This patch is live now so please go forth & enjoy as the Machine God intended. Thanks everyone!
Rock Paper Shotgun has named Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus as one of their best strategy games for 2020!
Strategy games have never looked healthier, which is why they compiled this best strategy games list of all time. They say that Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is: "Dripping with atmosphere, with moody battlefields...and a grimy industrial soundtrack that absolutely slaps."
"This is an adventure that captures that one more mission addictiveness, and its superbly written, too. The various bickering cyber-clerics behind your expedition are genuinely memorable characters, and you find yourself gripped and occasionally even laughing as their story unfolds in between missions." Have you enjoyed the game? Then why not leave a review for us here to help us reach 100% overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam this February. Ave Omnissiah.
Greetings devout Tech-Priests! Just over a year ago we released Mechanicus into the wild. It was truly a wonderful release. The reception we received from you guys was overwhelming, honestly, youre the best community weve ever had the opportunity to communicate with! Since release, weve had a ton of updates. One of our favourites was certainly the 7 hidden missions, we certainly werent expecting you guys to figure that one out as fast as you all did. Lets also not forget our largest update, the Augment Update. What a beast that was! So many options to create your own experience within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Weve also got some Controller support on the way but lets not shout too loud about that. To summarise, we know were not a multiplayer title, so were not changing the game every day to create an ever-shifting environment. This was never the goal. However, we do hope that the immersive art, animations, SFX, music, narrative, gameplay and everything else are enough for us to be worthy of some praise in your damned souls and in this years Steam awards. If youre a true Tech-Priest or a Xenos Necron, we know youve already voted us as your labour of love, and for that, we will forever pray your canticles to the Omnissiah. For all those that havent Youre a Heretek!
The Omnissiah's will has solved the following issues:
- Fixed: Secutor Command fire ability
- Fixed: Random Music during battles
- Fixed: Victory ending when losing the last DLC mission
- Fixed: Heretek blackscreen issue
- Fixed: Necron Lord never ends his turn after creating walls
- Fixed: New Troops units not showing in Cohort screen
- Fixed: Barrier after loading a save
- Fixed: Deathmark can shoot a Tech-Priest with the Cog Occultaris buff
- Fixed: Angered Spirit buff doesn't stack with Exploritor and Dominus
- Fixed: Litany of Life showing up twice in tech view
We've discovered that there is heresy amongst the crew.
Even worse, they might be Hereteks, the most unimaginable form of heresy!
It's been a great journey to get here, but it's been a wonderful one indeed. Mechanicus has only improved month on month since release and it wouldn't have been possible without all the great feedback from our dedicated and truly awesome fans!
As you may have guessed (looks at the art in this post) weve released an expansion for Mechanicus!
Weve even created a +edition called Heretek+. So, if youre into more sound, more art and an Axe to crush your treacherous foes, then it's worth looking at Heretek+
Head over to the store page now
Skulls for the Skull Throne is back and Mechanicus is proud to be taking part with a massive 35% discount on both the special Omnissiah Edition as well as the standard base game.
The festival of Warhammer Gaming continues over the weekend and along with the savings, players can also take advantage of the brand new, and totally free, update to the game.
Augment Update = LIVE
After three weeks of public beta testing the Augment Update is now live! Over those weeks weve been able to tweak the numbers to get the experience just right. With the help of the community (thanks guys youre the best!) weve also been able to iron out the experience.
How much is the Augment Update?
Free! The whole thing is free of charge!
Whats in the Augment Update
Lets just rehash what we said three weeks ago. There's a lot! Here's a really brief summary;
- IronMan Mode
- Permadeath
- Difficulty settings
- A huge array of Customisation option for those difficulty settings
- Exploration has been polished
- Tons of polish to UI elements, enough to make a servo-skull weep sacred oils
- Fonts are cleaner
- Balance changes for a couple of things
- Turkish localisation added!
But I want to play Mechanicus Classic
We understand that some people dont like change. Thats understandable, certainly from my personal point of view, us brits can be traditional! Rambling aside, you can still access Mechanicus Classic through the steam beta branch titled mechanicus-classic 1.1.4 pre-Augment Update. You can find out how to do this here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1571440010 The mechanicus-classic branch will stay as 1.1.4 forever. This is to avoid any issues should saved games not be backwards compatible for whatever reason, or youre a huge fan of vanilla.
Heretek Expansion is available for wishlisting!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1049290/Warhammer_40000_Mechanicus__Heretek/ Heretek is the expansion to the critically acclaimed tactical turn-based Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. Opening a whole new plot line, Heretek exposes the dark underbelly of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction like never before. Brand new narrative events have been handcrafted once again by Ben Counter, allowing players to uncover what has brought civil unrest to The Caestus Metalican during its campaign at Silva Tenebris. Take on frighteningly familiar foes, a cohort of heretek Tech-Priests that have changed their beliefs and forsaken the name of the Omnissiah. Can you, Magos Dominus Faustinius manage both an assault on the Necrons while being corrupted from within? Features
- New Discipline to utilise: Unlock the Xenarite. A discipline that is specialised in using xenotech, a largely forbidden practice for those that follow the Omnissiah! Plus all new augments for you to customise the appearance of your Tech-Priest.
- 5 new missions: Experience five new missions based in the Ark Mechanicus, each with a new delivery system for narrative. The choices you make will impact the battle for that mission.
- New weapons to discover: Xeno-altered weapons open up devastating possibilities, coupled with support tech that opens up new play styles.
- Two new Troops to command: Sicarian Infiltrators and Ruststalkers are now available to unlock. Pass through Necron and Heretek limbs alike with the Transonic Blades of the Ruststalker or take the stealthy route with the Infiltrators and spring an unexpected ambush.
- New but familiar enemies to face: Face your fellow brother Tech-Priests in an internal conflict over Necron xenotech while also holding back the wakening of the Necrons.
- New mission environment: Experience combat inside an Ark Mechanicus for the first time in Warhammer 40,000 history.
Let's keep this short, but informative, and awesome. We have an Open Beta! and here's the run down. Oh, how busy we have been! We know we've been silent recently, but all for good reason! We've put our heads down focusing on some things we're not able to announce right now, some things that a few people have discovered over on our Discord channel, and finally, what we're all here for, the purpose of this post, the Augment Update!!! Now, this isn't the official release, but it's no less important! This is access to the update before the official release. You can access the update on our PTR beta branch, which you can find out how to join here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1571440010
What are the key points of the update
There's a lot! So here's a really brief summary;
- IronMan Mode
- Permadeath
- Difficulty settings
- A huge array of Customisation option for those difficulty settings
- Exploration has been polished
- Tons of polish to UI elements, enough to make a servo-skull weep sacred oils
- Fonts are cleaner
- Balance changes for a couple of things
- Turkish localisation added!
I have an idea for a tickbox or modifier, how do I share this
Well, now we've worked hard at the structure of the Customisable Difficulty while also finding meaningful options for you guys to play with, we want to hear what you have to say! Please post your ideas in the Customise Difficulty suggestions sub-forum so that we can easily identify them for consideration. Please note not all idea are possible. We will do what we can.
I'm going to wait for final release
Just so you know your saves for the beta will be able to carry over to release ;) But if you're not a beta person that's fine, we will push this build live sometime in the future. Now if you're currently in a game, we've made a branch called Mechanicus-Classic for all those that want no disruption from this update. The Mechanicus-Classic branch will stay as 1.1.4 (the current version) forever. This is to avoid any issues should saved games not be backwards compatible for whatever reason. ------------------------------- The original post can be found here https://steamcommunity.com/app/673880/discussions/0/1678064284152184946/

Great news! Mechanicus is now fully supporting MacOS and Linux.
Unity Engine update
Not groundbreaking, but if it's better... then it can't be worse, right?
Patch 1.1.3 - the clean up servitor
There have been some none critical bugs just scrapping-up our precious code for some time now. It's probably fair to say that this patch deals with a fair share of those issues. As you may or may not know (still new fans every day steamhappy) you can find all Patch notes in our ChangeLog.
What's Next?
We'll be really secretive about the details right now, but here's a Necron Skeleton outline for you. - An update that will deliver a custom difficulty challenge for all - more content! (Troops, a discipline, environment and more) - more polishing... because we can!
Another Thank YOU
Thank you all for the kind words you still keep sharing with us. We just can't get over how much you all appreciate the game we have created and we cannot be more satisfied. admechblackstonepoweraxewpnskitariitechpriest
Welcome to 16.01.19.2M
Welcome to 1.1.1 This patch is our focus on some small bugs within the Mechanicus code. Effectively some polishing that will improve certain elements of the game.
Here's a bugged summary of 1.1.1
- Some guys are no longer flying, and ultimately living in walls. It was rare but annoying.
- Logic is more logical for logic sake
- no more #ERROR, yeah that was an error!
- localisation tweaks
- Walk on platforms
- Attacks of opportunity
- Linux fixes
-
if you've read this far... why? Go look at the proper list. This list is bugged.
[[[Reminder]]] = Previous patch content 1.1.0
If you haven't already, you should really check out the Tiresus Patch 1.1.0 which added new hidden content to Mechanicus. It features glowing stuff, you should really check it out
The Tiresus patch is finally here!
It's a big one, but because everything pretty much is hidden we aren't listing everything. In short, there's a whole new character mission line to take your Tech-Priests on. With a rather spectacular surprise at the end of the adventure.
For as much as we want to share, please as always check out the ChangeLog
Head over to the official post to Lingua-technis all about it techpriest
1.0.8
With patch 1.0.8 we are now focusing on balancing Mechanicus to have a nicer and smoother difficulty curve. We understand that change can be hard, and as such we have launched 1.0.8 exclusively (for now) on the PTR. We want to give you all enough time to explore the changes and the patch notes. For more details on 1.0.8 or in fact any previous patch, check out our master ChangeLog
When will 1.0.8 go LIVE, and leave PTR?
It's possible it may never go live, it might merge with a future patch or go live some time in the future. We cannot say at this point, as balance is a difficult art indeed.
So was this the hidden message?
Not entirely.
So is this happening?
Sure thing! We're also not pleased, but this is just the way things are. We do have a balance patch as you already know, and hope this helps for the week delay.
What were those last two questions about?
Easter eggs Thank you from myself and the entire Bulwark Studios team p.s.
yes... you probably spotted we didn't post about 1.0.7, it was a thing, and it's currently live. If you weren't aware, our apologies, here's a link https://steamcommunity.com/app/673880/discussions/0/1743353164084350509/
Omnissian Glory
Just over a week ago today we launched Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus. Two small patches and now our third. We have servitored day and night to deliver the smoothest Mechanicus experience to date!
1.0.6
With patch 1.0.6 we've resolved the lions share of bugs, in what fans have been telling us, "record speed". For more details on 1.0.6 or in fact any previous patches, we have now created a master list ChangeLog so that we all know everything, ever, just as the Omnissiah had planned. Lastly over the past 24hrs we've also launched our first PTR. Currently this is now the same build as the CURRENT live build. However going forward when we move into balancing and addition features, this is going to be the place to go to get the latest builds before they go live for the whole world. Want to know more about PTR? Head here.
Thank you!
Lastly thank you so much to everyone that has supported us and have been giving valuable and constructive feedback. With your support we know that we can take Mechanicus from being the greatly loved passion project weve created into something so much more. Thank you from myself and the entire Bulwark Studios team

Firstly...
Yes! That is something new in the Omnissiah Edition.
That's 'Deus Ex Mechanicus' a Digital short story by Andy Chambers.
On the dead world of Naogeddon, mysterious tombs, missing explorators and deadly defenders cause trouble for the Adeptus Mechanicus. But the biggest danger might come from within

The journey has been a long one so far, and were far from the end. Were looking well beyond the release date, due to the overwhelming feedback and delicious comments weve heard from the fans since we announced in Feb this year.
If we still had our parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands wed join you in what youre doing right now.
