V1.7 Improvements

+Note, you will have to clear the save data for this update to work.

+Introducing the spell mastery exam! - A new area requiring adept spell knowledge. (West of Yum city)
+Spells are now held at chest level instead of above your head. It seems to make more sense this way.
+Silvertrees near the wind dojo - Like the beautiful silver trees of South Africa. I am trying to add an authentic touch to the environments in the game.
+New NPCs and dialogues
+removed some city boundaries making the world more open-worldish

v1.6 Improvements

2 April - 5 May 2020

These weeks I have begun experimenting with new graphics and that has taken most of my time. There are some other small updates too:
Improved spell ambient sound effects. Listen to it fly past your ears!
Greatly improved settings menu
Fire spirits added to the wind dojo region
White robes issue fixed

v1.5 - Wind spell and dojo

Wind spell overhauled!
Wind dojo added! Search the world to find it!
Casting history now displayed at top of screen
Shifted areas to make the world more open and explorable on foot
Removed some city boundaries to allow more free exploration
Made the dungeon boss more dangerous

Can teleport from second city back to first and vice versa after arriving at second city
Fixed collisions of spells with walls
Updated patch notes
Improved navigation in beginning section of game
Improved tutorial section
Fixed camera issues
Now can't cast while swimming

Patch Notes v1.3 - Main Quest


18 - 24 March 2020

v1.3:
+Added a main quest with several new environments to explore
+Added a hidden achievement in the Monastery Temple area, see if you can get it.
+Added new characters
+New spell upgrade!
+Rewrote and expanded existing dialogues
+Added PS4 Controller support!
+Added a new obstacle course
+Improved the dungeon in Volcanic city
+Casting water into the train's engine now causes it to cool down rapidly
+Fixed clipping issues
+Fixed camera out of bounds issue
+Fixed issue where water spell upgrade did no damage

Will be launching a Kickstarter in April. The idea is to redesign the graphics.

New rooms and enemies

Step into the church to enter the dungeon. Try to solve the puzzle in today's update to get to the next room where a tough enemy is waiting for you. Defeat him and he will teach you a strange new power that will give you an advantage in future fights!

New rooms

In this update there are two new rooms, one with a big hole and a new kind of enemy, and the other with 3 enemies all together. Be careful!

In the next update there will be two more new rooms with another puzzle and a tough enemy.

Update - More dungeon rooms

What's new?

In this update we have two new dungeon rooms. In the first room there is a puzzle which you must solve to open the locked door. In the next room is a new kind of enemy and a trap. Try to defeat the enemy and be wary of where you step!

In the next update there will be two new rooms with two new enemies and several more obstacles to overcome.

New content - dungeons

Based on demand, I have created several new enemies and placed them in a trecherous dungeon for you to explore. Every day for the next few days I will update the game with new features - puzles, enemies and environments.

You can now play against others online. Give it a try. It is very simple at the moment but it works!

What's in the new update?

fixed AI bug: opponents are now more dangerous
-improved paths graphics
-improved rock graphics
-improved first obstacle course
-added small ice area
-made fire witch bernadette battle more interesting
-made water wizard leon's battle arena more interesting
-updates to avatars
-new characters - I am currently working on new quests for these characters
-you can now cast down without hitting yourself!
-you can open the spellbook from pause menu

Future plans and features:
*Smarter enemies with new spells and fighting strategies
*New enemies that require certain strategies and knowledge of certain spells to defeat
*New areas/biomes and arenas
*Improved graphics
*New quests
*Minimap
*Save points

Other ideas:
*Day/night cycle. Find a safe place to sleep or risk getting attacked

What's coming next

Here's what I plan to develop based mostly on what people asked for:

priority #1 - more challenging and interesting duels
-more varied and interest behaviour and tactics of enemies
-enemies use multiple different spells
-enemies use new spells
-dangerous environments that change over time
-shallow river bed with changing tides and flow speed

priority #2 - more content
-more enemy types with more interesting ways to defeat them
-more avatars
-more choice based conversations and quests that can end multiple ways
-more spells
-more locations, biomes and buildings
-money
-earn money from duels and work
-pay for school to learn advanced spells and spell overcharges

priority #3 - improved graphics
-improved pathways
-more detailed people?
