Hello again everyone!
As of today, it has been three whole years since Shooting Hurts was first released!
Since I always get real nostalgic during moments like these, I decided to make a fun little Twitter thread of Shooting Hurts trivia! It has a few details about the secrets, story, and development of the game, so check it out if any of that would interest you!
You can view the thread here
I don't have any news or updates regarding futures projects yet, I'm afraid. But, should I have any big announcements, I'll be sure to post about it both here and on Twitter!
Until next time, everyone!

Today is the one-year anniversary of Shooting Hurts!
I just wanted to take a sec to thank everyone whos given my little game a try! Seeing your reactions though reviews, posts and videos has been a fantastic experience. Its genuinely amazing to think that so many people have tried out and had fun playing through something I spent so long bringing to life. Developing and releasing Shooting Hurts has been such a ride, and Im excited to see where game development takes me in the future!
I had wanted to have a new project ready for the anniversary, but what with college heating up and the general craziness life can throw, Im afraid to say I dont have anything substantial for you all yet. BUT, if you want to take a peek into the kind of things Ive been working on, you should go ahead and follow me on twitter here!
Im planning to start regularly posting small videos and screenshots to show off whatever little projects or mechanics Im currently tinkering with. Hope to see you all there!
Once again, thank you all for trying out this game, and special shout-out to everyone whos taken the time to see the true ending! Your dedication means the world to me!
Theres more to come in the future, but for now, I wish you all Good Luck in all you try to do!

It seems I forgot to disable a few debugging features when I pushed the latest update. They should all be properly disabled now, and the game should be fully playable again!

Hi everyone, me again! Today's a special day: it's been exactly one month since Shooting Hurts was first released on Steam, and to celebrate, I wanted to add in a small update that finally adds in an options menu! The menu is accessible in the pause menu of the game, and allows you to adjust your field of view, mouse sensitivity and the volume of the game. Settings are saved when you apply them and should persist when you close and reopen the game. I have one or two more settings I'd like to add in later on, but if there are any settings you think would improve your experience with the game, feel free to suggest them in the comments/ discussion boards. They just might make it in! In the meantime, I hope you all have a better adjusted time with Shooting Hurts! Good Luck!

Hi everybody, to celebrate the beginning of October, I've released an update that enables all the achievements! You should now be able to view almost all of them in your steam library. My hope is that this adds nice layer to the game that gives it a little more replay-ability. (I personally recommend starting a new game to unlock achievements, if only to prevent a few of them from unlocking all at once) In addition, I also made a few small tweaks to the game to fix some bugs and improve the experience. I hope you all enjoy! Good luck!

Hi everybody! It's been a week now since Shooting Hurts was released and what a week it has been (We've passed 4,000 downloads!) Since the release, life has found a way to keep me pretty busy, but I found the time to churn out a patch to cap off the first week! You should be able to update the game and try it out for yourself. Here's a list of everything noticeable that has been changed: -Fixed door audio bug: door closing/ opening animations should now be synced with the audio -Fixed mouse not being hidden when starting a level (this one REALLY bugged me) -Fixed Large Gnat collision: large gnats should now behave exactly like normal ones -Fixed extra opening sounds: doors would replay the opening sound if large gnats were defeated after they opened. They do not do that now. It's mainly bug fixes for now, but this update also contains the framework for achievements! So far there is only one that can actually be "achieved", but more are already on the way. I've already planned them all out, and even made icons for them (view them early on my twitter: https://twitter.com/JVidal_GameDev). All that's left is for me to actually implement them in game! For now though I'd just like to make sure I set up this first one correctly, so if any of you have trouble unlocking it, please post it in a discussion. I've been keeping an eye on those! Stay tuned for more updates down the line everyone, there's (hopefully) more to come once things settle down! Good Luck!

Hi everyone! Late yesterday, Shooting Hurts passed the 1,000 downloads mark! I'm truly in awe that so many of you have taken the time to try out my game. I've loved seeing what you all think of the game, watching you push through its challenges and even find the secrets it has (shout out to ChickenNuggs)! I have a few things planned for this game still, an update or two to try and fix some bugs and *maybe* add in a few things... I'll have to see what my Options are, and think through what I can Achieve with the time I have. In the meantime, stay tuned for more information, and consider following my twitter account for more frequent updates: https://twitter.com/JVidal_GameDev Thanks again to everyone for trying out my game! Good luck!

After over a year and a half in development, I'm proud to announce that Shooting Hurts is now available for download! 100% free, anyone with a Windows or Mac device can give it a try! Shooting Hurts is designed to be a fun, but challenging game. With about a dozen levels to complete and a final challenge for those who can face it. My goal is for it to be an entertaining way to spend a few hours. I'm very excited to see how people react to this game, and how fast they uncover all there is to see in it. Stay tuned for future updates! Good Luck!
