Hello Giants!
We've celebrated the release of the game over the weekend. At this current point in time, the game sold ~295 copies really within our expectations. This means we're almost 40% of the way towards my goal of having Bearded Giant Games 100% independent and focused on original game creation and client/freelancing work. But enough about this, let's talk about what you can expect from the game this week!
For Space Mercs - we will going to establish a weekly routine of releases in a Tik-Tok fashion.
- On the Tik week, the game will see patches that contains bug fixes and quality of live improvements.
- During the Tok week we will be working on content updates and new features.
Patches and updates start going up on the game's
Beta branch during Tuesday or Wednesday and should become available in the default branch on Friday or the Weekend! So if you want to help out and test things - you can jump on the beta branch!

In the first patch, we're focusing on solving issues raised by you guys over the weekend. On the first patch we're focusing on fixing the following issues:
- Resolution duplicates when scrolling through the resolution list
Some of you have duplicate resolutions in the options menu when you scroll through the list making it seem that the Next and Previous buttons are stuck.
- View mode saved between sessions
Your last view (cockpit or exterior) will be saved and the game will default to it on the next mission.
- Multiple FPS Cap targets
We heard you loud and clear on this one - multiple FPS locks will be available to be set from the options menu if you want to cap it. 30, 60, 90, 120 FPS sounds like a good target for me!
- Invert Y axis
No need for explanation here - we're enabling it for all control modes
- Improve readability for Hull and Energy values
- Fix for auto targeting non-objective enemies in range
- Fix for audio slider defaulting to 0 on hitting the apply button for the first time
Mouse support (or work on it) will start with this week and will rollover into next's week content update! You can checkout progress on the feature via
twitter - as I'm about to start a thread on the issues I'm having with Unity and Mouse axis behavior in and outside the development environment!
Let's get to work!
