Update 1.2.4

Additions:

  • Added a monster counter to see how many roamers are still lurking in the caves.


Fixes:
  • Fixed Ancient Orange the Trader not selling more than 4 items if the item "A trader sells you +1 more item before he changes his location" was found.
  • The jumping monster with the long tail can no longer escape into the void. If it ever tries to glitch through walls again, it will die and give you gold.
  • The last update made Little Turnip the Weapon Trader immortal. He can now be slain again.
  • Drunkard was able to speak while being dead. That is now fixed.

Reverted back to 1.1.4. Hotfix coming soon!

Discovered a game breaking bug with the new animation systems and reverted back to 1.1.4. Leaderboards will be disabled for a few days. A hotfix is on its way!

Leaderboards! A Golden Greatsword for the best player!

Added Steam Leaderboards! Only the best player in the world will be able to obtain a Golden Greatsword with Spikes! It deals 666 points of pure damage and is rewarded to only one player - the current leader with the most gold collected!

Upon reaching the first place in the Leaderboards, continue to purchase weapons from Little Turnip and instead of the premium Greatsword with Spikes you will receive the ultra rare Golden variant! Almost double the damage for the real hardcore master of the caves!

Also made adjustments to weapon mouse scrolling mechanics and weapon text display time.

Update 1.2. Changes to controls.

After analyzing all the feedback received so far, I decided to make the following significant changes to the controls:


  • No more double clicks to perform heavy attacks. Heavy attacks can be performed with the right mouse click. Alternatively heavy attacks can be performed by pressing the Alt key.
  • Attacks can be performed while in the air. Previously attacking enemies was only possible on the ground.
  • The instakill button moved from the right mouse button to the key Q. The eating corpses or deploying a bomb button moved from Y to the Back button on the Xbox 360 controller. Y is now the heavy attack button on the controller.
  • Added short descriptions to the control screen: the eating corpses button has to be unlocked and bombs have to be bought.

Animations:
  • Animator logic has been updated to create faster response times and a better feel to the core combat. Jumping and rolling animations can now be instantly interrupted by attack animations. This gives more direct control to the player.
  • Normal attack animation speeds increased for faster gameplay. Hack away!
  • Recalibrated the use of stamina. Normal attacks take 33% less stamina.

Co-op:
  • Players two, three and four get a dedicated key for heavy attacks.

Hardcore Stoners can now earn the bloodiest achievements which were previously unreachable.

Fixed achievements:

Update 1.1.3. Fixes and a timer for speedrunners!

Additions

  • For all you speedrunning maniacs I added a timer to the ending screen displaying the "Revenge time" it took to brutally slay your blood brother.


Fixes
  • Fixed enemies running into an invisible wall when coming towards the player. Was caused by the item "During executions enemies move 75% slower!" not turning off properly after executions. Now all enemies will move at their regular speeds 5 seconds after an execution is performed.

  • Fixed not gaining any health when eating corpses and having 250HP as maximum health.

  • Fixed traders spawning items inside walls and making them unreachable. Now traders check if any walls are over them. If any walls are found, then they will spawn items right in front of them.

Update 1.1.2. Balancing and gameplay changes

Changes to gameplay:


  • Maximum speed capped at triple the normal speed. Was previously uncapped and some item combinations could make the character too fast to control.
  • Starting price of a weapon is 2500. Every weapon purchase will raise the price by 15%.
  • The deadliest weapons can be bought starting from level 3.
  • Price for items can't be lower than 250. Was previously uncapped and with some item combinations could have been as low as a few gold pieces.
  • Price for weapons can't be lower than 999. Was also previously uncapped.
  • Cooling down timer for traders reduced from 2.0 seconds to 0.1 seconds. No more waiting in line.
  • Can't move while eating corpses anymore.
  • Added a phrase to the Gatekeeper in which he tells you to be smart with you gold, because he will take the gold he wants even if you have cleared the level of all creatures.


Changes to default controls:

  • Eating corpses moved to a separate key on the keyboard. Previously it was tied to the same key as the Execution key. On the controller it was moved from executing enemies to the same button as deploying a bomb. Bombs are very rare and you can not eat any corpses until you have deployed the bomb. As always, all keyboard and controller buttons are rebindable so feel free to experiment.


Fixes:

  • Added a animation state between a running animation and a eating a corpse animation.
  • Little Turnip the weapon trader will no longer die when you have the "no traders can die" item.
  • An important gameplay item will now be granted automatically upon slaying the big beast. Previously you had to pick it up near the corpse.
  • Made improvements to level 3, hopefully eliminating any rare getting stuck glitches. I was not able to reproduce that glitch myself so anyone experiencing any problems notify me in the forums!

Weapons are cheaper. 2000 gold instead of 3000 gold to buy a weapon from Little Turnip the weapon trader. He sells weapons randomly like a mystery box and the best weapons in the game like the Spiked Great Sword and the Blood Horn can only be obtained from him.

Fixes:

  • Fixed no sound issues on 64-bit Linux machines.
  • All perks can now be selected with a controller.

4-player Local Co-op in patch 1.1!

Changes and fixes in Stones of Sorrow 1.1:

  • Added 4-player local co-op on a single screen. The camera zooms automatically out when players are far away from each other and back in if players are close.
  • No instakills or manual map zooms during co-op. Enjoy the sadistic co-op madness in this ultimate bloodbath!
  • Only player 1 can perform those juicy executions for +666 gold!

Changes to core combat:
  • Changed the animator logic to create more responsive combat.
  • Fixed attacks not properly responding to clicks.
  • Increased stamina regeneration while standing +40% and while running +88% for more fluid attacks

Fixes:
  • Fixed a strange bug where running against the wall and trying to hit it for whatever reason would play a delayed attack animation.
  • In-game settings can now be changed with a controller.
