Welcome again, fellow warriors!
This update brings a few improvements that fix one of the most important unconveniences with the game: Having to repeat arenas when traversing already complete zones.
We've been thinking about possible solutions to this (didn't want to remove the enemies alltogether once you clear an arena), and we finally decided to do the following: Once you clear an arena, next time it will still spawn a few enemies (usually 2-4 of them), but the area won't be locked anymore.
This means the game has become a little easier and shorter (no need to repeat all the previous arenas), but it should be a better experience overall.
Not every arena have this feature, but all the ones that are in the main path have it.
Gameplay changes
- Cleared arenas in the main path do not lock the player in posterior attempts.
- Spearmen charge attack in Thebes/Palace is no longer unblockable.
- You now get a 25% stamina boost when performing a successful parry.

First update since the game was released, so we're giving version number a reset :D.
This update fixes a few bugs and includes some performance improvements and gameplay changes, after feedback from the community.
By the way, we've posted some information on how to enable Photo Mode so you can get nice pictures. It's the same tool we used for the store screenshots, it's rather powerful so feel free to try around :) . Information here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/386080/discussions/1/364040166688595605/
New features:
- Added a teleport in the final area.
- Done some performance improvements that should improve framerate and loading times.
- Increased parry window for both light and heavy shields, now it should be a bit easier to perform them.
- Increased dodge window a bit when dodging in place or rolling forward.
- Receiving damage from an unblockable hit will now stun you.
- Reduced Lapis helmet defense from 50 to 30 (it was a bug).
- Reduced difficulty of the last combat in the palace (12 golems instead of 16)
- Increased difficulty of the final boss (around 15% more health, increased health of spawned golems, increased attack variety, increased damage of some attacks, increased a bit attack rate).
- Fixed Oannes' teleport not working properly (and not counting towards the achievement)
- Fixed not getting the proper ending.
- Fixed some sounds in cutscenes ignoring volume settings
- "Fixed" errors on Linux related to mouse button input (It's an engine issue, we just ignore those buttons now)

Today's update prepares the game for its release in a few hours. This update includes the fight with the final boss, and the 3 endings - we don't want to spoil them so go find them by yourselves :). We've also done lots of gameplay and difficulty improvements after our final testing sessions. Generally the game should be easier on some points where players could hit a difficulty wall. New features:
- Enemy archers now have their own moveset
- Improved camera behavior when standing still.
- Finished spanish translation
- Added number of deaths on the "Load Game" list.
- New sound / message when defeating a boss.
- Enemies before the War Golem are now a bit easier.
- Oannes: Reduced damage a bit
- You can now attack/block earlier after a dodge.
- Several balance changes in the Palace area.
- Increased Penamun difficulty
- Increased Death Experience Penalty (you still can recover it if you get back to where you died).
- Fixed weapon attack speed changing parry speed as well.
- Fixed an issue with two chests on the Quarry
- Fixed an issue with some shortcuts showing "Closed" even when open.
Hello, fellow warriors! The time has come for Pharaonic to come out of Early Access!
So write down the date: April 28th (next Thursday). The game will be available for $16/16€/12GBP with a 15% launch discount, so now it's a good time to purchase the game before price is increased!
That day, we'll also release the update featuring the final boss and the ending cutscenes.
Meanwhile, today's update features some bugfixes and improvements, as well as NPC dialogues for the Palace area:
New features:
- Added NPC texts for the Palace area.
- Improved camera behavior on Thebes and the Palace
- Merchant Goods Quest: Now you're asked if you want to give the item to either NPC.
- Fixed some rings (such as extra canteen size) stacking effects when changing equipment.
- Fixed some NPC animations being faster than desired.
- Some text corrections.
This week's update is a big one, the main addition being new attack animations for dagger/thrust weapons and really heavy weapons (hammers, etc).
Moreover, we have finished doing the trading cards for the game and we've just enabled them. Not sure if your past playtime counts towards getting them, but anyway it's a good reason to give the game a try again :)
There're also lots of minor improvements and bugfixes, specially on the graphics postprocessing side, with improved ambient occlusion and bloom effects.
We hope to have most remaining lore by next week, as well as the final boss (which it's already finished, but we're waiting until we have the game ending cutscenes ready so you don't miss them!)
New features:
- New attack animations for thrust weapons (dagger, straight swords) and heavy weapons (hammers, big axes).
- Added Steam trading cards
- New achievements for the late part of the game (not all of them can be unlocked yet)
- Changed Ambient Occlusion effect (now it's stronger, giving the game a darker vibe).
- Improved Bloom effect, specially on High and Very High settings.
- Done some performance improvements, reducing CPU usage by up to 10%.
- Now it's slightly easier to perform parries. Also you can start your attack faster after performing a parry.
- Adjusted attack combos for some weapons so they are a bit faster and less sluggish.
- Done many weapon numbers adjustments to match the new animations.
- The list of teleport locations has been inverted (so later locations are shown on top).
- Fixed framerate drops when activating a Heka Stele
- Fixed area attacks being blockable / dodgeable when not intended.
- Fixed some voice issues.
- Fixed some arrow attacks causing damage when the shield is up.
- Fixed some text issues on the Character creation section.
- Fixed minor translation issues.
This week's update brings small but important improvements. Plenty of characters that you found during your journey do their appearance again in the City of Thebes, and you'll know what happened of them.
Have you tried Big Head mode yet? Use "Chibi" as hero name to enable it!
If you feel these updates have been rather small lately, it's because we've been working on the final battle! While we've just finished it, we'll wait until we have the endings ready (since you won't be able to see them otherwise). We hope we may have them ready for next week.
New features:
- City of Thebes: Added NPC texts. You will find many known characters there :)
- Improved some weapon models and textures.
- Added an option to sell all duplicates of an item in one go.
- Added more UI Improvements.
- Fixed an animation speed issue with some backpacks.
- Fixed camera issues when using levers on the City of Thebes.
- Switched contents of two chests in the Halls of Stone
- A weapon (Palace Golem Katar) has been removed from the game, and replaced by a sword. If you had the old weapon it will be removed from your inventory. Sorry!
No day is better to push a serious announcement than April 1st!
Today's update features plenty of improvements to the user interface, as well as a whole new Intro sequence.
New features:
- Improved camera behavior on player death
- Improved hit visual FX
- Improved UI graphics
- Remade the first half of the game intro
- Dungeon area: Added new decorations to the first part.
- Added an animation to the Milkstone Studios Logo
- Fixed an issue with a Chest in the City of Avaris
We've just released an update that fixes the issues with the Queen Circe fight, as well as an improvement that should reduce CPU usage by around 10%.
We're pushing an early update this week so you can check it out during the Easter holidays :)
New features:
- Done some optimizations that should increase performance a bit on CPU-bound systems.
- Added a secret reference to a well known game somewhere in the game :)
- Added the palace map
- Done more texture and material work on the characters.
- Fixed interaction camera positions (chests, NPCs, checkpoints, etc) up to the River Town area
- Named and textured the new customization items added on the last update.
This week's update is a small one, as we've mostly been working on new content not available yet.
We've also been doing screenshots using a new, super-secret photo mode (sorry, but it probably won't be available for public use) and have updated the store page.
New Features:
- Done some work on the materials and textures of plenty of items, to improve overall quality.
- Added new character hair/beard customization options (some of them are still unfinished)
- Finished new attack animations for Avaris and Thebes spearmen
- Added Intro Cutscene to the Palace Area
- Improved lighting in some scenarios, such as The Royal Quarry, as many arenas were too dark.
- Changed camera behavior so it's a bit more dynamic during combat and movement.
- Changed NPC interaction camera to get closer to the characters. This is not finished yet, for now only the Dungeon NPCs are properly set, and we have to fix the item interaction cameras too.
- Increased separation distance between combatants so the models don't overlap that frequently.
The Royal Palace is finally available for you to explore. Although the main layout and enemy locations are done, some things are still work in progress, namely NPC dialogue, item descriptions and some enemy animations.
Another big change is the update of every backpack model. We felt that the previous backpacks didn't fit well with the style of the armor sets, so we've replaced them with some really cool amulets (some of the textures are still being worked on, though).
There are also three brand new backpacks for you to try!
New Features:
- Royal Palace area is available (enemies, chests, new items, etc.)
- Three new backpacks (2 offensive ones and 1 support backpack)
- Improved backpack models. Text descriptions have not been changed yet.
- Finished plenty of textures for enemies and equipment.
- Added new animation and effects to the intro cutscene
- Improved surround sound (music and ambient sound should sound better on surround speakers)
- Updated loading screens (now they shown the area that's being loaded)
- Main Quest on the Quest Log (so that you can remember easier what's your next goal)
- Improved a bit camera behavior when you are static. It can even be moved a bit by using the right stick of the gamepad.
- Redone some of the spearmen attack animations
- Changed the location of many Teleport Steles so that they're in more convenient spots.
- Improved attack conditions of the enemy animations added in the last update.
- Tutorials didn't appear when intended
- A Teleport Stele in the Halls of Stone didn't work properly
A new Friday, a new update!
This week we bring the Quest log, a very requested feature that will help you remember some secondary tasks ordered by characters.
It's not fully tested yet, and the main quest still doesn't appear there, but other than that it should work.
We've also added new animations for the Avaris / Thebes guards, so they are a bit harder now. We'll balance them once all animations of that area are finished (still missing the Spear animations).
New features:
- Added a quest log to the inventory section, so you can check remaining tasks given by characters.
- Finished intro cutscene for Oanness.
- Finished texturing some of the weapons in the new areas (Armors are still using placeholder textures).
- New attack animations for Avaris/Thebes guards with shields.
- Increased attack speed of the starting Torch weapon.
New update!
This week's update is a small but important one, fixing all the known graphical issues.
We've also been working on the pyramid area that you'll access through Thebes (some of you have even walked around it because of a mistake of ours). We've finished most enemy and level design, and started working on models and textures of the area, so it's not ready for this update (though you can get a sneak peek if you get there from the Thebes bridge).
We've also finished the intro cutscenes for both the mysterious Queen Circe and the brutal War Golem.
New features:
- Now you can view the map of the current area by pressing the M key (can be rebinded). If you don't have the map for that area yet, it just shows the item inventory.
- New model for Chests containing important items.
- Added most of the achievement images
- Added a map of the city of Thebes to one of the chests.
- Updated to the latest Unity version, should have fixed graphical glitches on Linux.
- Should have fixed graphical glitches when changing detail level.
- Fixed Big Head mode not being properly applied to player character.
- Now "High" is the default quality level, instead of "Low"
- Tweaked War Golem fight: Now you can only dash through him during certain attacks (and updated the boss AI accordingly), so it's a more difficult enemy now.
We've just submitted an update that properly locks the Palace Area, and it also fixes the issue with the checkpoint in that area, so people that had issues with spawning there should be safe now.
Today's update brings the City of Thebes. Although it's not fully finished yet (all the lore and item descriptions is missing, most equipment has still a placeholder texture, and the enemy animations aren't done yet), it should be playable and enjoyable.
We've also finished the intro for the first boss in the game, The Warden. You sure don't want to mess with this guy!
This update also brings Achievements to the game. There's plenty of them, and while most of them should be obtained just by playing the game, a few of them can only be unlocked on specific conditions, as well as a few secret ones (don't worry, they shouldn't be too hard to unlock).
Since we've focused on preparing the new content this week, there are no bugfixes or gameplay changes worth mentioning.
New features:
- Opened the City of Thebes area, with new enemies, equipment, quests, etc.
- Done the Warden boss intro.
- Added achievements. Icons are temporary, we'll update them later.
Hello everyone, new update today! We've been working hard on the new area (the city of Thebes), and most of the gameplay is almost ready, but the art is still halfway done and some parts of the scenario are really ugly, so we'll probably wait until next week to open this area to you.
New features:
- New NPC interaction animations (still not finished)
- Improved Oannes scenario art and lighting
- Finished Oannes and her minions' particle effects
- Done some geometry batching that should noticeably improve performance on some scenarios (by around 15-25%). This might cause some issues with dynamic elements, so please report if you find something.
- Added new loading tips explaining in more detail some of the game mechanics.
- Added a new tip on the Dungeon level explaining the Guard Break mechanic.
- Fixed particle bug after picking up our corpse
- Fixed some camera issues on specific points of Avaris
- Now a ring passive buff is properly removed when removing the ring.
- Changed how weight affects stamina: The stamina reduction is halved, but stamina regeneration is still lower. In other words, the stamina pool is bigger, but regeneration stays the same.
- Changed a bit some arenas on the Halls of Stone, to add more enemy variety
- Increased The Warden boss difficulty (damage and health).
- Increased Level Cap to 30.
- Maximum stamina increase a bit more when leveling up (around 10%)

In Ancient Egypt, death awaits at every corner
Pharaonic is an unforgiving sidescrolling Action-RPG set in Ancient Egypt. Explore a vast kingdom full of dangers and brutal enemies while you find the truth behind Ahmosis I, the Red Pharaoh.
Only the most audacious warriors will have any chance of success. The Pharaoh's army and countless dangerous creatures will stand in your way.
Original and streamlined combat system
Polish your combat skills to the finest and loot the best gear possible to even have the slightest chance of overcoming this difficult endeavor. Will you opt for lightweight equipment, trusting on your agility to avoid death? Or will you prefer to take the blow and strike back even harder? The decision is entirely yours to make.
Get ready to challenge the gods
Throughout your path you will find help from the Daughters of Ishtar, as well as the oppresed countrymen. Learn new skills and subdue divine powers to overcome your opponents. Drink from your life-water canteen to heal your wounds, and acquire new equipment that will help you avoid death one more day.
It's a tough journey, but the Gods believe in you. Will you be worthy of that honor?
