Broken Lines - The Importance of Cover
The fourth installment of the Broken Lines Dev Diaries is here. This time were taking an in-depth look at the cover mechanics implemented in Broken Lines. As we get closer to our release date (still scheduled for Q1 of 2020) we decided that its time for our homepage to get a big rework! So, introducing the new Broken Lines homepage!
We are looking for beta testers to play through the game, find bugs and tell us what you feel needs improving. If you think you are up to the task, sign up here for a chance to get into the beta program! Please note, signing up does not guarantee a beta position as the spaces are limited. Furthermore, if you want to talk to the developers, get to know the other people playing Broken Lines, or simply want to learn more about the game, join us on Discord today! Starting things off weve got another fun bug that our game testers found. Somehow Avery developed the ability to move through walls. Though we think that Avery with superpowers is a fun idea, it certainly is something that we need to fix (and fix it we shall)!
Next up we have some eye-candy shots for you. No matter what you choose to do, you will encounter fierce resistance from these strange masked enemies. In this image, you can see them holding the line and laying down a barrage of fire. Though they are formidable, theyre not behind any cover so they can be defeated by a smart player. Perhaps they should have paid more attention to the importance of cover during their training!

The squad has crash-landed behind enemy lines, in the heart of Eastern Europe. With no officers, no leaders, and no intel, they must find an unbreakable resolve if they are to survive.
But with only their training and instincts to guide them, survival becomes a difficult goal. First of all, they need to learn to work together to have any hope of coping with the challenges ahead.
Each survivor has their own views on what to do, and their own principles on what is acceptable. Some want to investigate what caused their crash, others want to stay low and avoid detection by the enemy. There are even whispers of desertion.
It is your task to be the unseeing hand that will guide this ragtag group of soldiers through their struggles. Make your decisions wisely, for they will have real consequences on the fates of the survivors.
