Stone Story is an RPG set in a dark and vile world. The game's fluid ascii art is painstakingly animated in plain text by a single insane game developer. The game has been in development since 2014 and is presently in closed beta testing. It features 8 locations to explore, 8 boss fights, mind-blowing ascii cutscenes and plenty of loot to discover.

The casual play contrasts with the retro visuals, providing a unique experience that blends nostalgia with modern design principles. One of the game's defining mechanics is that you have no direct control of the player character. You choose what items to equip, which location to visit and relax while an artificial intelligence does all the exploring, combat and looting. That doesn't mean this is an idle game. Potions and special abilities are maximized by good timing. Boss fights are intense and can keep you at the edge of your seat, requiring quick item swaps if the boss changes patterns. Additionally, an item crafting system allows you to combine otherwise disposable items--rewarding experimentation, giving you interesting choices and making full use of all the gathered loot.

Initial language support is English, Portuguese and Chinese. Further localization will be added based on regional demand.

Starting off with a bang, were finally ready to announce that Part 2 of Stone Story is coming soon! Titled Stone Story Ascension, this ambitious project kicks off with a massive promotion and Kickstarter campaign.
But thats not all! Its been a year since the last StoneJam and were happy to let you all know that the event returns on September 27, with StoneJam 8!
And last but not least, two strangely-related topics: We have news on the ambitious Once We Were Mitey Legend quest, and 3 new translations: Thai, Indonesian, and Italian.

SSRPG\'s Final Content
While the team is hard at work on Ascension, were still not done with the original game!
In the next update Stone Story RPG receives translations for Thai, Indonesian, and Italian. And soon we\'ll introduce the final piece of SSRPG: The Once We Were Mitey Legend quest. Embark on a perilous expedition through ice, experience a new movement mechanic and earn the Crusader Shield Lost item.
So how is a Legend quest related to new translations?
Once We Were Mitey is HUGE, designed with massive amounts of dialogue. This created a dilemma. Translating this quest to all 17 supported languages exceeds what\'s possible with our limited budget.
Between the options of cutting the quest or using inferior machine-translations, we decided that the best course of action is to make Once We Were Mitey a premium, $1 DLC purchase. This is a departure from our previous quest content, but we did not want to compromise on the quality of localization, continuing with the incredible work from the Warlocs team.
