Update 1.0.6 Live Leaderboard Competition Won |
May was a busy month for us at Bare Knuckle Development with a multi-platform 30% discount sale on Space Blaster in the first week. We launched the 'Space Blaster Lockdown High-Score Challenge' which saw players try and climb the leaderboard for prizes of over $90. We gave hundreds of Space Blaster copies away for good causes and charities throughout May to bring a bit of fun to people struggling in the lockdown. Now in early June we have a winner for the lockdown challenge and an update for the game.
UPDATE 1.0.6 OUT NOW!
Update 1.0.6 brings improved support for ultrawide (21:9) monitors. The game now runs correctly on these monitors in a 16:9 rectangle in the centre of the screen.
SPACE BLASTER HIGH-SCORE CHALLENGE WINNERS:
The winner of the $30 prize got an amazing score of over 3 million on the Nintendo Switch version of the game. In 2nd place, and winner of the $20 prize, is a Steam player with another awesome score of over 1.5 million. All of the top ten got prizes and the competition was a lot of fun for all and a nice distraction from lockdown.
SPACE BLASTING FOR CHARITY:
In May we donated over 300 codes for Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo on all platforms to Ukies Games for Carers initiative for NHS workers in the UK. We gave over 100 codes to Legion Games in support of UK veterans and we donated 40 codes to Disability Stockport, a local charity that supports disabled people. I also joined-in a few games of Call of Duty Warzone with the guys from Legion Games for their charity 24-hour gamathon which was a lot of fun. Im really proud that we supported these three great causes and Im excited to get involved in more charity work in the future.
Hope you are all well and staying safe during lockdown. If you fancy watching a Nintendo Switch player get a score of higher than 1 million here's the video:
