Mayors, The latest version of NewCity is now live on the Testing branch. Details below:

  • Added smooth scrolling to scrollboxes
  • Added toggle for contour lines on terrain
  • Added new art assets for decorations
  • Added more color and variety to the building illumination textures
  • Added the Federal Building amenity and associated achievement
  • Added LOD simple meshes for vehicles
  • Fixed certain situations where University Buildings wouldn't unlock
  • Fixed improper calculation of economic statistics when reloading saves
  • Fixed amenities disappearing in certain situations
  • Fixed an issue where vehicles would get stuck at the end of lanes
  • Fixed incorrect amenity maintanence display
  • Fixed counting error in the People Sick statistic
  • Fixed some situations around Building Highlights that would result in a crash
  • Improved error handling and logging for OpenAL errors
  • New and Improved Building Designs, including new Skyscrapers
  • Removed the negative effect of vehicles on the Health heatmap
You can opt in to the Testing branch via the Betas tab, found by right-clicking NewCity in your Steam Library and selecting Properties. Simply click the dropdown under the Betas tab and choose "test - Testing branch." You can return to the current main build via the same dropdown by choosing "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" instead. Going from one to the other will trigger an update as Steam fetches you the desired branch. Thank you to everyone who's been playing and submitting feedback and bug reports; we hear you!
