Scrunk Roadmap
In this update we plan on introducing Leaderboards. We'll have a dedicated menu screen showing off your rank and other players' ranks as well as highlighting the top players. We'll also be addressing a number of other issues with the ranking system. Firstly, there's currently no penalty for leaving a match halfway through. Starting with this update, you will lose a fixed amount of ranking. Secondly, ranking feels too grindy. The 500-point difference between ranks is far too much and as such we'll be reducing this to 250 instead.
Games are better together. In this next update we're introducing a Party system. You'll be able to invite Steam friends and queue for/join servers together. As part of this update, we'll also be introducing hidden servers that can only be accessed if you have the IP address and ports. Hidden servers won't show up in the server browser and can't be quick matched into.
Before the sixth update to the game we'd like to take a minute to address some quality of life issues. First off, we'll be adding a way to report problematic players. This is essential before leaving early access. In the same vein, we'll be adding a visual indicator for the votekick system. You'll be able to see the ratio of Yes to No votes as well as (obviously) who's up for a votekick. Finally, you may notice that dying to fire doesn't award kill credit to the player who used the flamethrower that caused the fire that killed you. The same is true for explosives (landmines, rocket launchers). In this update we'll be adding ownership to blocks so that you can now get proper kill credit for block-related kills and for victims to see who they were killed by.
Next up is bots. We'll be adding player bots that'll do the three basic actions that most players do: scavenging, shooting and raiding. Player bots will fill in for players until their spots are replaced. This will lay the foundations for our 7th update.
This is the big one! We love Scrunk's PvE threats and would love to add more. That's why for the sixth update we're planning on introducing a boss enemy that'll be a threat to both teams. Expect explosions and team fights over what promises to be an incredible reward if you manage to destroy this enemy. Like the blast zones and airdrops, this will be a random event that will occur occasionally (perhaps only once per match).
To try and save on server costs we'll be closing down the EU and NAW servers. If demand increases for these servers, we're happy to bring them back up but more likely than not they won't be around until our exit from early access.
We're not exactly sure on the timeline for all these updates. We're a two man team (artist and programmer) and some of these patches will be bigger tasks than others. As such, we'll be sticking to a schedule of an update about every month. Update #3 may be slightly outside that schedule as I'm going on holiday for two weeks.

We've got quite a few plans for what we want Scrunk to look like before we leave early access. In this post we'll be detailing the 5 updates we currently have in mind.
Update #3
In this update we plan on introducing Leaderboards. We'll have a dedicated menu screen showing off your rank and other players' ranks as well as highlighting the top players. We'll also be addressing a number of other issues with the ranking system. Firstly, there's currently no penalty for leaving a match halfway through. Starting with this update, you will lose a fixed amount of ranking. Secondly, ranking feels too grindy. The 500-point difference between ranks is far too much and as such we'll be reducing this to 250 instead.
Update #4
Games are better together. In this next update we're introducing a Party system. You'll be able to invite Steam friends and queue for/join servers together. As part of this update, we'll also be introducing hidden servers that can only be accessed if you have the IP address and ports. Hidden servers won't show up in the server browser and can't be quick matched into.
Update #5
Before the sixth update to the game we'd like to take a minute to address some quality of life issues. First off, we'll be adding a way to report problematic players. This is essential before leaving early access. In the same vein, we'll be adding a visual indicator for the votekick system.
Update #6
Next up is bots. We'll be adding player bots that'll do the three basic actions that most players do: scavenging, shooting and raiding. Player bots will fill in for players until their spots are replaced. This will lay the foundations for our 7th update.
Update #7
This is the big one! We love Scrunk's PvE threats and would love to add more. That's why for the sixth update we're planning on introducing a boss enemy that'll be a threat to both teams. Expect explosions and team fights over what promises to be an incredible reward if you manage to destroy this enemy. Like the blast zones and airdrops, this will be a random event that will occur occasionally (perhaps only once per match).
A note on servers
To try and save on server costs we'll be closing down the EU and NAW servers. If demand increases for these servers, we're happy to bring them back up but more likely than not they won't be around until our exit from early access.

We're not exactly sure on the timeline for all these updates. We're a two man team (artist and programmer) and some of these patches will be bigger tasks than others. Scrunk is an online team-based building and raiding game. Fight off robots and infiltrate the enemy team's base while building up and defending your own.
Fortify your team's base with traps, walls, barbed wire and turrets to ensure your core block is protected at all times from incoming raiders.
Scavenge scrap from mechs and world events to craft explosives, bombs and guns to destroy the enemy's core block.
Dodge blast-zones or wait around to collect the scrap left behind. Fight off hordes of skitterers and shoot drones out of the sky to scavenge them for loot and scrap.
