Patch v1.06 - 'Move directly to' command, and map-editor features galor
A 'Move directly to' command, and map-editor features galore! You asked, and we answered: you can now directly order your troops to walk in a straight-line. Fastest path? Pfft. WALK DIRECTLY OVER THAT MOUNTAIN. Useful for when the enemies guard the road, making the most efficient/fastest path too dangerous to take. Reinforcements have arrived for the map editor! Behold more new features than you can shake stick at!
- Added 'move directly to' command - this makes the unit move in as straight a line as possible (will still path around rivers). Want to walk DIRECTLY over that hill and through that forest? You got it! Note: 'move directly to' not available for voice commands
- Added 'back to map editor' button that appears when testing a map editor map (clicking it returns you to the map editor and loads the map you were just testing) - Added INFANTRY BATTALIONS to map editor - Added NAVAL ARTILLERY unit to map editor - Added MINEFIELD to map editor - Added SWAMPS to map editor - Added BEACHES to map editor - Added IMPASSABLE areas to map editor - Units can now be initially 'lost' - Units can now be initially 'out of communication' - Added several BRIDGE rotations - Can now ZOOM the map with scroll-wheel - When editing terrain shapes, pink vertices appear on top-most layer - Fixed weird audio bug when switching between map editor and main scene - Added a billion tooltips - Fixed localization of editor - Delete button no longer appears for maps downloaded via steam workshop subscription (you have to unsubscribe via the website) - Fixed bug where going back and forth between map editor and main menu had unique unit names break
- Added note about speech models on create new campaign screen (not sure why I removed it way back...) - Added note about speech models in tutorials and first mission - Increased font size of stats panel - Added tooltip about speech models - Improved localization of a few tooltips - Fixed speech model setting not saving properly between plays - Fixed microphone setting not saving properly between plays - Juno Beach: made Germans retreat less into ocean (Wrong way! Unless you want to surrender...) - Dieppe revisited: made Germans retreat less into ocean, increased map height to give more room in water - Fixed artillery mis-reporting actual number of barrages remaining - Fixed Dieppe Revisited overview not appearing for French localization
- Minor bug fix to joining
- Further increased tank resistance to artillery by 10% What's next? We're going to switch gears and start working on the first free content update. See the roadmap for more details: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011610/discussions/0/2262438048237032350/ If you're having problems with speech recognition, please refer to this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011610/discussions/0/2262438048225838980 You can help us improve the speech recognition! We've added a toggle to the bottom-right of the main-menu that records your voice commands. We'd be grateful if you help us improve the speech recognition performance on your bizarre accents. Oh, we did other stuff in this patch too. We're working hard to make the game the best it can be, so good or bad, please leave a review with your thoughts and comments.

Public Linux Depots:
Radio General is a real-time strategy game where you can't see your units. Instead you talk with them over the radio. You receive verbal reports, and then issue orders back over the radio. Unfortunately for you, war is confusing. Your units won't always know what's going on, and you must make tough decisions based on these incomplete (and often confused) reports. All of this is done from a detailed command tent, as it would have been during WWII.
Clear your throat, and show us your best commanding voice. By combining speech recognition with full voice-acting, you'll feel like you're a general on the horn with your troops.
Behind the scenes, ammunition, morale, camouflage, sight and stamina are all being modelled. Elevation and terrain type will heavily influence battles. A smaller force will be more successful in launching ambushes in a forest than a larger force. Being on a road drastically improves movement speed, however affords little cover and camouflage. Being on a hill will drastically increase your spotting distance, whilst also increasing your range and damage. Study the map carefully, and identify how best to use your units.
Carefully choose which companies to deploy - each company has unique strengths and weakness. Learn the quirks and personalities of your companies: zealous officers may refuse to retreat. Veteran companies will gain specializations, with each unit type having unique abilities.
Everyone needs a break, and your companies must rest and replenish between missions. Exhausted units perform poorly, so watch your unit rotations.
Play from the under-represented perspective of the 1st Canadian Army. Take part in the disastrous Dieppe Raid, crack the Hitler and Gothic Lines in Italy, land upon the Normandy beaches and close the Falaise Gap.
Review 100's of historical photos, documents and video. Learn how soldiers lived throughout the war, and gain a better understanding of their experiences.
Recreate history's most famous battles of the war using an easy to use map editor. Share your creations using Steam workshop. Create challenging scenarios for others to try to beat!
Battle against players around the globe, or ally with them against the AI! Enjoy slower-paced tactical matches without needing insane micromanagement skills typical of most RTS games.
