General, we have need of your skills once again. Take command of the First Canada Army, and capture the channel ports. Wade through the muddy swamps of Belgium and Holland, and take the fight into Germany. Show the enemy the might of our Royal Airforces using aerial recon, tactical airstrikes and devastating bombings. Have engineers build bridges to cross canals and rivers in the Battle of the Scheldt. Lastly, bring food to over 4.5 million starving Dutch civilians. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2110160/Radio_General__Water_Rats/ Even if you don't get the DLC, you'll still receive in this free update:
Greetings, Generals. Wow, has it really been two years? Well, we started working on this DLC a while ago, but got busy, and well... better late than never, right? Regardless, we're extremely proud to announce...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2110160/Radio_General__Water_Rats/
Highlights include a new Air Support unit (recon, airstrikes, bombing!), constructing bridges and 7 new campaign missions along the Channel coast and Low Countries. Not to mention new historical photos and video.
Get your cigars and brandy ready, and we'll see you on the battlefield in two weeks.
We've been busy working on another innovative strategy title for the last two years... KAIJU WARS! And it's available now! Steam page
Play out a kaiju movie as the (hopelessly) outclassed military in the stylish 2D turn-based strategy of Kaiju Wars. Construct buildings and defend your city with cannon-fodder tanks, jets, and more as the devastating kaiju grows in power with every attack.

Although just a little bit different than Radio General, you'll recognize some of our designs crossover - historical film footage, persistent units, a map editor, way too much content, etc. You never know when trying something new ends up being a pleasant surprise, so why not take a look?
Steam page
Foolish Mortals, known for its hardcore realistic WW2 voice-commanded real-time strategy game Radio General has now released a demo for a colourful monster-based 2D turn-based tactics game! Yes, this is definitely rather... er... different from our earlier work, but we promise you it's still innovative, and it's still a strategy game!
If you're a fan of our previous work, consider checking out the free demo of KAIJU WARS. If you give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised!

MORE INFO:
Games for Change awards are designed to highlight games that achieve some form of social good, such as education, sparking important conversations, highlighting social issues or promoting empathy.
Radio General is first and foremost a strategy game, but it also places a heavy emphasis on education. We use hundreds of real historical photos and videos to teach players about real battles, and are one of the only games to cover Canadian history during the war. Currently Radio General is being used in local highschools to teach Canadian history during WW2, and we give out free keys for educational purposes.
Lastly, Radio General is also one of the rare games to promote empathy and discuss the actual human cost of war. Other RTS and wargames have you throw away hundreds if not thousands of digital lives during a mission, and the only acknowledgement given to this is your score screen at the end. In Radio General, you personally review casualty reports, and have to write letters home - how do you tell a mother their son won't be coming home?
In short, Radio General was nominated due to its educational focus and its unique depiction of the human cost of war.
- Fixed achievement 'Tactical Genius' not always being unlocked
Radio General, along with many other excellent Canadian-made titles have been nominated for the Canadian Game Development awards. You may be surprised at the number of high-quality games coming out of Canada. We also have an upcoming game listed too. Still a strategy game, but a little bit monstrous. Happy new years! Here's to hoping 2021 will be far better than 2020. This patch addresses a few quality of life features.
Attention recruits! The annual Steam awards are here, and if you thought Radio General was innovative, thought provoking or education, we'd be honoured if you nominate it for the 'Most Innovative Gameplay' award.
Originally called Armistice Day, Remembrance Day in Canada commemorates the armistice agreement that ended the First World War on Monday, November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m.on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada during times of war, conflict and peace. We remember the more than 2,300,000 Canadians who have served throughout our nations history and the more than 118,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice. To honour this occasion, we are releasing Radio General's soundtrack for free! Sit back, listen to those bombastic melodies, and give a thought or two to all those who fought in the war. Soundtrack: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1303970/Radio_General_Soundtrack/ Also, the game has a 50% discount!

Every engine needs maintenance, and fine-tuning. Here are some bug fixes.
Smaller patch today, fixing a few annoying bugs.
This time we fix many of the issues plaguing the map-editor, and give some needed love to our tank crews. You can help us improve the speech recognition! We've added a toggle to the bottom-right of the main-menu that records your voice commands. We'd be grateful if you help us improve the speech recognition performance on your bizarre accents. Oh, we did other stuff in this patch too.

We'd be grateful if you help us improve the speech recognition performance on your bizarre accents. Oh, we did other stuff in this patch too. Again, from the last patch we suggest recreating your old map-editor maps from scratch. Previously placed roads, rivers and forests may be wonky. If your old map doesn't load, please send them to michael@foolish-mortals.net
Happy easter everyone! Just because it's easter doesn't mean we stop patching. We focus primarily on the map editor, with a nice how-to guide written up. We suggest creating new maps from scratch after this patch (we promise to stop breaking old maps soon!). If loading old maps, we recommend re-placing all roads, rivers and forests. If your old map doesn't load, please send them to michael@foolish-mortals.net You may need to restart steam to get the patch. Patch v1.03 Map Editor: - Uploaded steam map-editor guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2058875860 - Added more tool-tips - Fixed rare bug where certain fonts would disappear - Removed large-town object for now - its shape was causing issues (will be reintroduced soon) - Fixed custom-shaped terrain sometimes having wonky colliders - Changed roads to be polygon shaped - the previous single-pathing was causing issues with colliders. Major: - Turned on vsync for all graphics quality settings to fix excessive frame-rate on certain machines Minor: - Added steam workshop button to custom missions level-select screen (opens a web browser to workshop page) - Made figurine muzzle-flashes be disabled with 'show battle animations' option - Fixed bug where dragging and unslotting a unit resulted in visual glitch and losing ability to slot that unit Balance: - Further reduced artillery blast radius veterancy perks - Made tanks a bit more resistant to artillery barrages What's next? Localization improvements, a 'straight-line' move command and of course more bug fixes. If you're having problems with speech recognition, please refer to this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011610/discussions/0/2262438048225838980 We're working hard to make the game the best it can be, so good or bad, please leave a review with your thoughts and comments.
Another 'aggressive' patch, this time we have a bit of everything, and give some love to the map editor. You may need to restart steam to get the patch. Patch v1.02 Major features: - Added 'Highlighting grid coordinates from radio messages on map' (showing event locations) option. This is toggled off for new 'high' realism campaigns. - Added 'Units becoming understrength/exhausted after missions' option (shown when creating new campaign). Note: for existing campaigns, you must toggle the above options yourself in the options menu. Map editor: - Upload to steam workshop button hidden not clickable until map is saved once - Added confirmation panel when uploading to steam workshop - Added more tooltips - Fixed units sometimes ignoring elevation for path-finding - Fixed unit controller field not setting properly - Fixed road shapes not saving properly - Made default controller for enemy units static AI - Added highlighting to edit shape button - Fixed airfields not having visible labels - Made loading more error proof Balance: - Hitler Line: swapped an enemy infantry company with an infantry battalion (it felt wrong this mission is easier than the previous Gustav Line) - Nerfed artillery blast radius veterancy perks by 50% (they were gosh darned too big!) Minor: - Units no longer report losing sight of enemies when panicking or retreating (they're too busy!) - Royal Regina Rifles unit available for Juno Beach instead of Sicily, Royal 22 Regiment now available for Sicily - Fixed potential break in Dieppe Raid tutorial - Fixed rank designations in casualty list - Fixed a few typos What's next? A 'straight-line' move command, map editor steam guide and localization improvements If you're having problems with speech recognition, please refer to this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011610/discussions/0/2262438048225838980 We're working hard to make the game the best it can be, so good or bad, please leave a review with your thoughts and comments.
You asked, and we answered - we've been monitoring and responding to discord and the community forums like a hawk, and a new patch addressing many concerns is now live! This is what we call aggressive patching. You may need to restart steam to pick up the patch. Patch v1.01 Major features: - Added 'extra mission duration' toggle to level-select screen. This doubles the duration for each operation, allowing you to take it slow and maneuver to your heart's content. - Added 'slow game speed' toggle to level-select screen. This halves the normal game speed, slowing down the game and allowing you to more easily react to the craziness of war. Note: Both options above only available for singleplayer (for now). Minor: - Removed the 'look at me' red circle animation of message prompts after it happens twice - Made units be able to retreat when under fire even if they can't see their attacker (a.k.a. someone shooting your tanks, and your tanks can't see them) - Tweaked AI to add maximum distance they'll move to capture empty enemy-held objectives (no more cross-map marathons!) Bug fixes: - Resized main menu and options menu to better support super widescreen (3440x1440) - Fixed scan-lines/grayscale remaining when quitting a mission while fast-forwarding via pause menu - Fixed drum-roll sound not stopping when a max-veterancy unit is levelled-up - Removed font warnings from player.log file - Changed saved replay filenames to use given names instead of mission name - MULTIPLAYER: Fixed client being unable to report enemy status using enemy figurines What's next? A straight-line/move directly to command, localization improvements, a map editor guide, more bug fixes and maybe trading cards? If you're having problems with speech recognition, please refer to this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1011610/discussions/0/2262438048225838980 We're working hard to make the game the best it can be, so good or bad, please leave a review with your thoughts and comment.
A quick hotfix - Fixed artillery not firing for certain users (this blocked progression in 'Training Operations' mission If you already downloaded the game, you must restart steam to pick up the patch.
