Catechesis Resurrects from the Dead on its 10th Anniversary Announcement!

It was a small horror game that adapted Resident Evil mechanics with cute pixel art. To our surprise, we received an enthusiastic response that led to features on well-known websites like Kotaku and Polygon. Our trailer garnered thousands of views and built a devoted following of people eagerly anticipating this pixelated survival horror game. It was the early days of the Indie Game Scene.

Eventually, Catechesis was put on hold, and Baroque Decay shifted their focus to smaller projects like The Count Lucanor and Yuppie Psycho. Now, ten years later and armed with more experience, we are thrilled to announce that Catechesis is back, and we're committed to completing what we started a decade ago.

Hello fellow employees, Doshi made a few fixes, nothing too important :

• Smoother smoothness : it could happen that the game was not as smooth as Doshi likes things to be. A fix has been made to ensure that if the game has vsync, then the screen refresh rate is used as expected for the game.
• Consistency check fix : If a save file is corrupted, the game could lock up on startup. The employee responsible for this issue has been fired, you can pick up his belongings on floor 4, near the HR offices.

Hello fellow employees. Today's meeting is about the new version of Yuppie Psycho. We worked a lot to continue improving our game so that anyone could play it. ( I know some will be disappointed, but this update does not contain any new content)
In this new version :

• Mac support is back : The game is back on Apple computers. It's still in beta though, so if you have some trouble running the game, let us know.
• Reducing light flashes : We added a new option to help reduce the discomfort due to light flashes that one could feel while playing the game. It was a challenge to do that 3 years after release. ( Thanks to @ihatestyx for the help. )
• Some UI fixes : We made a few fixes to make the UI more usable. ( Thanks to @Yung Gus for pointing some of them )

Hello fellow employees. Today we can finally officially announce the release of a new version of Yuppie Psycho. We've been working on migrating our old game engine on PC to a brand new one. Starting from version 2.5, the PC version of the game is now using the same engine as consoles. This upgrade also brings a full Steam Deck compatibility.
[hr][/hr] The new engine is bringing :

• Unlocked Framerate : the game can now run at more than 60FPS, so smooth !
• Fast forward in dialogs : for the employees who can read ultra fast !
• Better sound engine using FMOD.
• Linux compatibility is back
• Performances improvements and bug fixes.
• Higher compatibility with all systems and peripherals
• Updated translations

Please note that this update is only technical. No new content has been added. If you have complaints, we strongly suggest you to take an appointment with HRs. [hr][/hr] We ran a lengthy beta test to ensure everything is running smoothly on most computers. However, issues could always happen and we'll do our best to solve it. Please also note that we always keep branches of major previous versions. If you feel like going back in time and have the vanilla experience, you will always be able to do it. We really hope you'll enjoy this update. It was made to ensure the game is more future-proof and could be played for years by everyone. [hr][/hr] Here's a little note about the technical part regarding saves :

• As the engine is totally different, saves are incompatible without being migrated.
• Migration is executed at first run of v2.5. Depending on the amount of saves, it could take up to 30 secs, even more if you got a bit addicted to those witch papers.
• Once migration is done, after the game initial loading, you should find all your saves in the "load soul" menu
• Original saves are kept, a new saves directory is created inside the game folder root, containing the new saves.
• Progress made in the v2.5 is only compatible with v2.5

We often receive complaints about the game not responsive to keyboard input when the Windows Input Method is set to Chinese. What happens is that the keyboard inputs are catched by the OS, and the game engine has no idea that an input even occured. Hello dear players. We received a red floppy disk with a spooky snake watermark on the label. It's written "1.0.7" in a strange red ink, maybe cow blood ? Anyway, here we go :

• Korean, French and Galician translation fixes
• Fixing the input{previous} texts not being replaced with gamepad
• Mouse control is removed on Mac temporarily, until we find a solution. ( you can force it back with the "forcemouse" launch option )
• A new launch options "obs" has been added to test some fixes for some streamers.

Dear players, Here's a small list of the content of this new version, mainly focused on game controllers : - Xbox Dpad is now working out of the box - PS4 buttons have been remapped to fit more to PS usages. - Wireless gamepads that go to sleep are now correctly reconnected when waking up - There are now 2 Steam Input configurations for Switch Pro Controller, and Steam Controller - a few text fixes here and there - a few map fixes. Due to an issue with Steam's Input system controller can sometimes have an issue with input. Right Click Yuppie Psycho in your game library In General Tab -Locate Steam Input Per-Game Setting Select "Forced Off" Restart Game This should fix any controller issues.
