page / inventory quick reference.
  • Fixed Fizzbang's mortars ignoring resistances (Act 5 boss 1).
  • Fixed bug where you could bind one controller to multiple players when starting local co-op.
  • Fixed crash if having too many auras in local co-op.
  • Fixed issue where Moving Prayer would not remove the applied stats after wearing off.
  • Fixed stairs down portals being rendered underneath ground effects from spells, making them hard to see.
  • Fixed early companion stat Mastery nodes not working for some classes.
  • Fixed issue with quest/achievement updates with NPC "Semmy" in Act 5.
  • Fixed quest overwrite issues when using characters with different progression in local co-op.
  • Fixed Lesser Rune of Blood Explosion stacking on itself.
  • Fixed being able to open Challenge Portals anywhere, leading to some weird problems and in some cases, crashes.
  • Fixed issue where co-op players' saves would in some cases be considered the "most recent" save and be set as the "continue as ..." for solo quick resume.
  • Fixed issue with some Highlands anomalies when using water or lava tiles in the mix.
  • Fixed crash on hitting (A) on empty equipment slot when in the transmutation alter with a controller.
  • Fixed incorrect interface updates when in Gemma's interface with a controller.
  • Fixed some inconsistent stat rounding on the interface.
  • Fixed multiple missing ds errors/crashes.
  • Fixed some issues with buying 10x and 100x items with keyboard & mouse.
  • Fixed issue where spell scroll/codex might use the wrong rank spell.
  • Possible fix for Wings of Sziirk dropping you inside walls sometimes.
