Hello, and thank you for playing LOVE 2: kuso! As I have made a native Linux port of the game for an older version of Linux, it is not properly supported by the Steam Deck, but thankfully with Windows version runs perfectly! I've spoken with folks at Valve who have assured me that this will eventually be something I can set in the backend, but for folks with a Steam Deck who want to play the game now, here you go!
First, find LOVE 2: kuso in your Steam Library on your Steam Deck, and press the Options Button, as illustrated at the bottom of the screen.
Second, find the "Properties..." option, and press A.
Finally, on the left side of the screen, select the "Compatibility" option, set "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool", and select "Proton Experimental".
This will download the Windows build of the game, and you'll be good to go. Launch it like you would any other game on your Steam Deck!
If you've enjoyed your time with LOVE 2: kuso on or off the Steam Deck, it'd be a huge help if you'd leave a review of the game! This will tell Steam to share the game with folks who might also like it. One review can go a long way to a game's success, so I hope you'll take a moment and do that.
Thanks so much for your support, and I hope you enjoy!

Hello everyone, I'm Fred Wood, the developer of the LOVE games. I've been working on developing LOVE 3 for over a year now and am excited to finally let you try a slice of the game!
On Wednesday June 16th, we'll be releasing a five-level demo as part of the Steam NextFest! Each level will have a secret to discover as well as its own ranked speedrun leaderboards. This fully featured demo will be a perfect representative slice of the game that we'll be releasing later this year.
The demo will have six new tracks from James Bennett that I'm very excited about, and we'll be releasing a 7-track Demo EP with proceeds going directly to him. You can hear a sample of the Demo EP right here!
[previewyoutube=CvTMuH2EjT0;full][/previewyoutube]
I can't wait to see what everyone thinks of the game! I'm particularly proud of the level of depth these levels have, and considering the many hours I've spent developing it, I can't wait to see speedrunners tear it down.
We have a Community Discord that we would love for you to be part of, so you can share your thoughts about the demo, tips for speedrunning, or to just show off your best time. Come and join us!
And of course, the two biggest things you can do to help this game are to tell your friends, and very, crucially important, add the game to your Steam Wishlist!
Adding games to your Steam Wishlist helps you by letting you know about updates and releases relevant to a game, but for developers like me, it's an incredible tool that lets Steam know that this is a game that people might be interested in! So please, take a moment, and make sure to click that beautiful green "Add to your wishlist" button.

kuso v3.0.0a Release Notes
- The Options Menu has been streamlined to allow for more fine-tuning of sound options, as well as a better screen size option for folks who have very high resolution screens.
- In-Game Achievements! I've added a new menu option on the title screen to keep track of your achievements in game! Also there's a new in-game toast when you get new achievements.
- Local Leaderboards! Now your best time is saved locally and displayed when selecting a level in the...
- New Level Select Menu! Now you can choose practice mode, speedrun mode, and YOLO mode! Practice mode lets you play any level you'd like from the entire game with the option for Slow Mo, and allows you to practice for your ideal speedrun time. YOLO mode will restart the level for you whenever you die, and can be combined with Speedrun mode to
- YOLO Medals! Want a new challenge? Go complete levels in YOLO Mode in Level Select to unlock YOLO medals. Collect them all and you will gain access to something special, aside from the 26th achievement!
- Bonus Level! Attain the YOLO achievement and you'll unlock one additional bonus level featuring new mechanics and a unique style. Music for the Bonus Level is SC-1903, licensed from the Nash Music Library. Congrats to KC for being the first player to complete it!
- Hat! You've been begging for it, and now it's available. For only $4.99 USD, you can equip fiveEight with their signature blue hat! You know, from the title screen of LOVE! The hat provides absolutely no benefit whatsoever, but the hat does fall off when you die, and has its own physics, so you can create your mountain of hats.
- kuso Level 6 is now 100% less random! I've listened to the Speedrun Community and with the help of -7 we've now got a much better object spawning pattern for Level 6 which will make speedrunning more fair.
- The Discord! Wait, okay, that's not an update, we've just still got a Discord community! Come hang out and make friends and share your times and thoughts and dreams and wishes.
- Pulstario! Not an update to kuso, but I've released another game on Steam called Pulstario! It may have flown under the radar for you, but if you're looking for some more challenge and speedrun-goodness and good music from James Bennett and Oliver Whitehouse. Also it's only $0.99 USD!

I've been hinting for months that there's one final secret in kuso. It's my 32nd birthday and with the game on a brief deep sale, I figured I'd share with you what the final secret is.
The final secret track will be added to the kuso Official Soundtrack Volume 2 in the coming weeks, so look forward to that.
If you picked up kuso as part of the current deep sale, please consider leaving the game a review. One of the best ways for games to get discovered on Steam is by user reviews. Your review matters, especially for small games like mine.
And in case you felt like double dipping, the game is now also available on the Nintendo Switch in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand! Read more about that at www.kuso.ge !
Thank you so much for all your support.

This is a fairly small update for kuso fixing a few bugs I had missed with the huge update last week. If you find any issues, there's a couple of things you can do to help: We've got a stickied thread in the Steam Forums for official bug reports: LINK More directly, we've got an Official Discord Server for kuso and LOVE, and I'm almost always available there: DISCORD Soundtrack Update There was a hiccup with Volume 2 of the kuso Soundtrack, but that's been fixed. Feel free to pick it up here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/979280/kuso__Soundtrack_Vol_2/ A Simple Request If you've enjoyed kuso and this update, please take a moment to leave a review on Steam. I'm gonna write a lot of things here, but you could instead hear and watch them right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RGab6STHAs&feature=youtu.be As mentioned in the previous announcement, kuso is one year old. For the last year, I've been quietly working on updating the game behind the scenes for a big free update, so here's the patchnotes! 16 Levels - Completely remade levels from 2014's LOVE 16 Music Tracks including new tracks and remastered versions 2 Player Race Mode 9 Additional Levels 13 new Achievements Individual Level Speedrun Leaderboards for every level Additional Leaderboards for different gameplay modes Redone Menus Save & Quit in the middle of a non-speedrun mode In-Game Keyboard Remapping (Shift+F6 at any time) Audio Level Sliders Jukebox Mode with 49 selectable tracks New Secrets kuso is now available on the Nintendo Switch! We've added the kuso Original Soundtrack Volume 2, which includes all the music from the update as well as demo tracks and unused tracks made during the update's development. It's the only way we've monetized this update, so if you'd like to support us, that's a great way to do it. I hope you enjoy this update, and I look forward to competing with y'all on individual runs!

Hey all, Fred Wood here. A year ago I launched kuso, the product of a little of over a year's worth of full-time work. I'm still very proud of how this game came out, and I've loved seeing the reaction from its players. kuso may not have been a financial success, but critically, it seems to be loved the way I hoped it'd be. In the last 365 days I've been busy. The initial non-reaction to the game's release left me in a pretty sour place. It took a bit for me to want to get back to work, but once I was able to kick that feeling, got back to work I did. On November 20th, there's a big update coming. Some folks might be able to guess some of what's in store, but I'd wager no one will be 100% right. We've got new levels coming, new achievements, new modes, new music, and all sorts of new features. And new secrets, but I doubt anyone will find all of them as quickly as they did with kuso's initial launch. kuso didn't make its investment back in 2018, and that was a bit of a surprise to me considering the budget was pretty meager to begin with. So this update was put together with nothing but hard work and love, and a chunk of change from my own pocket. Despite that, this substantial update will be free. So here's what you're getting with this free update: 16 Levels 16 Music Tracks 9 Additional Levels 13 new Achievements Individual Level Speedrun Leaderboards for every level Additional Leaderboards for different gameplay modes Redone Menus Save & Quit in the middle of a non-speedrun mode In-Game Keyboard Remapping Audio Level Sliders Jukebox Mode with 49 selectable tracks New Secrets A New Way to Play And More? Since this update is free, we're going to be adding the new music as a "Volume 2" soundtrack on Steam. This is the only way we're monetizing the update, so we hope you'll buy it, and maybe a copy of the game for a friend or two. Thank you for your kindness, for your support, and for playing this game I've worked so hard on. I appreciate you, and I look forward to you getting to play even more kuso on November 20th. -Fred Wood @ThatsMyTrunks

Back on January 15th 2017 I was excited to announce my return to game development and share the debut demo of kuso. Now here we are, 296 days later, with the full game. I'm very proud of my work on kuso, and I think it's a game that fans of LOVE, speedrunners, retro game enthusiasts, and gamers looking for a short and concise challenge will really enjoy. I hope that you have fun exploring these new hand-crafted levels in this fresh new engine, enjoy this amazing new soundtrack once again composed by James Bennett, and that you enjoy taking control of fiveEight as they make their way towards the light. I wonder how long it'll take for players to find every secret we've sprinkled throughout the game. I'm so excited to see what comes from our players. Show me your record times, your discoveries, your theories. I want players to post artwork of their interpretations of fiveEight's world on the community hub. I can't wait to see streamed speedruns of players who have mastered the game as well as newcomers picking it up for the first time. I hope you'll come hang out with us in the kuso/LOVE community Discord and become our friends. If you run into a bug, a problem, or something that seems amiss, make sure to post it in the Bug Report thread on the Steam Forums. We're dedicated to making sure that we fix everything we can. And this isn't the end of the journey. I have some really fun and exciting plans for post-launch support that I'll be sharing with you again sometime in the near future. I bet you'll all love it. Kuso is a phrase in Japanese that conveys frustration. I'm so fortunate today to be able to say that that's the furthest thing from how I feel right now.

Hey folks, I've been hard at work on kuso since November 2016, and I'm pretty proud of the progress I've made. Players at tradeshows have been very warm towards it, and I think it's something that fans of the original will really appreciate, and new players will hopefully enjoy too. After watching SGDQ (hype) a good deal, I really began to appreciate the value of a game specific Discord chat. It's a great place for folks who play a game to discuss it, come up with tricks for how best to speedrun a game, and it's an incredibly valuable resource for a developer who's trying to find ways to fix and improve a game. So with that, I give you the official kuso / LOVE Discord Chat. Link: https://discord.gg/jHhX6Np I hope you'll come join, hang out, and discuss these games and other stuff you like with me and other like-minded players. Just make sure to check the #Rules channel first! I should have more news for kuso coming up in the next month or so, and we'll be demoing the game at San Japan in San Antonio, TX (9/1 - 9/3)

Hey everyone, my name is Fred Wood. You might know me from my other game, LOVE. kuso is a reductive platformer that focuses on creating a fair challenge that is able to be mastered by dedicated players. Secrets, Achievements and Speedrun Leaderboards are all available to those who wish to milk this demo for all it's worth. The game's name, kuso, is inspired by the shout of frustration you might've heard in a Japanese Arcade in the early 90's (or perhaps even still today) when a player made a mistake that cost them a play. This demo contains three brand new levels from kuso as well as six remade levels from its predecessor, LOVE. kuso now runs at 60fps (twice the fps's that LOVE had), runs at a more proper 16:9 resolution, has better stat tracking, and is a tighter and more reliable engine than before. I'm excited to finally get back to making video games, and I hope to have a fairly robust game ready for you sometime in Q4 of 2017. If you'd like to support the game's development you can do so by checking out the game's official page at kuso.ge/support. There's a bunch of cool, inexpensive ways to help me make this game. You can also always go get a copy of LOVE for yourself or a friend right here on Steam. While we're not currently taking pre-orders kuso, it'd really help us out if you'd add the game to your Steam Wishlist. I hope you enjoy the kuso Demo, and I encourage you to leave your thoughts, questions, concerns and suggestions in the Steam discussion group.
