Metrico+ now available for Linux and Steam OS!

It took us a bit longer than we hoped, and took us a long time to start working on, with our other projects often having a higher priority, but it's here now. Build 1.005 is Live


Hey all, We have a fix for what was reported this week: What in this update? - The achievement upon completing all others should now correctly be awarded. If you already unlocked all other achievements, this one should be awarded when simply booting the game. - A fix for platforms that are reacting to enemies in earlier puzzles in world 6. - The special achievement for world 5 has been made slightly more forgiving. Known Issues: - Steam Cloud doesn't work for OS X, due to the + character. As always, do let us know in if you're running into anything else! Cheers :)

Build 1.003 is Live

Hey all, Just a quick fix for what was reported earlier today: What in this update? - The 'Help Animation' at the start of world 5 should now be working as intended when playing with the mouse (and keyboard). Known Issues: - Steam Cloud doesn't work for OS X, due to the + character. We're investigating if a workaround is possible, but didn't want to let Windows players wait for it. Let us know in if you're running into anything else! Cheers :)

Hey all, We are very glad so many of you have been exploring the world of Metrico. The responses have been very positive, which is great for the team. We are also happy with the complete absence of bug reports so far. We will continue to update the build whenever there are things we want to fix. If you do find a bug please send it in, because we want every player to have the best experience possible, and we'd be happy to fix it. We´re not really getting any bug reports from you, which is of course a really good sign, but we figured there would have to be some thing that end up going wrong, and now we don't really know what to do ;) We did find one thing today that we really wanted to fix asap: What in this update? - A fix concerning the final sequence; The doors may have been open for some players while entering the last section, resulting in an unintended shortcut of the last bit of the experience, and as a result preventing something from being possible that we won't spoil here. - Also fixed that the Restart World button in the pauze menu is really only visible when intended. Known Issues: - Steam Cloud doesn't work for OS X, due to the + character. We're investigating if a workaround is possible, but didn't want to let Windows players wait for it. - Achievements may not appear in your activity feed. We suspect it is because they're all hidden. Metrico+ is out now!

When we started Digital Dreams we were just 3 guys making stuff that we loved. We’re incredibly grateful that Sony picked us up ~4 years ago. Back then we didn’t even know yet what the world of Metrico would look like and how it would work. All we had was this scruffy prototype, but Sony had faith in us and the game, and helped making it into an actual game that is coming out today on PlayStation 4 and Steam. Making it big


Like so many of you, we grew up with some awe-inspiring games. We’ve had so many fantastic games and experiences that we will never forget: games like Rez, Metal Gear Solid, Journey or Shadow of the Colossus are just a few of a very long list of games that made a big impression on us. It’s what inspired us to start a company with one goal in mind: make original game experiences no one ever experienced before. When looking back, now that our studio has released our first game on Steam and PlayStation 4 (and Xbox One pending), we can honestly say this is a dream coming true.

Our personal journeys


While working on Metrico+, we obviously experienced a lot personally as well. Lots of things changed for us in the meantime: Relationships came and went, we had to move offices and homes and we all grew a little older and wiser. The company changed as well. We worked with lots of different people to make Metrico+ possible. Most moved out when their work was finished, some stayed, but all had one thing in common: We all became close friends. As game developers, particularly on lengthy projects such as Metrico+, all of these personal endeavours become part of the experience you’re creating. It’s this weird symbiosiss between your personal and professional lives that is difficult to put into words. It’s what makes it so difficult but also satisfying to release a game.

This is for the Players


Anyway, without sounding too cheesy, we can honestly say the players are the reason why we can make these original games. We can’t wait to show you the next world that we’re creating. Metrico is a new world. A living world of infographics, driven by your input. All the bar charts, line diagrams and pie charts react to what the player is doing. One bar diagram might grow for every step you walk to the left, while another could decline with every jump you make.

A New Perspective
You will have to explore Metrico and carefully analyze your every move to see how it affects the world, and whether it will get you further. This mechanic is called “Input Morphing” and it makes you think about actions you normally don’t think about.

There are 6 unique worlds to explore with distinct challenges, mechanics, looks, sounds, and original music by Palmbomen.
Metrico+ is a combination of exploration, skill, experimentation, but most of all: thinking outside of the box.
