What's happening?
As the first anniversary of its release approaches, I have decided that it's time for Potion Commotion to begin a new chapter, and to expand its community.
Therefore, on
March 17th, 2021, the game will be made free-to-play on all platforms, thus allowing for a fresh bunch of budding Wizards to try their hand at growing a magical garden, and making Potions!
Why?
I'm really excited about this transition and for the opportunity to introduce the world of Wizardry to new players.
My decision to make this change is largely due to a desire to showcase Potion Commotion to a greater audience, and I felt that a F2P model would be the best way to do this.
As my first ever public project, it has an awesome soundtrack provided by my Brother, HMN Music, and some fantastic Voice Acting from talented VAs! So going F2P, hopefully, will give these great artists more exposure too.
What about the players who own the game before it becomes free?
Not forgetting the loyal Sorcerers who are already familiar with Eldershire!
Anyone who has a Steam copy of the game before the free-to-play launch will be rewarded with a special
Founders Pack, which is currently planned to include:
- A hefty number of in-game Tokens
- An exclusive attire for Wogglebogg
- and more, to be announced...
Can you still support the developer?
If players would still like to support me, then purchasing the Potion Commotion Soundtrack and Fanbook is a great way to help me out on my journey as a Solo Game Developer; which is always highly appreciated.
And please be sure to tell others to check out the game too!
Anything else?
The Clothing Boutique Update is scheduled to be released in early March, before free-to-play, and it'll feature the opening of Hugo's Outfit Shop, with a batch of purchasable clothes for the main characters, as well as a few other cool surprises.
Also, I have two completely new games in the works, planned to release later this year, so stay tuned for announcements regarding those.
Thank you
Cheers so much for your continued encouragement and kind regards,
Luke, the Developer of Potion Commotion.
