NewCity February 12, 2021 Update - v0.0.58.4 Patch Notes

Happy Lunar New Year, Mayors!

Our patch available today in the test branch is all about stability. We have heard your requests; autosaves can be turned off now.

These are the patch notes:
Version 0.0.58.4 ALPHA

Features
• There is now a slider to control how often the game autosaves. Drag the slider all the way to the right to disable autosaving entirely.
 • Link Mode - When building roads, click on the link button to build a chain of roads.
 • When querying a building, there is now a button to open that building design in the designer.
 • Modding: It is now possible to read and modify buildings and building designs in Lua. Also added Lua API calls to get the name of the city's newspaper. See the Lua API section of the Citipedia for more information.
Improvements
• Roads are slightly less shiny.
 • Water is now completely flat, to improve the visuals of boats.
 • Historical buildings are now shown in the roadmap, the transit view, and the underground view.
 • General Performance Improvements
Bugfixes
• Fixed issues with flickering or reappearing UI elements.
 • Linux: Changed the launch script (newcity-linux.sh) to improve compatibility across distros.

Check out this update via the Betas tab. Right-click NewCity in your Steam Library and select Properties. Click the dropdown under the Betas tab and choose the "test - Testing branch". You can opt-out by choosing "NONE - Opt-out of all beta programs" instead. Going from one to the other will trigger an update as Steam fetches you the desired branch.

We really appreciate all the feedback and bug reports here on Steam and Discord! Please keep posting your thoughts and touching base with us.

Help us celebrate this weekend with a 10% off sale!

Happy Year of the Ox,
Lone Pine Games
