One of the most popular requests we get is whether we can push out a "proper" build of Fighting Fantasy Classics on the Steam Deck. It's a great platform for handheld gaming, and seeing as the FF books were technically some of the very first on-the-go games for Gen Xers back in the 80s, it's a perfect fit.
We're currently adding in controller support as well as updating FFC's saving system to allow for multiple save slots per book. We're also adding in cloud saving, which is obviously super important for FF fans playing on their computer and Steam Deck. A new build will be pushed out in a couple of weeks and we'll then request deck verification from the Steam gods.
There will also be an announcement in the next few weeks about new FF titles coming to the library! If you follow the TMG channels on X or Discord, you may already have seen a few clues! warlockorc

Our 17th Fighting Fantasy gamebook has sailed into the Fighting Fantasy Classics library! The 66th book in the series, written by Ian Livingstone in 2017, is an instant classic as it transports you to some famous locations in Allansia where you may bump into a few familiar faces from FF lore.
This is a double celebration for us as we celebrate the start of Melbourne International Games Week. It's going to be a busy week away from the glare of our monitors, where we'll mingle with our games industry peers and celebrate the awesome games that have been created by Australian developers. Steam are hosting a special MIGW landing page containing a host of Victorian-made games, many of them on sale for the week, including all of our previous FF Classics DLC releases.
Tin Man Games also have a whole host of our games on sale, which coincides with Steam's Turn-Based RPG Fest too! Check them all out.

40 years ago an iconic book cover arrived on book shelves in the UK. Deathtrap Dungeon was a revelation and captivated young minds around the country. It was so successful it spawned two sequels, both written by Sir Ian Livingstone, called Trial of Champions and Armies of Death.
Today sees the release of the third book in that trilogy, and completes the epic Allansian adventure!
Can YOU defeat the nightmare army of the undead? warlockskeleton
Agglax the Shadow Demon is amassing an army of undead warriors to conquer Allansia.
Setting off from Fang with over two hundred veteran fighters, YOU journey east to meet the enemy. But the Shadow Demon is not of this world and special powers are needed to destroy him. The longer you spend searching for these powers the stronger he will be.

Armies of Death will be available next week in the FFC library, but we're not taking an arrow to the knee just yet, with the announcement that Ian Livingstone's more recent Allansian adventure, The Port of Peril, will be hot on its heels a few weeks later!
The Tin Minions are also busy working on another three Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, chosen from the vast range of the original FF collection. We're also signing licenses for more titles too, with some highly requested titles from the series planned for the future development. Not only that, but we have plans for a verified Steam Deck update. You can run FFC on the deck already, but there's a few things we need to incorporate to get the Steam green tick approval.
In other FF news, Fighting Fantasy Fest 5 is just around the corner, being held at the University of West London, in the UK! Tickets are still available - head over to FightingFantasy.com for more info.
For some of our Fighting Fantasy digital adaptations we need to commission new artwork. For Armies of Death we turned to long-time Tin Man Games collaborator, Joshua Wright, who has worked on a number of our games including the Gamebook Adventures series, Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.
Josh's unique artistic flair is a perfect match for the world of fantasy illustration, where his talent truly shines. His knack for creating eerie, monstrous designs brings to life the terrifying creatures you will encounter and battle in Allansia. We're thrilled to take you behind the scenes and showcase some of Josh's early pencil sketches for Armies of Death. These sketches provide a glimpse into the evolution of his creative process, from initial concepts to the stunning final versions!
Ian Livingstone's Armies of Death will be joining the Fighting Fantasy Classics library very soon!

Not only that, but we'll be announcing our exciting new releases later this year and giving away some treats over the coming months. Not only that, but we're looking for FF-mad beta testers. We'll see you in the Tin Man Games Community Discord! May your STAMINA never fail!
It's time to add a new addition to the Fighting Fantasy Classics library! This one may be familiar to fans of our digital gamebooks in the past, as we first adapted this as a standalone title nine years ago - where has that time gone?
This time round we've kept things more authentic to Steve Jackson's original 1985 paperback release, including all the powers and fights as they originally appeared, and maintaining the storylines to each of the four powers exactly as they flowed in the original adventure. Even though this has meant a complete re-coding of the gamebook, it's been great to revisit Titan City once again and join the wacky supervillains that are hell-bent on taking over the world!
We have included a few extras from our standalone version though, including a number of the villain portraits that were commissioned for that game, which you can collect as you defeat each of the enemies. There are also new hero portraits to choose from and a new comic book page layout. You'll also notice we've added a new soundtrack called "Superhero Swing", which captures that 90s Saturday morning superhero cartoon vibe!
So, if superheroes are your jam and you love gamebooks, then make sure to check out Appointment with FEAR!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2081031/Appointment_with_FEAR_Fighting_Fantasy_Classics/
P.S. We had a slight hiccup with our previous build due to some changes in a Unity update. If you had problems accessing your books, we're so sorry! We've now pushed out a new build that fixes that issue.
Tough, incorruptible champion of law and order, YOU are a SUPERHERO!
Using your superpowers, you protect the innocent citizens of teeming Titan City from the terrorism, violence, kidnapping and corruption of a host of super-villains. Your mission is to discover the location of the top-secret F.E.A.R. meeting, capture the Titanium Cyborg and his cohorts, and bring them to justice.
We've had a few requests to bring Steve Jackson's Appointment with FEAR over to Fighting Fantasy Classics, so we've re-coded the original gamebook from the ground-up and will add it to the library by the end of the year!
As you may already know, we developed another game based on the gamebook property back in 2014. While this new FFC version is strictly an almost 1-to-1 of the original paperback release, we have managed to bring across a few treats from that game. These include the addition of the original soundtrack (including the battle theme), all of the newly re-coloured artwork, and much of the supervillain artwork that was created solely for that release. We've also added a new page skin if you want the layout to have more of a comic book feel!
So grab your cape, take to the skies, and WISHLIST NOW!
P.S. We're still tweaking Armies of Death and will have more news on that in the new year, along with the announcement of another FFC addition. There's lots to look forward to!

One of three incoming additions to the Fighting Fantasy Classics library, we're incredibly excited to announce Armies of Death! In Ian Livingstone's sequel to Trial of the Champions (book 38 in the old Puffin run), you must raise an army using your newly won purse of 20,000 gold pieces. The gamebook uses a new combat system to allow your troops to fight against multiple opponents, as you take the battle to Agglax, an evil Shadow Demon!
As you will have noticed from the announcement art, we're incredibly honoured to have secured the rights to use the original cover artwork by Christos Achillos, who sadly passed away late last year. This is an iconic Fighting Fantasy illustration and one that many readers from 1988 will be familiar with.
Release date is yet to be decided, as we are creating new interior illustrations for the digital adaptation. We'll let you know as soon as we know more. Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements before the end of the year!
It's time to venture into another Fighting Fantasy gamebook! Tarrak Kazan, Oleander Redfly, Gretta Morg, Garanka Vassell and a mob of other highly-trained killers await you within the digital pages of Assassins of Allansia!
Are YOU tough enough to survive attacks by Allansia's most dangerous and deadly assassins?
After accepting a challenge to survive on Snake Island, a nightmare unfolds when a bounty is placed on your head. Beware the ruthless assassins hellbent on hunting you down - but who are they? Where are they? Trust no one...
Ian Livingstone's 2019 adventure is brought to life by amazing illustrations courtesy of Krisztin Balla (licensed from Chameleon Comix) and a suitably action-packed fantasy cover from Karl Kopinski. As with all our FF Classics releases, we have automated the dice-rolling combat, inventory and turn to logic choices on the pages.
We'll also be announcing some new additions to the library very soon. Watch this Steam-space!

If you're a fan of adventures in the fantasy land of Allansia, you're in for a treat! Ian Livingstone designed and wrote a new gamebook back in 2019 that was almost a nostalgic love-letter to fans of his previous outings, such as Deathtrap Dungeon and The Forest of Doom. In fact some see Assassins of Allansia as sequel to City of Thieves, as the hero is "said have killed Zanbar Bone". We'll let you come to your own conclusions in just a couple of weeks, when the digital gamebook appears magically on the Fighting Fantasy Classics bookshelves.

Life is lawless and dangerous. Survivors like you either live in scattered, fortified towns, or roam outside as bandits. YOUR mission is to cross the wilderness to the far-distant oil-refinery at San Anglo and bring vital supplies back to the peaceful town of New Hope. Even in the armed Dodge Interceptor you are given, the journey will be wild and perilous. Will YOU survive?
Freeway Fighter has an extended combat system and new rules to wrestle with. All you need is your two digital dice, some fuel canisters and a little bit of LUCK. YOU decide which way to go, which weapons to use and which dangers to risk!"
Many FF fans around the world will remember when the 13th Fighting Fantasy title dropped on to shop and library shelves in 1985. They were blown away by Jim Burns' iconic cover artwork that captured Ian Livingstone's stylish, dystopian future.
You can now join them by adding Freeway Fighter to your Fighting Fantasy Classics library NOW!

WISHLIST Ian Livingstone's classic gamebook now!
Fightasy Fantasy gamebooks have been published a number of times over the decades by different book publishers. This lead to some of the titles having new artwork commissioned in later publications by Wizard Books or Scholastic due to licensing constraints or simply to fit in with the times.
When adding a new title into Fighting Fantasy Classics we like to try and match the artwork as close as possible to the original 80s Puffin green-spine release. This isn't always possible for a number of reasons, but we're super excited to announce that we have secured the rights to use Jim Burns' original Freeway Fighter artwork!
Many FF fans around the world will remember when the 13th Fighting Fantasy title dropped on to shop and library shelves in 1985. They were blown away by Jim's iconic cover artwork that captured a stylish Mad Max-style dystopian future.
"A Fighting Fantasy adventure story with fighting cars!"
In just a few weeks you'll be able to once again race Ian Livingstone's armour-plated Dodge Interceptor across an alternate 2022 future, as you attempt to reach San Anglo to secure vital supplies for your settlement at New Hope! You'll face-off against dune buggies, helicopters, motorbikes, and even an E-Type Jaguar. Start your engines...
In 2022 the world's population was virtually wiped out by a lethal germ. YOU are one of the few survivors living in the fortified town of New Hope. Outside roam the lawless new barbarians - death and destruction is their way of life.
Sound familiar? That's because it's the back cover blurb of Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy gamebook, Freeway Fighter, originally published as a paperback in 1985. YOU (or at least other FF fans like you) have decided that this should be the next title to appear in the Fighting Fantasy Classics library!
We ran a Twitter poll through our @TinManGames account with 117 FF fans choosing the next adventure. As you can see the results were pretty one-sided, with 54.7% of respondents gunning for Ian's post-apocalyptic Mad Max inspired adventure gamebook.
Thankfully that was one of the titles we were working on, so expect to hop into your armour-plated Interceptor and fire off a few rockets in a few months.
Please let us know which Fighting Fantasy titles you would like to see added to the Classics library! There's been a surge of interest again since we released Creature of Havoc and Temple of Terror, so expect to see a few more additions this year!
Hi there adventurers! For some time now we've been receiving bugs relating to book covers not appearing, bookshelves being empty and in a few cases the game not loading at all. While we've been able to fix these in most cases as they appear, they have been symptoms of a larger problem with the way we loaded books and illustration artwork. Therefore we decided to completely overhaul our book loading system, which should not only completely solve these problems, but will ensure we can more easily and cleanly add new books in the future. As all of these changes are under the hood, you shouldn't notice any changes to your Fighting Fantasy Classics experience. However as with any software development updates, despite thorough testing, new issues may arise. We're pretty sure this shouldn't be the case, but if you experience any bugs please let us know at minion (at) tinmangames (dot) com (dot) au or post a new discussion thread in the forum. May your STAMINA never fail! The Tin Man Games team

We know that it was the gateway into fantasy worlds and gaming for many of you out there, and we're chuffed to be the ones giving Fighting Fantasy's classic titles of the 80s and 90s a new home in your Steam library.
If you wish to try-before-you-buy, all players have access to the full-length swashbuckling pirate gamebook Bloodbones for FREE! Bloodbones sees you take on the role of a traveller intent on their quest to track down and defeat the dread Pirate Lord Cinnabar who has been inflicting a reign of terror on the populace for years!
The eight titles currently available in Fighting Fantasy Classics are just the beginning for the library. We plan to continue delivering as many classic gamebook adaptations to you as we can.
As long as the support is there, we want to keep releasing, so please spread the word to help bring more classic titles to life. We'd love if you could vist the Community Hub and let us know which books you'd most like to see adapted next, and what features are important to you moving forward. We'll be listening!
We hope you enjoy your adventures in Allansia and the greater Fighting Fantasy universe.
Best of luck, traveller.
Hello adventurers,
There's less than 48 hours left until the release of Fighting Fantasy Classics! Before long you can return to the fabled realm of Allansia and explore the many stories it has to offer.
The game will be a free-to-play download for all Steam users, with every player receiving one full-length gamebook for free with their download - the swashbuckling pirate adventure Bloodbones!
Bloodbones sees you take on the role of a traveler seeking vengeance against the powerful Pirate Lord Cinnabar. The dread Captain raided your village and murdered your family many moons ago, and YOU have journeyed to the Port of Crabs to hunt him down and have your revenge.
The original gamebook is notorious for being the "lost" Fighting Fantasy title and although it was written during the books' Puffin paperback run of the 1980s and 90s, it wasn't published until 2006 by Wizard Books. Now, Bloodbones makes a triumphant return as part of our Classics library.
We’ll have seven other classic Fighting Fantasy gamebooks available for purchase at launch, including Warlock of Firetop Mountain, Deathtrap Dungeon and Citadel of Chaos.
Stay tuned for more news and updates on all things Fighting Fantasy.
Until then, may your LUCK prosper and your STAMINA never fail!
